Guerrero’s daddy is more popular. What happend to the Mayweather Sr. fight?.

Posted March 25, 2014 6:11 pm

Sorry, I meant Ernie. Do you have a link to that video clip, Ernie?

Posted March 25, 2014 4:55 pm

“The angle shown on the Youtube video shows actually that it was a cuff that did the damage and the cut.”

Cuff? I saw the curled end of a glove attached to a straight right smack Vitali’s face. Regardless, like I said, Ref Moret said the cut was caused by a fair punch. It is what it was.

BTW, how about providing the link to that video, Peej?

Posted March 25, 2014 4:54 pm

Lewis opened the cut over Vit’s left eye with a straight right at the beginning of the third round. Ref Lou Moret could be heard saying between the third and fourth rounds while Vitali was sitting on his stool, that the cut was caused by a punch. Moret said he called it when it happened. It was a large nasty cut and the doc allowed the fight to go on because Vitali’s corner had the bleeding under control by the start of the 4th round.

All the re-hashing of the Lewis/Klitschko fight won’t change the outcome–then, now, or 500 years from now. No foul was called against Lewis, the fight was stopped due to a horrible cut and that’s that.

Posted March 25, 2014 10:34 am

TARK hmmm… That’s right, I can’t recall Vitali suffering a cut since neither, maybe a little nick, but not a cut.

Posted March 24, 2014 3:18 pm

And all at once Vitali gets 4 deeply slashed cuts on his face.

Posted March 24, 2014 3:02 pm

Right… Vitali never got a threatening cut before in his life. Actually before or since… He wasn’t a bleeder. And Lewis never cut anyone else like that in his life. He wasn’t a cutting puncher.

Posted March 24, 2014 3:01 pm

TARK Yep, the blood had stopped almost completely. The deepness of the cut was scary. Did you see how much gauze fit in that cut! The tip of the swab virtually disappeared in it. As you know, the blood doesn’t necessarily define the seriousness of a cut, especially and EYE cut. And yes, had it gone to the scorecards Klit would’ve won a tech UD.

Posted March 24, 2014 2:50 pm

As for the STOPPAGE of the Lewis vs Klitschko fight… it HAD to be stopped. The cut was awful and health threatening. Whether one agrees with the actual officiating or not is a totally different issue, but the fight itself HAD to be stopped. I’ve had to stop fights in the past under similar conditions with my fighters against their pleas, and in a case like Klits’ I probably would’ve stopped it too. It happened too early in the fight. I can understand him being upset, he was coming on and Lewis seemed a bit gassed. Klit was also a bit tired but not as much. Oh well, just my humble opinion. Peace!

Posted March 24, 2014 1:09 pm

HIDALGO Well… I see your point. No, it didn’t appear to be one of those vintage Chavez Sr/Cotto left hook body shots, but it landed. I’ll just leave it as the body shot that folded Oscar. Only Oscar knows for sure, and I’ve never known Oscar to just plain quit without taking serious punishment like he was absorbing vs Pacquiao. Peace!

Public Enemy

Guerrero and his sht talkin father are bums..

Posted March 24, 2014 11:32 am

“and… as for the fight itself, it was a boring stinker (as are practically all Bhops fights) before the body shot folded Oscar.”

You mean the body shot that supposedly folded Oscar, don’t you, EZ E? I’ll go as far as giving BHop credit for landing a body shot that dropped Oscar, but nothing will ever convince me that it was a strong enough body shot to leave a wilted, finished DLH on the floor. Oscar made a decision while he was on the canvas. That decision was to quit.

Posted March 24, 2014 10:42 am

and… as for the fight itself, it was a boring stinker (as are practically all Bhops fights) before the body shot folded Oscar.

Posted March 24, 2014 10:35 am

TARK Funny that you brought that up about the judges. That was my observation when the officials for Oscar vs Bhops were announced too. What I also found interesting back then in the Oscar vs Bhops fight was that it was actually the third judge, I forget his name, that had Oscar ahead before it ended!

Posted March 24, 2014 9:56 am

VERY funny coincidence… The same 2 judges who robbed Sturm versus De La Hoya were selected to Judge the Hopkins-De La Hoya fight!!!

I had to LMAO when I heard the announcement.

Posted March 24, 2014 1:21 am

Posted March 24, 2014 1:18 am

And EZ E is right… De La Hoya vs Strum was another bag job.

