Ward isn’t so hot.. His fight with Dawson wasn’t even PPV – and how many fights between guys of that caliber do you see that aren’t PPV??? Ward is a very good boxer but who’s he going to fight in a PPV event??? … Mayweather-Pacquaio is the once-in-a-century fight coming next year … Guerrero would be stupid to fight Bradley. He’ll get his clock cleaned like nobody’s business.

I agree with the earlier comment of the Officer. Two woman punchers squaring off because neither of them has 147lb power and neither of them can get any other fights, so why not let the powder puffs paw at each other. This reflects and previews the sad state that the sport has put itself in, that a lightweight and a 140lb boxer are both welterweight champions and are fighting each other for a belt neither of them deserve to be fighting for. Guerreo’s match was painful to watch if you did attempt to, no power and very little skill against and even worst opponent. Bradley, built like Mr. America can not hurt a flea at 147 and he himself thought Pac Man had won their match and now they are fighting each other because they deserve each other.

Forget Bradley and Guerrero right now. The hottest guy in the game right now is Ward. Ward SPANKED Dawson like he’s never been SPANKED. He brought the SHARK out of Ward, That’s what the GREAT ones DO. They RISE to the occasion.

Great matchup. Battle of the Pretenders. Or….battle of…How The Hell You Got a Belt! Or…Battle of the Please Dont Open Your Mouth. Okay, just Battle of the Jokers.

Ari- Name 1 top fighter in his prime that Guerrero has faced. He has basically gone through 5 divisions without EVER fighting the top guy in that division. No Bam Bam, no Gamboa, no Vazquez, no Marquez… we can make the list of 100 p4p right now in the world by just looking at guys he hasn’t fought.
Bradley, wether you think he lost to Pac or not, has at least shown he can hang at the top level and has fought tough and difficult guys for years.

So I don’t think the article diminishes Guerrero, I think it’s pretty accurate on all accounts.

Posted September 25, 2012 6:13 pm

Guerro will win the fight but Bradley will get the all important decision win.

Posted September 25, 2012 5:53 pm

This article is weak. First,it diminishes Guerrero for no particular reason. Guerrero is an excellent, well-trained fighter who takes on all comers (Note: To the best of my recollection, neither Bradley nor Guerrero avoided the best fighters in their respective divisions). Although Aydin is no world beater, he was a tough, physically strong fighter who remains top-5 to 8 material in that division Second, this whole discussion about “interim” champ is silly. No reasonable boxing gives any weight to these sorts of titles, particularly now that the sanctioning authorities are creating titles out of thin air to generate more fees. And, if the writer is going to criticize Guerrero’s “interim” title, then it would seem reasonable that the writer also addresses the point that the overwhelming majority of boxing fans perceive that Bradley lost his most recent fight and that he does not deserve to be a titleholder in the welterweight division. Third, it may be that Bradley is too strong and quick for Guerrero, but we’ll never know until they get busy in the ring. Finally, this fight is much more interesting than Pacquiao-Marquez IV. As opposed to Pacquiao and Marquez, Guerrero and Bradley are in their respective primes whereas the other fighters are a bit shopworn.

I for one am glad there isn’t a Pac vs. Bradley rematch and frankly this is a far more intriguing fight.

He’s not the champ he’s the owner of a trinket he never won fair and square. There is no welterweight champ only trinket holders.

This would at least settle wether Guerrero has the goods or not and, if not, would hopefully shut him up for a while.

Posted September 25, 2012 2:07 pm

Every method and effort has been made to marginalize Timothy Bradley since he was awarded his decision over Manny Pacquiao…..and it has allowed beaten Pacquiao to avoid his rematch..and to leave the Champion …pumping his onion ….looking for a real fight

A pox on the promoters…and a pox on those who purchase arum fights

Posted September 25, 2012 2:01 pm

He deserves his rematch…or at least some respect.

Promoters are screwing up our Sport.

Just watched an interview with 72 yr old George Chuvalo…….and he was observing that one reason Boxing is different than when he was fighting…… that there aren’t enough fighters anymore…

Wonder why that is…..could it be these promoters who care so much about the sport ??or about themselves…and to hell with the sport.???

You know that Timothy Bradley deserves his rematch with Pacquiao…….all right..all right…a lot of you disagreed with the decision….
still…..Pacquiao owes the Champ a rematch !!….

Interesting fight toss up IMO.

This fight actually makes sense. Both hold belts in the division, both are skilled, both are slightly undersized, neither have exceptional power. The winner faces Malinaggi.

Now, we are NOT comparing Apples (Bradley) to Oranges (Pacquiao); Now, we are comparing Apples to Apples.

The two WOMEN PUNCHERS? Oh Yeah! I like to see this Woman vs. Woman match! I will enjoy my beer and laugh out loud watching these two throw girlie punches at each other for 12 rounds. “You can’t hurt me, ” says Mrs. Bradley. “Did Manny Pacquiao break your arms, too? I can’t feel a thing!” says Guerrero.

Who are these 2 guys? Are they new MMA contenders?

Good match. two cry babies who don’t attract any crowd

I like this one. I hope the promoters can get it done!

Good! Bradley will whup this fraud! Sick of Guerrerro’s yapping when he’s been a pro for over a decde and still hasn’t beaten one A level fighter. I am no Bradley fan but I’ll be happy to see him easily embarass Guerrerro.

Well apparently the WBC made Guerrero the mandatory for Floyd so… (actually you’d think it’d be the other way around… since Floyd’s been in jail… ) regardless I don’t see Floyd wanting to fight Robert. So Bradley vs Guerrero would be a could fight. Bradley should win though.

Oh, fer fvck’s sake—- what the hell is an ‘interim’ champion and more importantly why the hell do boxing fans swallow that nonsense!?

Rob, your biased writing is a joke. You bash Guerrero and make no mention of Bradleys fraudulent win? Pathetic. Your agenda is clear.

Any unification is good for the sport :!: However I heard Guerrero was being lined up for PBF  . Things are a bit mixed up in the Welterweight division right now & I’m confused as to who’s actually #1 in the World @ 147LB  . The UK’s Kell Brook’s been working his way up the ranking to no avail. Ricky Hatton’s coming out of retirement, but there’s no mention of if he’s gonna fight at Light-Welterweight or Welterweight. PBF is another one who can’t decide on which weight to fight at 147Lb or Light-Middleweight(154Lb) :?: Malignaggi holds the WBA belt for now, (but not for long) Confusion is Confusing which is why Boxing needs unification if it’s to survive.

Interesting match up and a good test for the Ghost..Robert is lucky that Bradly doesn’t hit hard so that will keep him in the fight for the whole 12 rounds to try and prove what he’s made of..Desert Storm has been battle tested against some of the top doggs the 140/147lbs had to offer so I have to favor him to come out victorious in this fight..

Posted September 25, 2012 3:52 am

the ghost has skills though at this weight and the problems that timmy will present robert with :!: i feel that bradley will be to much down the home straight and stop the ghost should be a great match up and fight for us fans if this fight gets made ………..
