Floyd XYLOCAINE Mayweather
Winetaster, go screw yourself. You guys are pathetic. You claim Mayweather should fight so and so, such as Pac and Canelo, but you don’t want Pac to fight Canelo. Go away. Hypocrites.Posted December 15, 2013 9:49 pm
Proud African, Shove away your prejudice and use your eyes . You saw it last night. You are too much, man. No one on this site is as one nsided prejudice as you. I respect Mayweather beause he’s proven his worth and in no way was he ever as braggart as this punk Broner. I am a huge fan of MAidana after last night even though I know his realm as WW champ will be brief because his style won’t work against the sharper boxers in the division but for one night just like James Buster Douglas, he gave the civilized fans what they wanted. If Maidana’s people are smart, they’ll insist Broner fight Thurman before either one gets him next. Let Maidana enjoy his “good feeling” longer. Remember J Marquez’s word, …enjoy the good feeling.Posted December 15, 2013 9:40 pm
This Ref guy, comes across as extremely belligerent, inept and partial. I’ve never seen a referee who instead of verbally telling them to “break,” he physically removes a fighters hands off the other. Talk about lack of tact and professionalism. Further, how many times did he warn Broner about elbows and pushing but not take any points. However, when it came to a clinch in which Broner tied up Maidana’s gloves, Maidana instinctively and rightfully merely moved (not shoved, nor intentionally) his head upwards. So as to appease Broner’s oscar winning performance he deducts a point from Maidana but not for Broner’s multiple holding, shoving and pushing with elbows ( a Floyd specialty). I’ve always said, the best referees are Tony Weeks, Kenny Bayless, Steve Smoger and a distant fourth….Jay Nady…in that order.Posted December 15, 2013 8:53 pm
Floyd needs to step up to the plate and for once start facing fighters who aren’t has beens who just come for a pay check. Bradley has been waiting years, and while everyone knows he lost his fight with Pac, Bradley is a much more deserving fighter over Maidana. Maidana is very formidable but would not be as effective as ?????? Bradley, Thurman or Porter! Anything less is just smoke and mirrors.Posted December 15, 2013 8:40 pm
Redman….you’re still creating smoke and mirrors here…..there’s a very important reason why Floyd insisted Canelo melt down to 154lb before facing him. Canelo rehydrating 15lbs after weigh in wasn’t going to help him any. Floyd instead should have fought him at his natural weight…..the way he supposedly did when he faced Cotto………although……..fighting for a title when you don’t fight for it at the divisions limit is called……….A CATCHWEIGHT fight. This as everyone knows, doesn’t merely apply to the person holding the belt….but the opponent…..in this case Floyd. He’s won ALL his titles at catchweight by never having fought at the division limit for any of them. It’s bad enough he doesn’t fight at 154 but then busts out with the smoke and mirrors and coerces his opponents to do the same.Posted December 15, 2013 8:32 pm

How was Broner “a bully” anymore than 90% of boxers who meltdown to gain physical advantage or the perception of it on fight night… Some of you guys are SOOOOO confused, you will pity Canelo because he lost while having 15 pounds he gains after weigh-in yet call Broner a bully for doing what MOST of these guys do to some extent….I give Broner credit he took a BIG leap in weight and competition over the past 19 months and paid the price… Being Floyd Mayweather Jr is simply NOT easy or EVERYONE would be doing it, winning the fights easily and making the BIG $$$$$$$ Broner was welcomed to the DARK side of boxing where there are NO pats on the back, only taunts and jeers…. We are gonna see if he can comeback with a vengeance and show some of the guts he displayed in the 11th and 12th rounds after taking that abuse…Posted December 15, 2013 3:43 pm