Posted March 24, 2014 1:17 am

Hopkins didn’t have to struggle to beat Jermain Taylor.

Except on the judges’ score-cards… In the first fight he out-scored Taylor more than 2 to 1 in the 12th… He was the aggressor in that round, hurt Taylor, and easily won the round… Duane Ford gave that round to Taylor, because Taylor NEEDED it to win the fight on his card … Ford was called before the commission to explain his score in that round.

Ford said, “I blew it.” … More like he thought the round was close enough that he believed he could sneak it over to Taylor. How can you “blow” a round that’s that one-sided??? Doesn’t happen.

Posted March 24, 2014 1:15 am

hmmm… I don’t believe that was the REAL BEARS. He’s doesn’t go that far to be a no-class A-hole. So… I’ll take the liberty and speak on behalf of TUMBO and myself and tell the fake BEARS to kiss BOTH OUR AZZEZZ!!

te tumbo

Yes. E is the original EZ from way back. he also knows his boxing like no other i’ve heard or read online or any other media. he’s stopped me in my tracks and made me think twice and you’re notches below me BEARs so stop being such a prejudice ass; read twice as much as you post; and take advantage of the opportunity to learn something from a real expert and ring-veteran like EZ E.

Posted March 23, 2014 8:03 pm

BEARS Ask around kiddo. I was called EZ E before I knew the rapper existed. Years ago TUMBO mentioned the same thing. Ask him yourself, he might remember. Anyway, sounds like you’re desperate and any foolishness will do. Not cool. Can’t carry on a civil boxing discussion? You’re really trying too hard and making yourself look bad. Take it EZ! (Get it, EZ?) Stop looking for a ‘fight’. Sorry if I hurt your feelings or offended you. Com’on man.

guerrero is a crappy boxer. his footwork is horrible. he is slow. he is feather fisted. he gets dirty and cheats. i dont know anything he does very good maybe fighting inside. the guy has to be fully planted to unleash his mighty featherfists. dudes just a horrible boxer all around excels at very little

Posted March 23, 2014 6:29 pm

whis gonna believe EZ E has nothing to do with the dude who made the name up. please nobody is that dense

Posted March 23, 2014 6:22 pm

guerreros garbage. i dont think u have listed anyone like guerrero though. calling guerrero garbage does not mean everyone else is r u that dense?

Posted March 23, 2014 6:18 pm

BEARS Seems like your attempting to compare yourself to Lampley and Dan Rafael to back up your opinion that Guerrero is “garbage”?? Are you that deep? I don’t think so. I asked you if fighters that haven’t accomplished what Guerrero has are “garbage”? I respect your opinion that he’s a C level fighter, although I might consider him a B- fighter, but does that mean he’s “garbage”?? You’re avoiding my questions with all this other stuff that really gets away from the originality of this discussion like questioning my faith because of a ‘user’ name and jumping to all kinds of conclusions. Am I getting through. I’m not trashing you because you are a bit shallow fundamentally as far as fighters go and because I might have more overall knowledge due to my inside experiences since childhood. No, that’s not my point. It’s your COMMENTS that speak for you. Whatever your opinions are about Ali are yours. I simply asked you WHY you consider Guerrero “garbage” and according to YOUR reasons then 90% of ALL fighters that ever laced them up are ‘garbage”. Get it? But don’t answer, it’s okay, we’ll just agree to disagree.

Posted March 23, 2014 6:14 pm

im not the biggest fan of racist cassius clay or should i say nation of islam convert muhammad ali who spoke at a klan ralley in favor of segregation to the point of giving blacks entire states.

personally, clays actions disgust me. but he is a def boxing great. i agree he was pretty close to featherfisted but he could accumulate and stop the beast foreman. plus his resume is one of the best ever. i dislike the hell outta the the guy but i have to give him a fair shake when it comes to boxing. clay runs circles around guerrero in every way and metric. either klitschko at peak would SMOKE a peak cassius clay.

feather fists, cheating, over rated, and taking part in the circus, and loads of inactivity. plus i think guerrero is simply wide open flat footed has to be planted and is slow as hell. i believe he is a c level fighter who will get smoked by a top notch b level fighter. those r my views an opinions. whether or not i have boxed is irrelevant it does not make one any more qualified not saying i have not. my family members being inivolved in boxing is also irrelevant. acting like they are credentials is sad, they are not. the best announcers and analysts did not box. there us no sport that is interpreted better by those who “experienced” them first hand. its just not a credential. u can relate experience but in terms of interpreting sports its irrelevant. espn’s main anchors are not former atheletes. dan raphael of espn did not box

