Hadari Santana

All I wanna know is why he never takes his gloves after a match? Is his gloves feeled with pastry stuff you use for a cast? All I’m saying is everyone else take their gloves off after a fight, why not him? Do he have something to hide?

I see Stevens is gumming it again, he wants a rematch with GGG because he reckons he will beat him this time. Photo of the year Stevens’s face after Golovkin stuck him on his arse in round two of their fight. Priceless.

I thought this guy flopped a bit. Going down from a jab? Not impressed. These are off TV type ko’s. I don’t like to see that crap on the network. Stevens is decent. I rate him top 12 but not top 5. He had his shot and it was an entertaining fight. He did not live up to his trash talk or gain even a margin of respect by his performance though.

Fight Aficionado

Good comeback win for Stevens. His power steam rolls second tier guys, the problem is when he’s in with world class dudes. But he brings heat and entertainment no doubt.

And what if Stevens beats down Quillin.

Posted January 25, 2014 3:53 pm

bum machine

that so called fight looks staged bum goes down with first left jab. ridiculous

Internet tough guys calling guys like Stevens, Tyson Fury, Chad Dawson, and Kelly Pavlik bums. It seems to me if a guy loses a few times, then he is a bum by the standards of these key board commandos. I never boxed, but I did wrestle at the collegiate level. As a result, I have atleast some understanding of the hard work and sacrifice these guys make to be able to perform at the highest levels. And if you are topping a fight card that is on NBC or HBO, then you are competing on the highest of levels.

Hmm, true. Quillin vs Stevens is actually a pretty good idea for a fight.
Quillin struggled against Rosado, another fighter that Golovkin was able to dismantle. Stevens would be able to apply more intense pressure than Rosado was capable of, though given his diminutive stature, Quillin may have more success boxing Stevens than he did vs Rosado.

Harry Belafonte

Samuel, my man! How ya doin’? Anyways, Quillin would only be a gatekeeper in the ol’ days, know what I’m sayin’?!?

Samuel L Jackson

Stevens would probably beat Quillin. Puts WBO belt into perspective at 160lbs, man.

Tomato Can

megeski is quite a character ot side the ring. I was kind of pulling for him in this fight, but it looked as though he didn’t belong in the ring with Stevens…

once upon a time the best middle”s fought each other. now like the hw they fight gatekeepers.

Pardon, that was Jose Torres. Still a journeyman fighting lighter than Majewski does and still KOed him

Posted January 25, 2014 9:21 am

Majewski got KOed by Cotto’s journeyman brother Jose. This was neve going to any other way than a Stevens KO, but I was impressed how easy it was for him.

GG walked through Stevens, but Stevens can punch. He can still figure in the division. Majewski was taking a calculated gamble here and it didn’t pay off. He is hardly going to reach top level now. Gennady Golovkin is THE man at 160 lbs these days, it seems, until someone proves otherwise and the likes of Martinez, Sturm, Quillin, Geale etc need to step up to the challenge.

Me gav

Good comeback fight, he went 8 rounds against the most dangerous fighter in the division so no disgrace there. Want to see more of Stevens, hard hitters always value for money. Maybe only contender level but plenty of good fights out there for him.

stevens is nothing but another american ghetto bum who got exposed. typical ‘american hope for whatever’.. wilder and jennings are next