Broner got his ass beat to the ground. He was towed out of the ring at the end of the match by his corner while fans threw beer and cokes on him. How embarrassing!! He could not talk because he was OUT on his feet because Maidana forked him up. See what happens when you disrespect everybody and the sport, you wind up getting pounded into the canvas and run out of the ring by barking dogs.Posted December 15, 2013 12:34 pm
Yes, I think Thurman would KO Maidana provided he learned from Soto and remembers to keep his hands up in the first round. I would still like to see Thurman vs Broner if the rematch is not made immediately for Maidana or Thurman can’t get a shot at Maidana. Would be a good come back fight for Broner if the rematch is not made or a career boost for Thurman.Posted December 15, 2013 12:30 pm
Broner totally fell apart right before my eyes. He was simply awful in everything he did. He was either exposed or froze in his anointing fight to crown him one of the best. I saw the following:
He was lost once he was dropped, was looking for help from the referee, kept his head up in the air, leaned back from Maidana’s left hook and the overhand right, which were landing all night, stayed against the ropes even after taking a beating to the head and body, his corner was confused, Broner kept looking into the audience in between rounds and talking to who knows who, threw very few punches, he looked like a deer in headlights, he tried faking the impact of the headbutt to get a DQ win, he simply looked as if he were a lost child that was looking for someone to save him. I though he was a 100 times better, but his true character has been exposed. He may never recover after this. Then the people throwing beers at him. Broner brought this upon himself. A humble man with humility is always respected. An egotistical, big mouth is always humbled.Posted December 15, 2013 12:28 pm
Maidana sa GBP fighter he’s not facing Pacquiao that said the angle would be “Big Bro” looking out for Lil Bro a perversion of the Klitschko model after Wlad absorbed his TKOS losses….WW
Maidana has never been a cakewalk for any of his opponents, win or lose. Because of that, I think Pacquiao should fight him. Rios was terrible. Maidana would be a more exciting, more dangerous, therefore, more bankable opponent.Posted December 15, 2013 12:19 pm
Maidana may be a sellable opponent for Mayweather as a “revenge match” for his “Little Brother” he would of course lose in laughable fashion but they might be able to make this somewhat bankable… Interesting turn of eventsPosted December 15, 2013 12:11 pm
Thurman will KO Maidana when they meet.Posted December 15, 2013 12:01 pm
If I were in Maidana’s camp, no rematch. Broner had his chance and blew it. In a rematch the other fighter will figure a way to win because they already know what to expect by studying the videotape. The element of surprise, which Maidana used to a tee, is gone in a rematch. So, let Broner squirm and cry, but I would move on.Posted December 15, 2013 11:46 am
If the ref let the fight continue after Maidana raised his head forcefully to escape a head lock,I think Chino would have sent Broner down and out.Posted December 15, 2013 11:38 am

cole has never been a good referee , you could see how unsure he was through out the fight , the first time broner humped marcos he should have went to the corner and sternly warned broner that would not be tolerated in a world title fight , marcos later returned the humping further humiliating bronerPosted December 15, 2013 11:03 am
The ref was unfair. He was partial to Broner. I am so happy that Maidana did humanity a favor. I was hoping he knocked him out by the 11th or 12th round.Posted December 15, 2013 10:42 am

So nice to see The Problem solved. Not only did Broner lose, but he also embarrassed himself by humping Maidana’s ass, being super overly dramatic following the headbutt, and then running out of the ring crying to avoid the post-fight interview. Like know the money is at welterweight, but it doesn’t seem like his power has carried over to 147. He can come back and still have a great career, but I think he’d be best served going down to 135 or 140.Posted December 15, 2013 10:38 am
I was indeed impressed by Maidana’s boxing improvement. Robert Garcia is fast coming to the fore with his stable of fighters. I like what he’s doing. Since being totally outboxed by DEVON ALEXANDER, Maidana has come on in leaps and bounds and both his jab and engine have been polished to a gleaming shine!
HAVOC, THIS is what the real Boxtradamus said:

Barely 100 comments the day after the fight?? It seems that Broner’s fans, like Broner don’t know how to be gracious in defeat. I bet he blames the loss on that headbutt (to the chin) even though Maidana had won every round up until that point anyway.Posted December 15, 2013 10:12 am