Posted March 23, 2014 5:12 pm

@The Facts ! hmmmm… Well, with all due respects, but some interesting TRUTHS and FACTS about the De la Hoya vs Trinidad fight are that Oscar was a HBO house fighter all the way, ever since he turned pro and not even the HBO scorecard nor ANY of the official judges had Oscar winning the fight. Maybe they saw that without Tito at least trying to make more of a fight out of it, there was NO fight. In the first round Tito out-landed Oscar by ONE blow. Maybe Oscar’s were more impressive but Tito was the more aggressive. The HBO card gave the round to Oscar but the official judges gave it to Tito. The HBO broadcast chief Jim Lampley seemed to ejaculate with every jab/punch Oscar scored, but it was the judges he had to impress, not Lampley. Yes, the HBO punch count widely favored Oscar but… it’s possible that it didn’t say much as far as the scoring criteria of the officials. consider that Oscar practically conceded the final 4 or so rounds of the fight. Punch counts are deceptive. We’ve seen many instances where the fighter that has scored LESSER has been a POPULAR winner and the opposite as well. At the end the HBO scorecard didn’t have the ‘house fighter’ ahead, Harold Lederman tabbed it a 114-114 draw. Anyway, just pointing out some interesting facta to consider. Peace!

Posted March 23, 2014 4:22 pm

regards the two Taylor vs Hopkins bouts, Taylor brought out the very best fighting credentials in Hopkins, who had to fight tooth and nail vs a man of considerable talent in a vain attempt to both retain and then regain his world MW titles. This is an example of a fight when the WINNER actually emerged as the LOSER overall and vice versa.
Taylor was NEVER again the same fighter who outwitted, outfought and outlasted Hopkins over 24, exciting and competitive rounds – when was the last time Hopkins had to fight tooth and nail in a fight?? In subsequent outings Taylor sleep walked through defences vs Ouma, Spinks and was lucky to draw with WINKY Wright and tested the very patience of Emanuel Steward RIP in one of those fights, pushing him to the very brink of walking away from him!
Hopkins was the recipient of new found fans who embraced his fighting heart in two ultimately failed fights with Taylor and he went on to demoralise and trounce many a young fighter, such as Pavlik, Pascal, Cloud along the way picking up the Light Heavy title from a disinterested and inept Antonio Tarver, who had gone Hollywood.
Yep, Taylor may have won hut in the grand scheme of things he never again performed to the heights of his two epics with Hopkins and in the end is only remembered rather harshly for being chinny, instead of for his sweet boxing style that fizzled out quicker than the bang of a firecracker.

In a few short posts Dazani has brought far more intelligence, clarity and balance than TARK has posted in 5 years of mostly self-congratulatory, pointless drivel. Well done Dazani and keep the posts coming. Also, Dazani doesn’t throw hissy fits like TARK does if someone challenges him. He will review his posts and offer up a reasoned argument.
If only TARK could be humble enough to actually listen to those posters who would like clarity or challenge his posts, he wouldn’t be pulled on all the piffle he writes.

Posted March 23, 2014 1:50 pm

@BEARS I sent my last response before I read yours. My intentions were not to be offensive nor insulting. You were the offensive one. Coming from a fight family of fighters, trainers, managers, ring announcers dating back to the 1930s besides being an ex-fighter myself, I don’t think it’s cool to trash fighters and label them as “garbage” as you do and will express myself. Nothing personal, it’s not cool, especially from a keyboard point of view. My intentions were not to OFFEND, but rather to DEFEND! Maybe you you’ll understand, although you might not agree. If by chance you felt insulted by my comments well then, my bad.

