Boxtra…, “Khan can Fight on the inside. He dropped Maidana and Judah with inside shots.”
He committed a double foul on Judah… Holding his head down and smashing him below the belt… That’s not skillful infighting.
He caught Maidana with a lucky body shot at the end of a flurry of punches… He didn’t follow up after landing the punch…even though it took several seconds for Maidana to fall to the canvas.
I don’t call that skillful infighting either… You follow up damaging punches. Maidana got up and beat the crap out of Khan in the late rounds ripping him with brutal uppercuts on the inside and Khan tried to hold ineffectively and got many assists from Joe Cortez, who broke up non-clinches where MM had a hand free to punch.Posted January 17, 2014 12:23 am

Boxtradamus – Yes that would have been interesting to see if legend and world light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins could teach Amir Khan some defence skills.
But I will doubt that Khan could learn Hopkins skills as Khan is in my book a good boxer and top material but not a dominant one and a little over-hyped as PRO.
Bernard Hopkins is a tough old school boxer who have worked harder then many boxers to develop his skills and physical preparations he have masterd. Hopkins is a very rare athlete type.Posted January 13, 2014 6:43 pm
By the way who has the longer reach?Posted January 13, 2014 6:41 pm
The Fight will be GOOD as long as it lasts. Offense has never been Khan’s problem. He has MUCH of it. His problem has been Defense. TOO bad that Emmanuel Steward is no longer alive to teach tlKhan the hit and hold strategy to bolster his Defense. He should hire Bernard Hopkins to teach him some Defensive SKILLS. Bernard RARELY gets hit on the chin which is what Khan needs to learn how to DO.Posted January 13, 2014 5:40 pm
Ive come around to the idea that Khan is about as good as any other opponent for Floyd. At least Khan can win rounds with his speed. What other opponent at 147 can cause Floyd problems or win rounds?Posted January 13, 2014 7:24 am
Khan doesn’t care about having a glass chin. Khan doesn’t care that Floyd will KO him. Khan just wants a retirement pay day. This fight is a joke. Khan is simply cashing out. Guaranteed Khan will retire after collecting his Floyd lottery money. We deserve better. Floyd only has four fights left. A fight with Khan is a waste of a fight. Disgraceful.Posted January 13, 2014 4:50 am
Lara will give mayweather a boxing lesson him and sergio will both beat mayweather , he will frustruate mayweather like judah did in the early rounds exept lara will do it throught the whole fight ,mayweather will try to put pressure on lara just like trout did and lara will make him pay for it , mayweather is a good boxer but lara is on a league of his ownPosted January 13, 2014 4:49 am
Khan can Fight on the inside. He dropped Maidana and Judah with inside shots. The problem IS that he can’t defend on the inside. He’s a typical Roach trained Fighter with mostly Offense and very little Defense. And its going to take Hunter more than one or two Fights to change that.
According to Compubox Khan is the 6th BEST Offensive Fighter in the ENTIRE Sport based on connect rate. The problem IS that Floyd is the 2nd BEST Defender and BEST Offensive Fighter. SO the mismatch HERE is Floyd’s Offense vs Khan’s Defense as Khan doesn’t even register in the Defensive rankings.
To make a long story short Mayweather by British BULLDOGG-ED stoppage.Posted January 13, 2014 3:10 am
Khan won’t be tough for Floyd unless he falls through his ass in this fight.
I’ve seen that happen to Lewis… Duran… Leonard… Robinson… Ali… Jones… even Holmes. They showed up for an easy opponent—and weren’t ready to fight.. They got hammered.. Floyd hasn’t done that yet — but it could happen to anybody if they take somebody lightly.
Floyd shouldn’t have any problems with Khan. The reason is: everyone knows Khan’s weaknesses. He can’t fight inside and can’t clinch effectively. He gets on his bicycle and starts running. When that happens the fight is over. Floyd is a much better infighter and inside defender than Roy Jones Jr. was… Floyd is also a better attacker and he’ll knock Khan out.