“What’s the loud mouth gonna do now? Humbled and humiliated by a humble Argentine farm boy! Not gonna help with his rep on the street. I see Broner entering the murky world of crime a few years sooner than predicted.”
Don’t be so hasty to jump the gun. Broner didn’t turn into a pussy overnight. He just got the whupping of his life. Which he well deserved.Posted December 15, 2013 9:56 am
“I told you all Maidana would drop broner and beat him. ”
Great call by you, P.E. as it certainly was against the prevailing tide for this fight. A drop in the tide, I also said Broner would win by UD but I mentioned that if Broner didn’t fight smart Maidana would get him.
I just had no idea Broner would get him that bad. Marcos is incredibly powerful for his size but I was more impressed with the intelligence and craft that Maidana displayed. He did not plod forward, he was not predictable, his jab was effective, and he was relentless in his attack.
I am as gratified as you that Broner got his but kicked all over that ring. He has been a disgrace to the sport and has acted, across the board in the most dishonorable way–especially toward his opponents. Hopefully, after last night, Broner will learn the meaning of the words, humility, class, and honor.Posted December 15, 2013 9:53 am
Cole definitely was trying to assist Broner. The time from knock down to the fight resuming in the second was an eternity. He warned both that they would loose points if they continued with elbows. Broner did and lost not a point. He was allowed to milk the second knock down too after the ‘head but’. Amazingly the judges were not bent. I thought they’d hand the verdict to Broner although he list by 6-7 rounds. What’s the loud mouth gonna do now? Humbled and humiliated by a humble Argentine farm boy! Not gonna help with his rep on the street. I see Broner entering the murky world of crime a few years sooner than predicted.Posted December 15, 2013 9:48 am
“Thank you Brian Kenny for lecturing the commentators,”
Farmboxer, I had Maidana ahead by four points going into the 8th round. I have no idea where the panel got it’s scores. I was even disappointed in Malignaggi’s scores at the end of six rounds where he had the two even.Posted December 15, 2013 9:41 am
Right on Mr. Strauss. Great article.
One thing though, you forgot to point out how Ref Cole basically saved Broner from a TKO in the second round. He made an ordeal out of getting Maidana to a neutral corner, he took too long to start the count, everything he did in that moment looked to me–and to other fans–that Cole was doing all he could to help Broner survive. Cole continued to “aid” Broner throughout the fight.
Oh well, Maidana had to work twice as hard because of Cole’s “assistance” to Broner, but in the end, the man gave the boy his proper whupping.Posted December 15, 2013 9:38 am

Now he should change his name to Broner ” the embarrassment” lol. Though I picked him thinking he was going to use his attributes instead he came in totally disrespecting the power of Miadana and paid dearly for it, the result of believing in your own hype. That’s one thing you will never see in Ward or Floyd and both are super confident.Posted December 15, 2013 9:30 am
In the midst of all this we saw a damn good fight both guys had to do in to get thru that bout Maidana is a tough tough fighter and always has been, Broner is not stopping guys in their tracks at 147 and got a harsh intro to the BIG leagues….It’s gonna be interesting to see where he goes from here, if he does the usual (new trainer etc)Posted December 15, 2013 9:29 am
he had no heart you are wrong on that 1 point he was getting a beating but showed hrt as for the headbutt maid had him buzzed so broner held him for to long so he got frustrated and give him a little butt i watched fight 2 now and it wasnt a big head butt he did show some cowdice trying to steal the figh but in the end boxing won tonight and 1 hype jobs bubbles was poppedPosted December 15, 2013 9:27 am
Broner lost more than the WBA title last night. More than his undefeated record that was questionable. He lost a chance to be a real fighter, to be known as a tough guy even in defeat. He could have shed that image that he has created into something more. Instead he humps Maidana and then takes a beating for 12 rounds and gets bent over himself. He cried to the ref after getting knocked down. He then flops after a very weak head butt. Man card pulled, brother card revoked. Then cowardly runs out of the ring at the end of the fight. Not only did Broner get exposed as a cheap carbon copy. He showed his chin is suspect, his character is flawed and worst of all. He has no heart, that is a sin in boxing. He had little respect among the boxing community, last night he lost self-respect. “The Problem?” More like the “The Tinman.”Posted December 15, 2013 9:22 am

