I see, you know more than Ricky does on how he feels in his heart. Figures.

It was unlikely he was going to lose the fight that way with 3 minutes to go, enema schnozzle face.. Point being that he need not retire over this result.

Douchenozzle-How many times had Oscar been dropped by a liver shot before he met Hopkins in the ring? As always, your drivel makes zero sense…

Posted November 26, 2012 3:06 pm

How many times has Hatton been dropped before, by a liver shot, in almost 50 fights??? Never, ever before.. But his defense fell apart with the rest of his game.. If you’re his chief second you tell Ricky to settle down, relax, and button down his defense.. And keep using his jab because he stopped using it.. You have to read your fighter the riot act when he’s ahead in the fight and starts throwing wild lead hooks that are missing by a mile.. That’s nonsense for an experienced guy. Ricky was well ahead when his game fell apart because he was throwing wildly trying to stop this guy, and not defending and not jabbing.
Just being too emotional, too bouncy, too wild, too over anxious, and a great chief second would settle Ricky down and get his game back on track against this caliber opponent, not better than Malignaggi … Basically, I see this as his corner screwing up horrendously.

In Hatton’s first loss to Mayweather, he blamed the increase in weight and ref Joe Cortez for losing. Next it was Mayweather Sr’s fault for his distruction to Manny. And in his third knock out loss there wasn’t anyone to blame so Hatton cried. These are the actions of a great champion and ambassador to the sport of boxing? Hardly.

Mick the Marmalizer

Ricky Hatton is unfortunatlly now resigned to the history books, he’s been a great ambassador for the sport & his country over the years, but time waits for no man. So let’s look positivelly to the future & the weekend wins of British Boxers, Quigg, Buckland, Etches & Murray all got useful wins, so what next for them? murray’s pushing for a fight with S.G.Marinez, while I’d like to see Buckland fight Commonwealth champion Liam Walsh. Etches should be fighting for an area title + a few fights overseas, while Quigg should be hounding Carl Frampton & also be taking fights away from home. “Just my opinion of course”!

The corner can’t get in the ring for you when you have lost your instincts. It’s over, and hopefully Ricky will stay where he is at in life, no regression.

Posted November 25, 2012 5:30 pm

Enema Schnozzle nose… Hatton’s chief second fell down on the job. Hatton started off well but was over anxious. He stopped jabbing, threw wild amateurish shots, and lost his form as the fight went deeper. When you win the early rounds and get a good lead — but your opponent hangs in there, makes adjustments, and turns the fight around, while you get increasingly desperate and wild — most of the time that’s coaching… That your corner.

Posted November 25, 2012 4:30 pm

It’s Me, Ernie

Some douche-nozzle wrote: “Hatton’s chief second lost the fight…”. Instead of making up your own stories about this fight and most every other one your mummy let’s you watch, try listening to the actual fighters themselves. Ricky said he just didn’t have it, he normally would have caught on to the opponent’s checking him to the body, but he didn’t, Senchenko took advantage of his mistake and leveled him with a Micky Ward to the liver. Excellent shot, fight ender. It was Ricky’s fault, no one else’s. He did go out with class though, the best to him…

All of this WBA interim crap is fooling no one! Quigg should have gained another notch on the Lonsdale belt last night, I just hope he fights the winner of Frampton/Martinez next & if it’s Frampiton I hope the British, European & Commonwealth titles are on the line & not the Micky Mouse WBA interim bauble. As for Rabchenko, he’s gonna have to concentrate 100% on the USA if he’s looking for a World championship fight. I see Gary Buckland added another notch on his Lonsdale belt, so how about matching him with Commonwealth champion Liam Walsh to see who’s actually #1 @ 130Lb in the UK? Back to the WBA interim rant. What’s the betting they make Rigo super champ & Quigg ordanary belt holder? I know for a fact that Gary Hyde offered Quigg a crack at Rigo, but he wisely turned it down.

Posted November 25, 2012 9:08 am

Hatton’s chief second lost the fight… Hatton had the skill and conditioning to win the fight. He could out-box Senchenko but didn’t maintain his jab or defense throughout. He didn’t box. He didn’t jab his way in. He looked for the KO. He had no patience. He threw quite a few wild and desperate shots when his situation wasn’t at all desperate. Senchenko was overmatched in speed and skill. He lost the early rounds but never panicked. He waited for his shots and maintained everything he knew, just as Hatton did in the Malignaggi fight. Ricky had more patience and greater concentration and maintenance than Paulie that night. That’s why he won every round from the 2nd on and the fight.

Come on, a 10 round fight is 30 minutes. Do it. It’s a boxing match and guys forget that.