Roy would have had a tough time with a Khan clone … but not Floyd.Posted January 13, 2014 2:41 am

GOOD point by Jones but TOO bad that giving a man problems is not the objective. Giving him a LOSS is the objective and Khan can’t DO that against Floyd.Posted January 12, 2014 8:47 pm

IMO Khan should not be considered to fight the main boxer in boxing,,not even close,,Khan has great speed, good power with warrior heart but his chin is his biggest weakness,,,the last 2 guys that beat him can’t be in the ring with PFM, the last 2 guys he barely beat can’t be in the ring with PFM,,,this smells like a set up to takes blind boxing fan’s cash,,,Khan should be rebuilding his career due to his last 4 fights in which he didn’t show much,,,not fighting the top guy at this time,,,PFM looking for an easy pay day,,but Im sure most smart fans won’t buy this crap fight,,,PFM should get revenge for his lil bro and fight Maidana,,,I know PFM will beat him but better story line,,,PFM is so much better than everyone at 147lbs it’s not fun,,,but it is what it is,,PFM is a 147lbs and he should fight to top welters,,,not a Khan that hasn’t beat any top welter yet,,,PeacePosted January 12, 2014 4:49 pm

Can someone tell me how many fights Khan has had at 147.Posted January 12, 2014 3:57 pm
Problem is Khan runs in with punches, his body is there before his feet are and that can get you hurt. He likes to trade, something he cannot do unless he is fighting a light puncher. He has a warrior mentality which will get him KOd unfortunately.Posted January 12, 2014 3:53 pm
He got paid for those comments!Posted January 12, 2014 3:32 pm
you”ve got to love modern boxing. thats why we have five or six belts per division so c level fighters like khan can get one.Posted January 12, 2014 3:30 pm
Look, Khan’s chin is always a question. He does have some skills and a decent jab and good speed, but he rushes in too much and fights in the amateur style trying to earn points. His head is straight up with no movement. His offense is his defense. He does have a big frame with long arms and can hit pretty well. Can he give Mayweather a fight, yes if he’s under control and uses that jab often. He has to apply smart pressure. It’s a long, long shot, but he has a minuscule chance of an upset if he does everything perfectly for all 12 rounds and his chin holds up. Khan is a good amateur, but has never panned out as a professional.Posted January 12, 2014 3:27 pm
So it appears that we, the fans, are powerless to stop a Mayweather/Khan bout; therefore, I propose that we all get ready for the inevitable outcome and make sure that we are ready to laugh so hard that our ribs hurt. Personally, I find that Amir’s chicken walk is always tremendous fun!Posted January 12, 2014 3:10 pm
Khan got blasted brutally inside 1 round by Bredis Prescott. His chin and endurance in a distance fight are liabilities, as is his boxing IQ, and Floyd will have the answers to Amir’s speed. Floyd stops him.Posted January 12, 2014 2:56 pm
Totally agree. Mosley caught him in round 2. From round 3 Mayweathe r has them figured out and theres nothing anyone cando about it. Khan would have to go hell for leather the first 3 roundsPosted January 12, 2014 2:55 pm
He will end up just like the rest of Mayweathers victims. Once he starts stinging them with those lightening quick jabs they think twice about coming forward. Mayweather has enough power to keep anyone at bay then he picks them off when they retreat. Guerrero and Alvarez prime examples. Both smarter than Khan yet they were still left bemused and bewildered. Alvarez especially looked totally lost and frustrated. Khan will get easily frustrated and then it will be light out…..all out!!Posted January 12, 2014 2:50 pm
Khan will give Floyd problems, falling awkwardly.Like Jack Bodell.Posted January 12, 2014 2:47 pm
Yes Khan may give Mayweather hands problems.Posted January 12, 2014 2:43 pm
Khan thinks of himself as an elite fighter. However, his record shows he is a D+ figher. He has a weak chin and no defense. His only strengths are a sloppy speed and good height, which he seems to underused against smaller fighters. Mayweather will KO Khan easily. Mayweather has a lethal right hand. He has power enough to KO fighters with weak chins or idiots like Victor Ortiz.Posted January 12, 2014 2:41 pm
