And Slim Just Left Town

So much for another overrated “comer”. Joel Godfrey easily stopped de Oliveira last week.

*Ballou Armash* – Actually, de Oliveira has some 25 pro bouts behind him, while the Canadian Beterbiev has only 4 or 5. Still, I would tend to agree with you that this would be a great fight between 2 very evenly matched guys. Beterbiev, though short on pro experience, has hundreds of rounds under his belt at the amateur level and has won both silver and gold medals. This would definitely be a terrific contest if it ever comes off. No question about that.

Matt Germaine;
I can tell you this much about Marcus de Oliveira. In 2 or 3 years, he will almost certainly be a world title holder. You sir, can write that down in your day-book.

Hunting? Bernard and the others live in nice houses my friend, you won’t catch them in the jungle, so quit hunting, dress up nice, rent a nice car and get a good promoter, then you may have a chance.

Hope some savvy promoter puts de Oliveira in with the equally promosing young light heavy Artur Beterbiev. Both fighters are at about the same experience level and both have very serious punch-power. This would be a spectacular match-up.

Fight Aficionado

So this guy’s fighting in Cleveland on the ShowBox card? I never saw him but am always down with big punchers from Brazil. That 23-1-1 with 21 knockouts record is looking sweet but do the KOs come against drunken bums?

Man of War

TNT: de Oliveira would bust up Kovalev, break down his body and knock him cold. Kovalev does not have the willpower to stand up to de Oliveira’s bombs.

Oliveira is not facing Kovalev today, he will face Joell Godfrey. As for Kovalev, he will fight Cedric Agnew on March 29th.

If Ratinho and Kovalev ever face each other, I will root for Ratinho.

Ratinho, he good. Very strong and he patient. I saw him fight in Brazil, and he shows very strong punches. Sometimes the doctor he come to look at boxer on the floor when Ratinho punch him. Someday Ratinho he be WBC or WBA champion, maybe WBO or IBF champion, we see. Ratinho very strong.

I know Ratinho from Facebook. He is a very good fighter and person. He has not fought in almost two years because of manager controversies and eye injury, but he is back. Yes, he lost to Jackson Junior by KO in round 1, but, in my view, it was a fluke. I believe Ratinho will beat Andres Taylor and will eventually rematch Junior and beat him. I truly believe Ratinho will become World Champion.

Step into the ring with him, if you think he is so pathetic. Beat him.

I love to watch pure punchers, so I’m interested in de Oliveira. Has anyone seen him fight, beyond what’s available to see on youtube? I’d like to know more about him. Thanks to anyone who can tell me anything.

daniel…oliveira got stopped by junior jackson in one round, but after that jackson got sparked by umberto savigne…..the article says that savigne and oliveira are sparring partners…that makes me wonder if oliveiras loss to jackson was a fluke

The guy hasn’t fought anyone. When he tried the first time he got ko’d in the first, and had to go the distance the second time around. These Brazilians with inflated records are pretty pathetic.

I have seen this guy fight a couple times. He can definitely punch. I saw one opponent out cold for several minutes, I recall. Problem is, how do we know Oliveira will succeed at the top? Power is great, yeah, but we need to see him against toughter comp before we get excited.