BEARS before you fill the thread with anymore of your nonsense I’M NOT MEXICAN. TUMBO, TARK, KID BLAST, HIDALGO, SrMINIMO, GHETTO BROTHER and others will all vouch to that. Now, now that you’ve “correctly” identified me through my user name, I’ll had never heard of a rapper of EZ E before I started on ESB MANY years ago. I’m no ‘youngter, I’m in my 60s. I’m not much into that music, movement or genre. It was bestowed on me because of my initials. So much for your “profiling” me. You’ll never make it as a cop. But.. I will say that you’re making yourself look horrendously bad in your continuous efforts to downgrade & belittle anyone and everyone for ANY which reason you can think of. You seem to have a serious inferiority complex. Look, if considering folks “garbage” is YOUR cup of tea, then be my guest, have all the cups you wish. Whatever turns you on, dude. If YOU consider fighters “garbage” simply because they, as you put it, have “no pundh/feather fisted” then Willie Pep was “garbage” and so were Ali, Miguel Canto, Barney Ross, Kid Gavilan, Nicolino Locche, Dulio Loi… (some of those names you probably never heard of nor know much about their careers) We might as well take away their great statuses ’cause we certainly wouldn’t want Canastota’s Boxing Hall Of Fame cluttered up with “garbage”, huh? Like I said, a true waste of my time. Let it go, dude. THE END!

Posted March 23, 2014 1:31 pm

im sorry u chose to insult me and start the use of invectives. i dont like saying those things and i had been reading your posts of late and finding myself in agreement with some of your views.

i have distaste for guerrero for multiple reasons when it comes to boxing and as he pertains to boxing especially his feather fists.

and im bigtime anti mayweather circus

Posted March 23, 2014 1:18 pm

guerrero is a c level fighter easily knocked off by the b level fighters and not to be confused with being a journeyman.

Posted March 23, 2014 12:51 pm

thats quite over reaction mexican dude with a black rappers name who wrapped about violence and being a “real g” your here preaching christian values. is that some kind of sick joke? u should get your head and a$$ wired a little tighter son.

gun toting guerrero is not a garbage human being as far as i can tell my family has countless firearms. i disliked hiw over rated guerrero was and is and i especially disliked his take on the ortiz recipe of getting a floyd fight. that is, beat berto get a floyd fight.

however, guerrero essentially got a beer belly to make weight and participated in a forgone conclusion event i would not even describe as a boxing bout but something more likened to a wwf wrestling ppv.

i cant blame the sacrificial lamb for takingthe pay day i know i would. but to me its kind of a disservice to the sport if boxing which is not to be confounded with pro wrestling. mayweather vs guerrero was garbage and a pure insult to boxing and its fans. mayweather and his cherry picking is a circus act. ortiz, guerrero, kahn and maidana. anyone perpetuating these kinds o things do a disservice to the sport. boxing needs cleaned up. cant just turn a blind eye to garbage.

guerrero is garbage because he was a feather fist at every weight he fought at and 147 was a joke. dude will get his clock cleaned by a ton of guys. i say let provodnikov scalp him. guerrero’s style is like a feather fisted, cheating, poormans style of provodnikov.

robert vs berto “shades if lennox lewis” dudes garbage for his cheating too. now lets hear it from the “real g” masquerading as a dude claiming to have christian values. lol

Posted March 23, 2014 12:42 pm

BEARS Okay, here we go. I can tell you are very shallow on what it takes to be a fighter. If Guerrero is “garbage” for the reasons you give then most ALL fighters are garbage according to YOUR “standards”. No, he’s not an elite but that’s make him “garbage”?? Then ALL the journeymen fighters that literally are the heart & soul of boxing are “garbage” too? Men who take fights on short notices as UNDERDOGS, knowing that their chances of winning are ‘slim & none’, enter the ring aware of the punishment they probably will absorb, fans hoping that the favorite rip his head off, yet he takes the fight anyway!! Why do these brave men of “garbage” do it? Why? Well, sometimes for a miracle or just for a paycheck to put groceries on the table. Maybe it’s because they love the sport regardless. Who knows?Do YOU know any personally?? How many times have YOU called them garbage to their faces?? How many times BEARS?? hmmm… Probably NEVER! BUT.. according to YOUR “ridiculous” standards” they they qualify to be considered “garbage” nonetheless, huh BEARS?? Add the prospects that sacrificed health, time, effort to represent their countries in the Olympics and other events but fell short as pros, are they “garbage” according to your “standards” as well? Add the TENS OF THOUSANDS of fighters that haven’t come close to accomplishing what Guerrero has during his career but yet entertained us with valor. More “garbage”?? Think about it BEARS. And.. what exactly do you know about Guerrero? How did his ‘The Ghost’ nickname come about? It was given to him and it stuck before he became a devout Christain. BUT.. that’s enough for you to ‘trash’ his Christian beliefs and belittle his concern & caring generosity in his effort to give something back to his community, huh? Search YOURSELF, what have YOU done for the youth in your neighborhood or noble causes? hmm… Oh, I almost forgot, they’re probably GARBAGE too, huh? And YOU consider yourself a FAN?? You do?? hmmm… Well then THAT’S what I call a bunch of GARBAGE. I kind’a thought you had more knowledge of the sport, respected the game, fighters & yourself and had more but evidently … ahhh… nuff said, through with this.. It was probably all a waste of my time. BUT I’ll email ‘The Ghost’ shortly. He’s probably getting ready for Church. He won’t get offended, knowing him he’ll “retaliate” by PRAYING FOR YOU!! Maybe we BOTH will. Guerrero is that type of “garbage”, dude.