There is no money in a fight with Lara. Not to mention still not sold on Lara. His fight with Molina should of been a loss even though Molina likes to grab and hold worse than Ruiz. He also has unfinished business with Vanes.Posted January 12, 2014 2:34 pm
Mayweather Vs Lara is a better option than Khan.Posted January 12, 2014 2:30 pm
This is a good fight khan is better than a lot of people think and is a former 2time world champ is chin lets him down somtimes but he always trys to get back up to win plus didnt here many people complaning about other boxers like tomas hearns.prince naz hammed.tommy morrison.michael moorer.that all went down often but where good exiting fighters i like to see drama and knock downs in a fight and floyd will beat khan but it be exciting while it lasts and khan could make it a good fight if he comes with a plan not to get caught up in a brawlPosted January 12, 2014 2:26 pm
I swear it feels like Pacquioa JUST got KTFO yesterday, the KO was so damn good.Posted January 12, 2014 1:20 pm
Ok my apologies, He has lost 2 of his last 3 fights. How can he be champion. Is that better?Posted January 12, 2014 1:19 pm
Check Floyds resume and you will see slick fighters or boxers on his resume. Just because he hasn’t fought anybody faster than him doesn’t mean much. Not very many people out there that are faster than him.Posted January 12, 2014 1:18 pm
“Pac just lost 2 in a row.”
This is totally incorrect, Peej. Pac has lost two in a row but not “just.” He just beat Brandon Rios. His two losses in a row were prior to beating Rios. At least say things in a manner that is fair to Pacquiao. “Just” means it just happened, and that ain’t so.Posted January 12, 2014 1:17 pm
I pretty much agree with Roy. While I don’t think Khan deserves a fight with Mayweather, he will present problems until Mayweather strarts finding that chin.Posted January 12, 2014 1:08 pm
Floyd doesn’t fight slick fighters and doesn’t fight many guys with speed. Im not saying this will be a good fight but it would be interesting style wise. please no Maidana: just another slow face-first brawler like Ortiz, Guerrero, etc…Posted January 12, 2014 12:53 pm
i honestly cant see Khan giving mayweather any problems. I hope he does so we can see what mayweather is like when he’s not getting his own way, but i just dont see it. After khan he should fight bradley.Posted January 12, 2014 12:51 pm
Pac just lost 2 in a row. How is he the real champ? I am not for him fighting Khan either, Bradley deserves the fight the most but unfortunately he is with Arum. I also think Maidana has earned the fight. He is also on a win streak and owns a title. But he is just to slow for Floyd and Floyd would take him apart. But he also deserves it. Also with another win, maybe 2 Porter would of also deserved the fight. Lets see what he does.Posted January 12, 2014 12:23 pm

Khan’s Cuz Achmed
Let me clear a couple things up. First of all murder is disgusting no matter your race/religion. Like I said I wasn’t talking of that but simply knocking someone’s head off. Technically that is even an overstatement considering the head’s are merely bloodied and bruised in the ring and not actually “knocked off”. Never meant to insult or offend anyone other than perhaps Amir’s future opponents if they have the stones to step in the ring with him. I am in a region that hasn’t dealt with the issues you are speaking of and am sorry to hear of the incident you referred to in London. Best wishes to you and no hard feelings for the misunderstanding. Hope the feeling is mutual. Now back to boxing: Amir will reign in 2014 and Mayweather is going down!Posted January 12, 2014 10:51 am
@Khan’s Cuz Achmed:
Well, if the idea of Muslims beheading people for being “infidels” were something belonging to the distant past (e.g. the time of your beloved “Prophet”, who did indeed like to behead “infidels”), that might be okay. In the present situation, however, in which there are cases of extremist Muslims actually beheading people all over the world, it’s really f***ing sick, and just reinforces stereotypes against Muslims in general, so I suggest you steer clear of that sort of language and stick to talking about sport like the rest of us.