He may have got ko’d tonight; but in my mind he is still a WINNER IN LIFE. He didn’t allow drugs and alcohol to destroy him and he got himself in the best shape possible and went out there to give it another try. I’m proud of him and I wish him well!!!!!!

B**** please your game is old

ok Boxtradamus the relevance to boxing is that a great champion a future hall of famer just lost a comeback fight and a twat comes onto a website which is for true boxing fans and starts being a twat despite the fact he knows (which is a fact ) a lot of fighters use this website.. but before your ego is filled with being the undisputed undefeated king of twats my decision goes to the f***wit who interviewed hatton after the fight who despite knowing the state of mind hatton must have been in continued with a sustained attack of awkward and embarrassing questions that shouldn’t have been said to the guy let along in public. so unfortunately boxtradamus you now have lost your undefeated record as heavyweight twat champion of the world – im off to bed catch you later dude p.s marquez vs pacman 4 whats your call dude and i want the way of victory to be included in your prediction before i call you prophet!!!

Hatton had the classic, one more chance now he needs to NEVER be seen in a ring and accept that his athletic prime is gone and his mental strength has been broken… He tried to kill himself on more than one occasion, he is a man no longer meant for the rigors of professional boxing… Guys are harping on the weight, but Danny Garcia would have had him out of there just as quickly as he did Erik Morales at 140, Hatton is WIDE open and Senchenko began to figure him out and time him, getting stopped via liver shot proved to be a gift.. His fiancee is attractive he might as well move on with his life and leave that cheesy theme song on YOUTUBE…. It ends badly for fighters FAR greater than Hatton… Thats the nature of boxing…

for the record im not a big hatton fan but a huge kostya tszyu fan! i was the only englishman present at the MEN arena that night cheering on Kostya and as much as i hate to admit it the fact is kostya hit hatton with everything that night and apart from one punch hatton hardly flinched. so when a former flyweight knocked hatton out cold with one punch not out of biasis did i think “hang on” but bloody logic and after the mayweathers accused him of taking PEDS it all made perfect sense. im not aganist pacquaio because if he was in fact clean (or beat mayweather with the testing) i would have to rate him P4P no#1 of all time

Posted November 24, 2012 9:12 pm

Am on point

Hatton can’t fight in this weight he should just retire
I always says when a fighter comes back is for money

Posted November 24, 2012 9:01 pm

fight scribe WTF how did i say that- when mayweather fought hatton it was at welter the higher weight suited to mayweather who gradually wore hatton down over 10 rounds and who has since scored KO’s, pacman in the last 3 years (since the cotto fight) has been accused of being on ped’s and since then not scored a ko, hatton who he brutally ko’d in 2 despite taking the best kostya tszyu (one of the best puchers in 30 years had to offer over 11 rounds) had to offer and overcoming the fact he had come up 8 dvisions. Hatton meanwhile (the case study here) in the previaling 3 years went on a fear and loathing in las vegas 3 year binge drops 5 stones and fights a world class fighter in the weight divsion above his natural weight and goes 9 rounds before sucumbing to a body shot. my point being there is clearly nothing wrong with hattons chin or will, So which points to the fact that up until 3 years ago pacman suddenly lost the power of greyskull or hattons chin mysteriously went wrong that night

Posted November 24, 2012 8:59 pm

I only caught the last 3 rounds and i was admittedly saddened to see hatton looking like a shadow of his former self. His wild swinging and missing offensive were very Chisora’esque and he was a sitting duck for senchenko’s smooth punching style. Fair play to Senchenko he fought smart, slipped very well and picked his punches wisely. Hopefully we wont see hatton back in the ring, for the 3 rounds i watched he was void of his former skills, balance and timing.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:50 pm

Fight Scribe

Gray – so based on your account of Pac knocking out Hatton then Mayweather is to one PEDS?

Posted November 24, 2012 8:42 pm

i have to say this fight for me was a test on the whole pacqiuao PED scandal and i think i the results speak for themselves
so Lets relook the whole pacquiao drugs scandal all over again, the fact hatton was never hurt to head shots after 3 years of mind bogling money no problem beer, curry and cocaine excess aganist a former world champion and fighting at a higher weight yet got sparked cold by a guy who since the fight after hasn’t scored a KO (in 3 years) after being accused very publicly of taking PED’s say it all. The clear fact now is there was and is still not a problem with hattons chin and the fact a man who went up 8 divisions and cleanly and brutally ko’d a guy and then subsiquentialy after being accused of taking performacing enhancing drugs has only scored one knockdown in 3 years since says it alll!!!!!

Posted November 24, 2012 8:33 pm

Boxtra.. You idiot, it was a body shot that did him. Punch resistance lol. Only a fool thats never fought before would come out with something like that

Posted November 24, 2012 8:32 pm

@Pans, I thought he really didn’t look that bad.. He did miss wildly at times, but given the layoff that was expected. The fight was close but Senchenko was closing in on Hatton after the 4th – 5th rounds. However, Senchenko took it out of the judges hands. I don’t know if Hatton should continue but if he doesn’t he’s achieved what few have in boxing.