Chavez vs Whitaker is easily the worst decision in boxing.

Posted March 23, 2014 11:40 am

DANZINI I have a copy of the fight in my collection and TARK, with whom I often DIS-agree with, is correct on this one. Peace!

Posted March 23, 2014 11:19 am

guerero is garbage because he is featherfisted and his resume to me is not that great. and nobody is looking at boxers as role models and if they were the klitschkos are probably number one.

i think the better question is why do u think guerrero is not garbage? for beating jason litzau and andre berto LOL! for climbing weights and collecting very poorly contested title fragments? getting a belt here and there in other words. getting a belt in itself can be very irrelevant to this boxing fan. maybe collecting one of the many alphabet soup titles by itself means a lot to some fans. but fans know there are times when chumps hold straps, guerrero has jo future. he will be sacrificed soon. robert THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB guerrero.

i love that nick name its so fitting with his christian background. what say you?

Just a few other questionable decisions I can quickly remember:
Malignaggi “loss” vs Juan Diaz I
Richar Abril vs Brandon Rios
JMM “lost” to Chris John
Floyd vs Canelo MAJORITY decision!
Reymundo Beltran “draw” vs Ricky Burns
Emmanuel Augustus vs Courtney Burton I
Erik Morales W12 Guty Espadas I very questionable
Fres Oquendo “loss” to Chris Byrd
Carlos Zarate vs Lupe Pintor
Julio C Chavez Sr GIFT draw vs Miguel A Gonzalez
Kid Gavilan “lost” to Johnny Saxton

The HBO team considered the Floyd vs Castillo I a horrible decision.

Oscar “win” over Sturm was a pretty bad one although I’ve seen worse

I’ve reviewed the Augustus vs Micky Ward fight MANY times and Augustus wins every time, IMO.

I have to agree with Tark. Hopkins won both of the Taylor fights. HBO was trying to get rid of Hopkins but that didn’t happen. Unfortunately they put Taylor in the ring twice with Hopkins and that did ruin his career.

Hi guys it’s me again ,,Danny Garcia i know this article is not about me ,,but i just want to tell every one that my butt feels a lot better now ,,since i got my ass kicked by Herrera . and i just want to say that these darn Mexican fighter are really tough . I won’t ever fight another Mexican again ..

The Facts !

To TARK why didn’t you put the Garcia vs Herrera fight up there among the top robberies of all time was pretty obvious that Garcia lost ..

Posted March 23, 2014 2:21 am

Dazani.., Maybe you haven’t heard of YouTube???

You can review most important fights there including Schmeling-Sharkey II. Schmeling was robbed blind.

And if you think Taylor won either Hopkins fight you’re blind as a bat. Hopkins landed more punches… defended better… used the ring space better… controlled both fights better… landed a higher ratio of his punches… and so he easily beat Taylor in all four (4) scoring criteria in both fights.

Duane Ford was called before the Boxing Commission after the first fight to explain his score for Taylor.. His excuse was, “I blew it.” … He also had Bradley beating Pacquiao and had to explain that one too.. The other judge who scored for Bradley (C J Ross) had Canelo drawing with Mayweather.

Posted March 23, 2014 12:47 am

I only watched it once but I too thought Taylor squeezed out a victory because he compiled more poits through more than half of the fight. Hopkins came on to late. He miscalculated on when to attack and kick it into the next gear. That’s also how you knew he was declining physically since if this was Hopkins years prior, he would have dominated from round 1. It would have been worse than the beating he put on Glen Johnson.

The worst scored fights with the correct winner: Floyd Mayweather’s fights with De La Hoya and Alvarez.