I’d also advise you to stop falsely claiming to be Amir Khan’s cousin, and try and be a little more realistic about your heroes chances. Yes, he’s very fast and talented, but he has already been knocked down ten times in his (very short) career, and it’s very likely that he ever fought Maidana again (especially at 147, at which weight Khan has never fought), he would get sparked out good and proper, just as he would if he fought Provodnikov, Matthysse, Garcia, Thurman, Guerrero, Rios, Pacquiao, Marquez or Mayweather.Posted January 12, 2014 10:37 am

Floyd has problems: more cash and a knockout. Facing Khan will solve all of his problems. Khan is the answer for Floyd. His chin breaks if hit with a pillow. How much more if touched by Floyd’s beanbag of a right hand. Zzzzzzz…..Posted January 12, 2014 10:00 am

Thanks for your concern “Martin” but I am not one of the extremist idiots. I only use the term “Behead” as in knocking someone’s head off with the power of ones fists. Any other way is simply disgusting and stupid. #Notamurderer #KOMachine #KingKhan2014Posted January 12, 2014 9:34 am
I see that the (very sick) “Khan’s Cuz Achmed” is still fantasising about “beheading the infidels”. In light of the fact that two of his fellow Muslims actually did behead a man in broad daylight on a London street, I suggest that the ESB moderator send the IP address of this “Achmed” to the police. He’s clearly a sick fantasist, but then so were the 7/7 bombers. Such people are not rational, and when they start ranting about “beheading the infidel”, the best thing to do is alert the counter-terrorism police in case they have aspirations to become “martyrs”.Posted January 12, 2014 9:04 am

Freddie Roach Ate My Hamster
Khan’s biggest problem is and always has been a lack of common sense. He tries toe-to-toe at the wrong times and gets too emotional during fights. Nobody could accuse Floyd of either, other than the hissy fit sucker punch against Ortiz. If Khan followed Roach’s instructions he’d have stayed his distance from Garcia & stopped him on cuts. As he lacked ring intelligence & left himself open against a desperate, world class fighter, it’s his own fault that he grasped defeat from the jaws of victory and stalled his career again. In terms of skill & speed Khan could give Floyd a good fight. In terms of boxing intelligence he’ll get pasted.Posted January 12, 2014 6:04 am
I like Khan. He doesn’t trash anyone, doesn’t curse and speaks well on TV when he’s a guest commentator. He’s also very skillful in the ring and could be great if he gets his defence sorted out. Anyway good luck to him. Khan is a fine ambassador for the sport. So what if he falls short. I’m still a fan of his.Posted January 12, 2014 6:03 am
Khan gives everyone problems until he gets hit..Posted January 12, 2014 5:38 am
Mayweather figured Oscar out. He noticed he wasnt throwing the jab and relied on cornering him while flailing away on his arms and shoulders! Oscar had no plan B! His size was his greatest asset and he used it in a bullying type of fashion. Mayweather figured him out alright, it just didnt look dominant because Mayweather was the smaller guy wearing heavyweight gloves that Oscar “insisted” on during negotiations!Posted January 12, 2014 5:18 am
Mansworld – mayweather didn’t ” figure it out” oscar at all that’s bellony he did nothing different all night exept that oscar throwed less punches late in the fight because he was tired chasing floyed but still in my book did more then mayweather itwas close but by no means mayweather ” figure Oscar out” give me a break !Posted January 12, 2014 3:38 am
Anonymous – exactly! You don’t win fights with only “assumptions “you got to show it in the ring because styles make fights and we can never know only guess!Posted January 12, 2014 3:35 am
Adrian point being speed alone wont beat Floyd. Who cares about a guy giving another guy problems if he still gets beat? No point at all guys with a nice Jab give Floyd problems as well like Oscar did until he figured him out too. Oooh big deal a guy with speed they still get there ass beat, And a mere con will be no different. Guys with fast hands he simply counters them and goes to the body and they stop throwing every time. Kahn is no better than anyone else at this point he seen it all before guys with power, speed, a good shin it dont matter they all get beat and before the fight they say the same thing this or that guy can beat him but no one does.Posted January 12, 2014 3:21 am
It’s funny most due hard floyed fans are against khan fight but they push for Maidana fight …lol I wonder whyPosted January 12, 2014 2:56 am
No mercy – you make it sound like only mayweather managed to beat Judah but the reality is thAt Judah before floyed was beaten many times by the likes of baldomir and later cotto and khan who both stoped him while mayweather struggled early on in the fight and the question is why ? Because my friend Judah is a pure boxer and has speed and is no Ortiz or Guerrero who go forward and are easy target to hit , khan never lost a boxing match yeah he was stopped before but those stoppages were because he wanted to trade with punchers like Garcia and (Maidana who he barley won )trying to prove to critics that he can take a punch and that is naive and it cost him but make no mistake out boxing him is not easy because he is young fast and tall for ww and if mayweather fights him it will definitely be a good fight mark my word!Posted January 12, 2014 2:51 am
“You need a man like Sugar Ray Robinson.”
