The best formula for sucessful boxing promotion is pretty simple. Make competetive fights i.e the best vs. the best. That is what true fight fans want to see. Big names are a good start, but hopefully this company doesn’t follow the trend of blatant mismatches disguised as “superfights”. Haymon is also a former music industry person & his fighters are almost always mismatched/protected. The music industry seems to be accustomed to telling people what is “good” instead of vice versa. Hopefully this won’t be the case with this company. But to think one for profit company will cure all of boxing’s ills is delusional. Most companies don’t tend to look out for outside interests above their own.

Boxing needs fresh promoters with innovative ideas. USA amateur boxing needs a very serious, energetic, and comprehensive upgrading, from judges, referees, coaches, and management, to promotion — much like is happening in Great Brittan where they’re doing gangbusters …. Oscar De La Hoya says he’s determined to pull together the top Americans in the sport and to turn around the US amateur program around in a massive and serious way — but it remains to be seen if this is just more lip flapping and hot air, which seems to happen with every disappointing Olympics and new shameful low for our USA men’s boxing team.

Stop talking bollocks. Neither Don King, De La Hoya or the UFC pick their boxers on the basis of the colour of their skin. I hope you are not another ESB user that is obcessed with peoples colour.

No, 50 Cent and TMT cannot solve boxing’s problems. If Boxing’s problems are to be solved it might try a new start without ex-cons, drug dealers, and crooks. This new “union” is about money. Only money–not improving the sport or the condition of it. It’s about greed and power and selfishness and disrespect. No, nothing will be improved by this union except the green-lined pockets of just a few players.

Maybe TMT was formed to cash out on Mayweathers last fight hopefully against Pacquaio but I have my doubts..

At this point…boxing is in trench warfare…or should be fighting like it is. lets see what 50 cent can do as a promoter. I mean wtf, why the hell not? Hip Hop is a POWERFUL force that need be reckoned with. If 50 can make matchups that fans want to see, put a different spin, something creative that gets buzz going again for boxing, sounds like good news to me if done right. How bout gettin some dope ass rugged emcees, turntablism, grafitti art, breakdancing, hip hop forms of entertainment goin on at shows?? Jedi Mind Tricks, RA the Rugged Man, Immortal Technique, to many sick shows that I think would create a buzz in the U.S…We know the whole World gets watches the U.S…

da ugly truth

Happy boy, again mayweather makes his money with a well planned date (cinco de mayo weekend) and a strong under card ( canelo) this has nothing to do with skills, its called business… I’m sure u wouldn’t pay for a mayweater vs bradly fight with a top rank type undercard..

Question that should be asked is can they do any worse? I really dont think so, who knows, 50 knows entertainment so maybe if the fights cant be improved on the pre-fight entertainment can, I mean, in this age of PPV everything, you gotta get your value for money somewhere right?

Ummm Add to the problems is more likely, why would one assume they are in it to solve any problems? Because they mentioned it? There’s a sucker born every minute.

boxing barlow

I think 50 dents plan is to take a perfectly good boxing match, and to rap over the top of it, not changing it a great deal but stand in the back ground waving his hands funny repeating ‘yeah’ and ‘ough’ over and over again. For some stupid reason people will lap it up and take him serious as a promoter in his own right.

50 cents can’t even buy a cup of coffee.