The worst refereed fight resulting in the wrong winner: Lewis-Klitschko.

my favorite fighters are offensive fighters. i call them the fireworks fighters. guys like klitschkos, kovalev, adonis, froch, 3g, canelo, serg martinez is cool, pacman, mathyse, provodnikov, angulo, theres more on that list but those the kinds of styles i like to watch. i def wanna watch thompson vs soliz. oldanier has lost some weight and he has a real sneaky style. he also beat haye in the olympics or amateurs. heavyweight is my fav division

watch out for fighters and promoters engaged in fixed fights

Posted March 22, 2014 1:59 pm

ANONYMOUS Yep. Well, it’s what our sport has become. We can blame the promoters, networks, fighters, managers, “advisors”, abc boxing orgs… ALL of which is true to some extent but it’s basically ALL about MONEY & GREED. It IS what it IS, but it’s ALSO the fault of.. THE FANS!! Yes, the fans, for buying & eating up all the hyped up events and trash they serve. Anyone can criticize the years when King, Arum and the Duvas were the top promoters but.. at least they got TOGETHER and gave US the fights WE WANTED!! They HAPPENED!!

Posted March 22, 2014 1:49 pm

Big Ham

It must suck having 3 managers.

Posted March 22, 2014 1:19 pm

Top rank has nothing to bargain with his fights suck and no one pays to watch them. Manny vs. the same guys over and over is all Arum has. While fighters like Floyd, Danny Garcia and Canelo see out arenas. Name one good fighter Arum as that does big ppvs. Manny is on the decline and Bradley is a not even a big name fighter

Posted March 22, 2014 1:13 pm

“Team Guerrero and Team Al Haymon are united as one and together we are going straight to the top.”

Straight to the top? Makes sense. This is major news.

Posted March 22, 2014 1:04 pm

Top rank doesn’t want to work with GBP either. It’s both and not just one. Arum is big on wanting to be the Man in charge even when promoters get together.
Arum also does the same thin King had been doing throughout which is if you want to fight my guy you must sign on under my banner. That should be illegal.

Posted March 22, 2014 12:37 pm

Listen to Paulie M. talk about Haymon. After listening to him, it’s hard to say what he is doing for fighters should be illegal. what should be illegal is what the majority of promoters are doing with fighters.

Haymon is getting his fighters paid. He seems to be doing the opposite of what others are doing by being the good guy and actually being the good guy while the others are going around manipulating, lying and stealing. That seems to be Haymon’s angle: The fighters are not yours to own but you are at their service. I work for you instead of you work for me mentality. That seems to be why fighters are running his way.

I think he is the best P4P. But he is not the best of all time. But it is good for promotion.
Floyd’s been on the decline for years but he has a high I.Q. work ethic, and very talented in boxing skills that his younger foe has trouble beating him. Yes, Father time gets us all.

Anonymous, come on who cares what Mayweather calls himself? That doesn’t matter anyone can call themselves the best. In Mayweather’s case the minority of his peers, trainers, supposed experts, and fans think he’s the best. But all good things come to an end, someone else will be considered the best within the next 2 to 3 years.

Pac fans need to realize that both he and Mayweather’s day in the sport are numbered. Stylistically speaking as time goes by Mayweather’s advantage increases everyday, because as these two slowdown Mayweather will have a better skill set to rely on. And since Pac has undeniably taken more damage of the two, Pac won’t even have an advantage in durability.

why would Floyd fight supposed A level fighters when he’ll get paid better than anyone no matter who’s he’s fighting? If he lost to a supposed A level fighter, guess what, he gets a pay cut. You fans who are complaining that Mayweather isn’t fighting good enough fighters need to realize if he really isn’t then the sport sucks cause it must be filled with subpar fighters who are able to capture titles. And if that’s the case, it’s not Mayweather’s fault that only a couple of fighters are close to his level.
Posted March 22, 2014 11:40 am

Floyd wants to say he is the best but he isn’t if he is downgrading his opponents.

Why should he fight “A” level talent? Because he claims he is the best.

Should he? NO. If he wants to stay undefeated and healthier, you keep doing what you are doing. I don’t blame him for that. It’s business. but he can’t call himself the best.

My point to him would be to not belittle your opponents. talk them up so when you beat them, you are promoting an “A” level perception.

