He’s basically a broker. A middleman just there to tie all the sides together.

Posted April 18, 2014 12:20 am

He’s a broker. He just negotiates on behalf of people with very little investment of his own.

Posted April 17, 2014 6:22 pm

Boxtradamus – you have just asked the question which has been bothering me for an age – fighters make an agreement with haymon but he is clearly not a promoter or a manager so what the hell is he??????

Posted April 17, 2014 5:10 pm

Al Hayman is smarter than them all. He basically makes Fights using other people’s money. Thats why he isn’t a promoter. A promoter usually has to put his own money in to make Fight. Al Hayman just makes the Fights while everyone else has to make the financial investment while he takes a cut. Brilliant!!

Khan Floyd puppy dog, yes master what next? And Floyd fan say why didnt PAC take Floyd offer of 40m. Would you trust Floyd? He changes his demands on the fly, and enjoys making you look like a dummy. Ask his last girlfriend he just dump. He when out of his way to crush her on twitter, not nice Floyd.

HE could always sign for Arum and fight Floyds shlops and the likes of Rios.

Real competition there huh!?

Posted April 16, 2014 5:04 pm

khan has one major flaw. he keeps falling over.

Sweet Science

Peej – Your an idiot and a racist. Whoever talks crap about Khan is a racist because of his race and religioun. Hes a great boxer with alot of heart and wants to fight the best. Never ducks anyone. Yea he has a few losses but so what he has an exciting style. His style would definately give Fraud problems. The best fighters of all time have losses. Fraud never fought an all time great in his prime. Fraud always has to have everything to his advantage, weight, speed, gloves etc….hes a cherry picker. He will duck Khan if Khan beats Collazo in style.

Who cares what Khan does???????????

“Is Haymon greedy or doing good for boxing?” – When Haymon gets involved the competitive fights don’t happen. Guys use him as a shield against any dangerous opponent and he gets them paid without taking the risks they’d normally have to take to get a big payday. So from his stables’ point of view he’s good. From a fan’s point of view he sucks balls.

“the new slave owner of boxing..only in America”

Al Haymon’s practices should be closely scrutinized and questioned. What basic differences are there between a “manager” such as Al Haymon and a promoter? Why do boxers need such a guru anyways? If such managers are allowed to exist with the power and clout that Haymon has, why does boxing need promoters? Perhaps Haymon is a “manager” now, but plans to create–either by himself or in tandem with other entities–his own promotional company. But if that’s the case, how can what he is doing now be fair or legal?

I’m thinking along your lines, smh. Except I’m not imagining the word “slavery.” I’m thinking “monopoly.” Which happens to be illegal in the U.S.

Peej so for you khan deserves the fight with paqiao but not floyed eh??

I know why you are saying a this , you just fear mayweather fight khan and he might look bad against khan which I personally know he would due to his style …

Is Haymon greedy or doing good for boxing? I’m not convinced he has the boxing fans in mind with any of the decisions he makes..

Posted April 16, 2014 9:33 am

“exciting stage of my career.” Khan’s last fight was April 27, 2013. What’s exciting, amir? Tell me please. What’s exciting about a career where you fight so infrequently?

Who cares. Khan is the most protected fighter in the buisness. He’s as thick as a rock and says he would fight anyone – but so would i …. just as long as my team makes sure i don’t actually have to.
See Khan has some solid buisness minds behind him and they know that although he is exciting (due to his vulnabilities) too many losses will lead to loss of earning potential, of course he would lose the Mayweather fight too.
It’s really a disgrace- just look at who he has fought recently … Modina (the crap one!), Diaz (way past his prime yet he almost got beat), he avoids Alexander then almost wins the Mayweather lottery??? wtf??? Mayweather , yes even Mayweather (fight Pac ya coward!!) couldn’t justify fighter him so he ends up fighting Collazo- another fighter who is past his prime and has one notable win in the last 6yrs (against proven quitter Ortiz). EMBARASSMENT AND THOROUGHLY DISLIKED IN BRITAIN- WE ALL SEE THROUGH IT AMIR!

Collazo is gonna do away with khan

Oiled I said before Hayman has his hand in the fighters pockets.

Al Haymon is a boxing manager he also a promoter on the tv or network side. He has ton of fighter. There is another guy same as he Lou something. Why cant thes two free agents managers cross over to top rank side for fights, must be some kind politic, don’t think there bonded by contract to deal only with GBP .

If they could lead and have there fighter cross over , GBP will feel left out and maybe they let’s some fighter cross over, because after Floyd retire, it make no sense for the cold to go on.

Anybody know more about this topic?

BTW, this means that Amir fired his dad as his manager, I guess.

Posted April 15, 2014 11:59 pm

Khan signed with Haymon to improve his chances of getting a fight with Mayweather. Either that or some little birdie tweeted in Khan’s ear that that was what he needed to do to get the fight.

Posted April 15, 2014 11:58 pm

I was convinced 100% collazo wins against khan when the fight was announced now after khan signing with haymoon who knows ….

Marilyn13: “It makes sense. Haymon probably wants Khan as a plaything for his other fighters.”

I’m still on the floor laughing my ass off, because this very well may be the case.

So does this mean Khan’s going to cherry pick weak comp with the obligatory conflicting network/promoter excuse?

Khan’s Cuz Achmed

Amir is on a one way road to the championship. Mayweather is only temporarily holding Amir’s titles. The little tit known as “Money” will be known as beaten as soon as his tiny balls swell enough to step in the ring. #KingKhan2014 #BigBoiDollaz
