Hey Bob, it’s a hyperB-A-R-I-C chamber, not a hyperbolic chamber. Ok?

Chavez by KO8! Martinez is no more.

if Martinez adheres to his pre-fight guarantees, he’s ALso planning to exchange artillery v. Jr. if he boxes and runs for his life, it will be an easy “W” for Jr. or a particularly unsatisfying win for Martinez, which i fear he’s willing to deliver.

All this talk about Chavez Jr. having a great chin is laughable.. who the Hell has he fought that tested his chin? What great KO artist did he fight at was his actual size??? When he does that and takes some devastating shots and gets past those shots with no issues then we can talk about Chavez Jr. having a great Chin.. but until then it’s a claim as silly as claiming Chavez Jr. is any kind of great Boxer… It’s all part of the illusion… aka Con Job…

Chavez has NEVER had the cut the ring off…he’s been matched with guys who were fine with standing right there, which is why Chavez has looked like a “monster”. Rubio was fine slugging it out, feeling that his power alone would be enough….Zbik did the same, Lee also did the same, Roach himself said “he did exactly what we thought he’d do”, which was STAND STILL, Lee had/has NO footwork and he was willing to “bang it out”. Chavez has never fought a true “boxer”, a guy who literally practices the art of “hit and not be hit”, but one who’s also willing to plant his feet in order to deliver fight changing counters. Pavlik is a good example (although Chavez is more “physically” strong) of the style that Chavez possess, if you stand there, he’ll nail you.

Agreed. I know Jr. isn’t his father or even trained by him, but who was better at cutting off the ring, then he was? I’m sure that’ll he’ll try to do exactly that. But he’ll catch a lot of leather once he does cut off the ring.

If chavez follows the right strategy–cutting the ring off & jabbing & double-jabbing–to pin SM to the ropes, Sergio will be in serious trouble…if Jr. just follows Sergio around the ring, he’ll get hammered to the ground; that’s pretty much it.

Chavez Jr. has a GREAT chin….but has his body been tested? Martinez will test it.

Posted September 14, 2012 1:22 pm

True!! Also note that Martinez is GREAT in the later rounds…he knows how to step it up.

One more thing I should also mention, is Chavez Jr. seems to have inherited his dad’s iron chin. Not only that, but from what I can tell, he doesn’t bruise easy either. Sr. was the same way. I remember thinking to myself, during the Chaves/Taylor fight, “Man, taylor’s landing a lot of punches, yet Chavez doesn’t have a mark, yet Taylor’s face was blowing up”…

Count them, Pacqauio, Kayode, Khan, and Chavez jr. have all complained about leg cramps. All of them aren’t having problems cutting weight.

Good Point! It’s kind of strange that so many of Roaches fighters have been complaining of leg cramps, isn’t it? It’s also kind of strange that PED users, often complain of leg cramps, too. Just another clue in the long line of weird things going on in boxing these days.

Give it a rest! Geez

I’m with you! I too don’t buy the “laziness”. Martinez didn’t seem to buy it either.

Posted September 14, 2012 12:45 pm

I wouldn’t count on the “laziness” of Chavez…that was blown out of proportion to get people/fans talking about Chavez “not training properly”, I believe he’s trained harder than ever….he and Roach know DAMN WELL what they’re going to be facing on Saturday, they couldn’t/can’t afford a lazy training camp….Chavez is READY! as is Martinez, the better man will win. But, I do believe that man will be Maravilla.

I still can’t believe I actually think Jr. has a good chance here. I mean he’s slower, has inferior defense, isn’t overly powerful, and hasn’t really faced great competition. However, since he joined Freddy Roach and team he’s an improved fighter. I still questioned his true authenticity though, since he’s been caught with a banned substance once, avoided a post test once, and had very strange circumstances take place concerning drug testing in his last fight. But the fact remains when he does get into the ring, he has a huge size advantage, that has been carrying him through fights. That’s why I give him a better chance than I normally would against the aging, but better fighter, Martinez.

Chavez’s conditioning hasn’t been that great either…he was suffering from leg cramps in his fight with Lee, that’s due to cutting weight.

Posted September 14, 2012 12:41 pm

Serio’s victory depends of his condition… if he can fight all 12 rounds is going to be a easy fight but if not, he is in trouble.

Marravilla looks awesome, I was worried b4 watching 24/7 but no I have no doubt. Even though all the chips r In favour of Chavez he will get a beat down…. This is sergios big stage and Chavez will just b another dance partner. 2 many punches 2 sharp 2 smart. I’m going Martinez by stoppage rnd 7. He is ready, Chavez has a loser attitude…..didn’t train hard etc etc. Beat b4 he Stept thru the ropes or laced em up

Also not buying the lazy act from Jr. But cheering on Capitao Maravilla just the same – SHAZAM!

I predict another Mosely MargaCheato type ASSWhooopin…

Posted September 14, 2012 11:37 am

Chavez is trying too hard to create an image of a lazy lout who won’t listen to anybody and is up at odd hours of the night sneaking snacks.. I’m not buying it.. It makes a good story and makes your victories seem that much more incomprehensible, as if you have unreal talent because you’re not even trying, but winning nonetheless.. I don’t think Martinez is fooled by this stuff and is playing along for the reality show type drama which people seem to eat up.. He’s happy to play the studious hard worker who earns everything he’s ever gotten, which is his true personality.. He’s very confident and should be.

I predict that I am wedged between these two pieces of man beef at the weigh in. I am the greatest man lover ever.

God I hope you’re right.
