eric ; I have difficulty understanding your ” problem ” with Wlad . You weren’t really specific . Please explain .
As for his last fight , I could not agree with you more ! It
was garbage . Just like Vitaly’s fight against ” Safety Pin ”
Johnson was garbage . It only proves , that it takes two
to make a good fight . With Povetkin , it was immediately apparent , that he did NOT belong in the same ring with Wlad . All the hype and hoopla promoting the Russian , was just that ; hype ! Every time Wlad came close enough to hit him , Povetkin immediately started to ” embrace him ” . It was pathetic . It was also plain to see , that for some reason , Wlad fought almost the entire fight , without using his right hand . It was as though , he did not want to hurt Povetkin . I know that it was an ugly fight and I would have much more preferred to have Wlad knock him out , but he did expose him as totally incapable of ever being a threat .

Really hope for a good watchable fight from Wladimir this time.

good point.

Why would you spar with a 200 pounder if you’re getting ready for Leapai??? Makes no sense.

Posted April 18, 2014 1:49 am

Anonymous, you think this is all a joke? Then why don’t you get in that small squared ring with Leapai and lets see if you do not HO-HO in your drawers. Freaking idiot. Leapai is worthy as anybody in the top ten WBO and certainly more than you. Anonymous, you would be number 598 on the mandatory list. Go get some desert couch potato.

I’m american, and Klitschko’s the best heavy’s ever lived on earth. I’m a fan of boxing 43 years, and I did follow this sport all the time even fought few times

K2 fan, there’s only one problem klitschko has and it’s a hard line stereotype and myth Americans have a difficult time putting behind them just as peej said or more than likely a peej exposing boxing fan, the latter is more than likely. Both k bros are greats no doubt about that it’s in the books as we speak even if he loses then retires.

I will admitt his last fight was complete garbage thou.

Heads up: ESPN network has reached an agreement to pick up the rights to televise the April 26 world heavyweight title defense of unified WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko against WBO mandatory challenger Alex Leapai in Germany.

Wlad is certainly a sore subject for the ” haters ” . Not only,
is he one of two greatest heavywewights EVER , but try
as they might , they cant find much to criticize him about :
He’s great , he’s smart , he is gracious , he never badmouths his opponents he never underestimates his opponents ( not ANYmore ) he is always prepared and
he always wins ! Pretty hard to find fault with a champion
like that !

Have a look on You Tube
there is sparring footage of Dave Haye beating the living sh!t out of Denotay Wilder
In the build up to the Fury fight

Posted April 17, 2014 9:53 am

Why we not call for Wilder vs Haye? up n comer vs part timer, should be an interesting fight and without a head guard we’ll see Wilder’s chin tested for sure.

FA- hes a well schooled 2 time national ABA champion, looks good for only four fights as a pro, good punch selection and a natural athlete, a good prospect i’d say.

Great experience for Barclay, money can’t buy that and he got paid for it so a win win all round, shows his courage too being a virtual pro novice in there sparring with a big beast of a heavyweight champion, hats off son well done.

761tankbattalion, you got to kidding me, go check out on youtube, haye sparring with wilder, if wilder didn’t have headgear,he would be flat on his back……

lol @ screamin mimi. I won’t happen. Wilder has the boxing world shook. The Bronze bomber will make sure that the Brown Bomber’s record of 25 consecutive title defenses stays intact.

Anyone see this Barclay fight before? I never heard of him. What’s his best strength and do you think he’s got a lot of upside talent?

Posted April 16, 2014 1:36 pm

Barclay looks a good prospect. The Cruiser division is weak and tired at the moment, so it needs an injection of decent prospects.

Posted April 16, 2014 1:10 pm

Wlad should be able to easily outbox Leapai as Wlad is going into this fight with a six inch height advantage and a six inch reach advantage.

Posted April 16, 2014 12:38 pm

Wlean-on Klinchko will have to put on a much better BOXING performance against Leapai than he did against Povetkin, otherwise it will be an even bigger boo-fest.

Posted April 16, 2014 12:37 pm

This will be like a training exercise for wlad. Easy win

Posted April 16, 2014 12:31 pm

Latimer (the way Manny used to pronounce Wladimir) looks as fit and trim as ever for his upcoming battle with the heavy punching Samoan Leapai. Go Wladdy !!!

PulŠµv is coming!

Posted April 16, 2014 11:26 am

He is definitely in a class of his own but once he leaves the HW division will become more competitive. He is so good that currently the rest are not coming even close. Once he is gone, there will be much more exciting title fights.

Posted April 16, 2014 11:16 am

Wlad is a great man, a great champion, and a living legend.

It is terrible thinking of the heavyweight division after he leaves.

There is no one, as Larry Holmes would say, that can carry his jock strap…