That’s because they can’t do what they do. It’s like Teddy Atlas belittling Fighters because he is a failed fighter himself. And an overrated trainer.

Fans are like Skip Bayless and Steven A. Smith except they get paid and fans pay to see the entertainers.

What is acceptable is critique. It’s different though

Some boxing fans put down certain fighters to reinforce their opinions about other fighters. If you call someone like Guerrero trash, then Mayweather doesn’t seem so good after all. The fact is a fighter is damn good if he gets up to Guerrero’s level, and most never do. I hope Guerrero hasn’t lost the hunger.

Yup. Floyd talking about how his opponents are “C” level is a good example. Someone should ask him how he is the greatest fighting “C” level competition.

Same with Roach who has done it for years. even recently has called Sergio Martinez a Soccer player and not a good fighter. Well, I hop Sergio is healthy and knocks Cotto out and someone should ask Roach what its like to have his fighter get beat up by a Soccer player.

When is Roach going to train a fighter from the ground up instead of taking already made Champions?

When is Floyd going to fight “A” level fighters?

BEARS I don’t know, but you consider ‘The Ghost’ as some “garbage”?? Does everybody have to be an ELITE like maybe Floyd, Ward, Marquez, Bradley.. to satisfy you? If not then they’re “garbage”? Oh well, forget it.

Posted March 22, 2014 11:16 am

BEARS ahhh.. You call Guerrero “…garbage”?? hmmm… Oh well, forget it.

Posted March 22, 2014 11:07 am

Say what they want but ‘The Ghost’ is a fighter to admire. Besides the Floyd fight, he’s WON when most said he’d LOSE. He’s had to overcome a few obstacles along the way and some might even want to consider him an OVER-achiever BUT.. fact is that he’s EARNED his. Yeah, we know that Floyd fight wasn’t really a PPV worthy event but that wasn’t his fault, blame Floyd, who was looking for a ‘gimmie’ fight for his Showtime debut and Robert wasn’t gonna turn it down. Actually, it was Robert’s dad that helped the promotional hype, with Floyd Sr as a “supporting actor” of their comedy. What are Haymon’s true intentions behind this recent signing? Will he REALLY dedicate himself to ‘REBUILDING’ Robert’s career? Or.. should we expect the usual ‘tuneup’ fight and then.. sacrifice ‘The Ghost’ in benefit one of his up coming prospects or established fighters?? Danny Garcia?? hmmm.. He can always count on Guerrero’s dad to help with the promo for that one. Angel Garcia vs Ruben Guerrero!! That alone would be worth a ticket! LOL!! Anyway, outside of the ring ‘The Ghost’ has been a credit to the sport, has donated his time & finances to various noble causes and has strong family values, an example for others to simulate. I honestly wish him the best. Peace to all!

if guerrero fights anywhere around 147 he will get lit the F*** UP SON. guerrero is feather fisted garbage. PLEASE let provodnikov SCALP HIM!!!!

Guerrero jump weight classes to get the big payday. He got it but gaining the weight is easier than losing it. Hard work pays off, boxers now in day dont want to earn there spot. They want that one fight straight to the top but cant handle the big fall. I guess he stopped taking advise from his dad. Put him in with Josesito, collazo, broner, porter. Kahn, Thurman and Garcia will out box him.

The “Ghost”…. Please…..

Posted March 22, 2014 9:32 am

Bill S. Preston ESQ.

He can change his name to muhamed Ali it won’t change the fact that he can’t land fights due to his boring style and lack of speed and power

Posted March 22, 2014 9:11 am

Guerrero became a ghost after being a sparring partner for Mayweather. His straight ahead bully style will work against lesser fighters, but at the world class level he will get out boxed every time. Rios and Guerrero would make a good fight, neither have any defense and both plow forward.

Guerrero took an embarrassing loss against Mayweather! Maybe he should fight someone who is not too much a threat like Khan to get him back in action.

When does his Cheech and Chong Gangster Dad fight Mayweather Snr ?

Posted March 22, 2014 7:52 am

who does he have at 147?

Posted March 22, 2014 12:53 am

Yeah, 30 year old Guerrero making 140lbs is just what that division needs.

Posted March 21, 2014 11:53 pm

Like to see Robert at 140. who is his promoter?

Cool, fight Thurman, Khan or Garcia now..

Cool maybe Robert will get a fight soon. He’s probably lost the hunger since his big payday loss though.