Currently, I’m worried about his mental state because in the past he has stated that he wanted to commit suicide. Tonight’s result hasn’t helped at all.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:22 pm

When this fight was announced I felt it was a dangerous fight for Hatton, especially after coming back after 3.5 years. I would have preferred him to have taken a couple of easy fight first to build his confidence and to get rid of ringrust. This fight was very tough.
I admire Hatton to take on Senchenko in his comeback fight, unlike Khan who always takes on crap fights.
I felt very sad seeing Hatton cry in his post fight interview. He shouldn’t feel ashamed of his defeat. Personally, I’m glad he lost because if he was in the ring against the likes of Khan, Brook, Bradley, etc, he would have been badly battered. I think this defeat has saved him from taking anymore further punishment.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:20 pm

@Likeiseeit. I thought Hatton looked unbelieveably terrible, the crowd were silent, Hatton was wildly swinging and missing, he was getting hit flush at will. Hatton looked like a random guy they brought in off the streets, the commentary was way too kind to Hatton. The lack of crowd noise tells you everything, at the halfway point i thought he’d be lucky to hear the final bell. I can’t see how people had Hatton up but you’re entitled to your opinion.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:18 pm

I scored the fight even after 8 rounds. I gave Hatton rd 1,3,4 and 5. The rest were given to Senchenko.

Hatton said before the fight that the world will see a different Hatton in the ring. What I saw tonight was the same Hatton that fought Pacquiao – reckless, off timing and easy to hit. Hatton should have boxed Senchenko, using his jab to time his hooks. Instead, he kept being a brawler. Malignaggi beat Senchenko by using his jab followed by his right hands.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:18 pm

Hatton didn’t look too bad and I had him up by one round at the time of the stoppage. However, he was showing stamina issues by the 8th round. He should have taken a tuneup…maybe even two. On the downside, he still has defensive issues which will not bode well for him if he continues his comeback.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:10 pm

It was a high risk strategy not to take an easier tune up fight first time out after such a long lay off (whilst also losing so much weight in the last few months) that unfortunately didn’t work out.

Despite inconsistent timing, Hatton nearly pulled it off and was ahead on points before being caught with a good body shot by Senchenko at the end of the penultimate round.

Whatever Hatton decides to do next, I hope that he will move forward with a positive outlook and not lose sight of how successful he’s been during his boxing career.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:09 pm

Tomato can…100% agreed. But alot of chemical depened people..addicts cant get that through their heads.Belive me I know it takes a whole different way of thinking and acting to get over that mind set.Hatton needs real help and support for a long time maybe forever to overcome addiction and the behavior that comes with it.Hopefully with a sober mind and support he will see he did great things that not many of us could achive. And he will enjoy life sober and clean and find that peace.

Posted November 24, 2012 8:07 pm

Hatton didn’t win a single round convincingly, after the first round you could hear a pin drop, he looked EXTREMELY shot (embarrassingly so). I’m glad he got KO’d by a mediocre fighter ’cause it answers the quesions and there woud still be some blinkered Hatton fans out there now who would be blindly optimistic if it had been a better opponent he lost to. Hope he gives it up for his family’s sake. He won WBA, IBF,Ring and IBO 140lb titles and WBA 147lb titles, he was Ring P4P top 10 for a couple of years and beat Tszyu and Castillo, he should be happy with his achievements.

I agree, Hatton needs to focus on the positives. He’s achieved a lot, probably more than he should have. He wasn’t the most gifted boxer, but he beat some gifted fighters. He held championship titles, was once considered the best at 140. He needs to change his frame of mind, and learn to be happy with what he has. Otherwise, he’ll end up crashing and burning again. We see enough of the that in boxing.

The writing was on the wall for how to beat Hatton the straight ahead no head movement style that left him open to counters got him rocked again…to me the fight was up for grabs could have given Hatton the first 5 so at 5-0 Senchenko needed something big or it was a draw, though i think Senchenko had a case for 3 and 5, he won 6,7,8 for sure in my eyes….i thought for 5 rounds he was impressive but the conditioning wasnt there he ran out of steam after the 5th and started to get caught and i was mostly shocked by it being a body shot KO and i thought he would get up too…very good fight

I was going to put money on Senchenko for the stoppage, but didn’t. I would have felt bad if I had after watching Ricky’s postfight interview.

The guy needs help, he really does. He needs to find an identity he can live and be comfortable with that doesn’t involve the adulation of thousands of fans and the glory of the ring. I’m worried about him.
