Tua’s trainers and fitness coach are not stupid they know for Tua to beat Ustinov he will need to move move move for 12 rounds. He is not going to walk in a bully a 6’8 giant who is over 300 pounds. Power will hurt ustinov but to land it Tua needs alot of movement and at least some speed and he needs to maintain it for 12 rounds. He needs to come in which supreme conditioning. He needs to do what Chargev did to valuev…….he needs to lose weight and get fit. Another 3 months will should do it but I still doubt he will win.

Talking about hyping up your own boxer……. how can David Higgins of Duco Events mention this fight in the same breath as the Rumble in the Jungle………or describe the once sided Rd One KO “The fight of the century”!This fight doesn’t deserve to be a feature bout…….so you might as well put it on the same date as the more interesting September clashes…….or are Duco events worried that their “Rumble in the Jungle mk2” event might get overshadowed by other more important bouts……….surely not……..the whole world is going to be tuned in to see this highly anticipated, eagerly awaited potential fight of the century!

Why have David Tua ducked to fight Hasim rahman in an 3rd fight even with Rahman wanting it a few years back? Why did David Tua jumped off fighting Shannon Briggs in 2005-2006 when they where going to fight? Why have Tua avoided Oliver McCall’s many challanges? The answers are the same = David Tua lacks heart. Tua had power, chin and punch power but often lacked heart. Sad. David Tua couldm have fought in so many wortld title fights over the years but only fought 1 and was out-classed by legend Lennox Lewis in 2000. I would love to have seen those fights with David Tua against Hasim Rahman III, Oliver McCall and Shannon Briggs. Or for the matter a slugging war with Tua vs. Mike Tyson back in 1999-2004 when it could have happend.

I wish I could root for Tua, because I like him. But all I can remember in my heard is his fight against Lennox and how ineffective he was. An old, burned out, past his prime Tyson gave Lennox more of a fight than Tua.

I guess if I had some recognition and had a chance to make a million bucks and a chance to regain some glory I’d do it but it’s just crappy to see these old fighters do it over and again. Then again there’s no Lennox to worry over and Vitali isn’t doing anything but considering retiring.