Hahahaha! Not asking for much.
To be honest I think Pacman beats Fraud that’s why Fraud keeps ducking him with a new set of excuses. And GGG at 154 would tear Fraud apart in less than 6 rounds. No way Fraud will fight him. Garcia has the power to KO Fraud as does Maidana. Fraud has to make sure he ‘cherry picks’ his next opponent just in case he’s a ‘real’ threat.
With Duckweather you’re dealing with the greatest con artist in this history of boxing. Even legends of the sport say the same thing. Fraud, is a Fraud.Posted January 12, 2014 2:41 am
Look, I’m really trying to see what it is that Khan brings to the table against Floyd, and frankly, the idea that Amir’s speed will present a problem for Floyd makes no sense to me as Floyd is a complete fighter, and his composite skills will neutralize Khan’s speed. Short of Amir being permitted to have sharpened blades in one glove and lead weight in the other, I cannot see his speed presenting a problem for Floyd. Furthermore, I believe that Khan should have to wear a court jester’s colors for his trunks. And I believe that I’ve already seen what this bout will look like as I found a You Tube of Woody Allen boxing a kangaroo back decades ago.Posted January 12, 2014 2:25 am
Points win for Khan, wide 117-111, might have to knock Mayweather out though to win, remember the Castillo fight, judges cards are marked.Posted January 12, 2014 2:03 am
Floyd is beyond all fighters maybe except one. His a veteran who makes zero mistakes on the ring. To beat Mayweather you must be a veteran as he is or make him make a mistake he will forever regret.Posted January 12, 2014 1:40 am
All those recent beat downs have Roy J. Jr seem double. Khan is done collecting his last checks from boxing. Three years ago with Roach I would have given Khan a good chance. The Khan who beat Judah and Maidana was perfect for Floyd. Today, Khan would not last more than 5 rounds.Posted January 12, 2014 1:34 am
Who cares its not the first guy with speed Floyd beat. He has speed and well and a whole lot more accurate. A mere con will make the first 3 round competitive after that its all down him He will stop throwing because he will be eating counters and right hand leads all night. Just like Zab, Shane and plenty pther fast guys Floyd simply makes them stop throwing Kahn will get his ass beat easily. All the gusy thet these so called experts said could beat Floyd are give him problems ened up looking stupid reason being he is hard to hit and Kahn is very one dementional he has spped but no power and he is easy to hit. Ask Garcia. To beat a guy like Floyd with his defense speed and ring IQ. You need a guy that can adjust as he does and get him out of his rythm. To beat a complete fight you have to be a complete fighter. Guys withh speed and no defense ot guy that can hit hard with no defense he beats easy. You need a man like Sugar Ray Robinson.Posted January 12, 2014 1:22 am
Those who really understand boxing or have boxed before would agree with what jones is saying ! Styles make fights and if khan is focused and well prepared he can get the job done!Posted January 12, 2014 1:06 am