Many saw the demise of Broner a long time coming. The kid gets hits too much and he doesn’t throw enough punches. At welter his power is mediocre. Ahhh, Broner. This was supposed to be tailor made for him (I thought so too), but I guess he never learned from the De Leon fight how to handle crude sluggers.
Broner is still very young and he showed a lot of heart in the loss. He should drop back down in weight as far as he can and compete where he can fall back on his physical attributes whilst honing his skills. Maybe when he’s a bit more matured he’ll have the skillset to handle the bigger guys (i.e. Mayweather and Pacquiao were far more established when they moved that far north of their “natural” divisions… not that Broner looks to be in that esteemed group by any means).
But an awesome win for Maidana. Couldn’t have happened for a nicer guy. Always good to see an underdog turn the tables and keep us on our toes!Posted December 15, 2013 8:35 am

Broner v Mayweather was hilarious then, they were actually setting that up, as if it was a forgone conclusion that Broner would beat Maidana, Khan beat Maidana after Maidana had beat Ortiz, made him quit, Khan is several levels above Broner, and proved it. I just don’t understand why anyone thought Broner was any good, obviously bought into the HBO- Showtime hype and could not see the woods for the trees, so to speak or another anology, some people really need to understand Boxing.Posted December 15, 2013 6:57 am

Even when he hits the heavy bag, his mouth is wide open.
Too funny, Broner is a broken jaw waiting to happen.
TARK <<Maidana has an arching overhand right that could give Broner some problems, because of the way Broner rolls right hands. That will make the fight interesting.
…. “On both days, Broner boxed consecutively for over twenty minutes without a break, working my guys over to the body and head.”
That’s when he’s in wind down mode — the week of the fight.
That’s something boxers do today they didn’t do in my day. They’ll box up to 11 rounds without taking a break between rounds. Time is called for 10 seconds while a fresh sparring partner steps in. It’s crazy, but it builds massive endurance for the championship rounds. You need that stamina if you’re an attacker who walks people down and doesn’t give them a break. That’s the thing about Broner — when you want to take a rest he doesn’t let you.
If you want to win a major marathon — where all the best runners in the world are showing up — you don’t run 5 miles a day. You run 13 miles a day at a blistering pace and without a break.
Broner-Maidana is a fantastic matchup. They both love to attack hard and throw hard. Broner wins by KO. Maidana has an arching overhand right that could give Broner some problems, because of the way Broner rolls right hands. That will make the fight interesting. This fight is good — but there’s another fight I want to see.
Broner vs Porter will be a freakin’ barn burner.
Good ol sredmomd hey! Good to see his predictions flooredPosted December 15, 2013 6:10 am
there are some swayable, snap-headed sheep on here and I’m not one if them. Broner is getting stretched. people are comparing Alexander to Broner. Alexander is more of a tech.ically sound boxer. Broner is not. Broner is mimicking Floyd’s defense and he’s not great with it. And Alexander didn’t blow Maidana out. Broner has never truly been punched by such power and Maidana can take anyrhing.
Broner is better than Maidana in all areas. The only chance Maidana has is to land a lucky punch. Broner has advantages in speed, movement/agility, defense, reflexes, counter punching and every other thing. Maidana has the perfect style for Broner. Broner will test Maidana’s power and speed for 2 rounds and then the massacre will begin. Broner will put on a great boxing performance and win a UD or most likely stop Maidana in the later rounds. Maidana is tough, has a great fighting spirit and will not quit. The referee stops the slaughter. The uppercuts, jabs and straight right hands will be the weapons to dismantle Maidana. Next, Broner has his hair combed and whatever else he has planned. This fight makes Broner a star. I don’t like the guy myself, but he has a lot of talent.
sweet! congrats to Maidana!Posted December 15, 2013 6:06 am
Maidana exposed BronerPosted December 15, 2013 5:57 am
Khan only managed to beat Madiana because two people helped him, the referee and Alex Ariza, who some say had pumped Khan full of his “special milkshakes” to help Khan’s punch resistance. A shake-free Khan would have got knocked out by Marcos in that fight and in any rematch Maidana would shatter Khan inside six rounds. Khan is basically in retirement unless he gets a lottery fight with Floyd, which he does not deserve. If Khan gets the Floyd fight next May, Khan will have been out of the ring for 13 months! How can anyone say Khan v Floyd will be competitive or worthwhile? It would not be. Floyd should give Maidana the shot instead.Posted December 15, 2013 5:55 am
Not everyone was for him and now dissing him, he has lost before but the judges got it wrong as usual. I knew damn well he was gonna get hurt in the Maidana fight, I even predicted a stoppage which almost happened.Posted December 15, 2013 5:43 am
not a world beater and not world class. retire!Posted December 15, 2013 5:41 am
Broner is not worthy
looked average at bestPosted December 15, 2013 5:40 am

” HE CAN ALWAY’S BE AN ACTOR OR ‘STUNTMAN .Posted December 15, 2013 5:31 am
boxing expert – the ref wasn’t doing maidana any favours, he was just making broner fight. makes me think what would have happened if cole had refereed hatton vs mayweather when cortez wouldnt let hatton fightPosted December 15, 2013 5:14 am
Great fighters adapt and win floyd as much as I hate to say it adapts and wins and usually in an easy fashionPosted December 15, 2013 5:12 am
Boxing expert you would be one of those guys that makes excuses for all your failings in life. Floyd keeps winning because he adapts broner is obviously someone who cannotPosted December 15, 2013 5:10 am
Problem solved :)Posted December 15, 2013 4:52 am
one of the biggest reasons maidana pulled it off and nobody has mentioned it is because the referee lawerence cole who did a great job made broner fight – from the first round when maidana was roughing broner up and looking to cole – cole made it clear there would be no pushing no elbows no special treatment no protection. cole should ref all klitschko and mayweather fights!!!Posted December 15, 2013 4:49 am
And anonymous tour boy got whooped stop making excuses, your a fool he would have lost in any ring in any world with any ref or judgePosted December 15, 2013 4:45 am
Boxingexpert or (so called) he is no floyd got a whooping by a better fighter now he has lost his selling power, floyd as boring as he is still has an 0 in the loss column. Broner is not even I. Garcias class….BUM PRETENDERPosted December 15, 2013 4:44 am
I hope to see manny and mayweather fight it would be nice and it could end up like maidana and broner?Posted December 15, 2013 4:42 am
The ref was a good pic for a Maidana fight due to the allowing of holding and punching for a longer time. You can see the frustration on Broner face and actions hoping for the ref to step in early.Posted December 15, 2013 4:39 am
Broner got his ass whup and I was glad to see maidana pump him in the rear as he did that in another fight as well. Finally we don’t have to hear his mouth anymore because has broken it from what I heard.Posted December 15, 2013 4:34 am
no surprise after he got taggen by feather fisted pauli who exposed broner it was.a matter of time for.this to happenPosted December 15, 2013 4:33 am
Inarticulate ghetto thug tries to fake his way out when the going gets tough. Just like Hopkins.Posted December 15, 2013 4:21 am
Broner should’ve never called himself “The Problem”, because problems are meant to get solved.Posted December 15, 2013 4:12 am
Rumor is Broner has broken jaw headed to hospital.Posted December 15, 2013 4:06 am
Brian is correct in his chastisement of fellow announcers. I prefer the simple 5 point system & had Maidana 11 to 2, not even close. Good hope for Broner as a Acting future, if he comes back to boxing stay at 135 or less. A Great & expected win for Maidand.Posted December 15, 2013 4:05 am
Broner is no coward the man kept getting up and fighting its part of what made the fight so exciting and it was a good fight.Posted December 15, 2013 4:00 am
So where does broner go from here? 140? Back to 135? Or retirement?Posted December 15, 2013 3:59 am
no problem. i love it! the original is always better than the imitation.Posted December 15, 2013 3:56 am
