I ne er thought much of Keith Thurman outside of a good puncher but he earned my respect tonight and I now consider him a force at welter..props to Keith Thurman!

Great win by Keith Thurman. The man has arrived. He was tested and passed with flying colors. Will he win the Mayweather sweptstakes?

Posted July 27, 2013 9:54 pm

Thurman, no doubt.

no chance …..Gonz0 …

Thurman will beat Mayweather

Chavez turns out to being a tough cookie. But Thurman will break him down.

Posted July 27, 2013 9:33 pm

Thurman is going to hit the canvas soon.

Chaves looks to have Thurmans measure …

“Karass could reduce berto to gatekeeper tonight”……….dude! Berto was below gatekeeper status long ago. And how many times has been popped for peds now. I’m surprised berto can even be marketed after diaz and guerrero garbage. Ortiz and gueerero suck bad. If anyones close to a gatekeeper its ortiz. Anf berto seems to be below ortiz. Gueerero ain’t even a 147 pound fighter. Gueerero will get BLASTED outta 147 if he keeps masquerading there.

Thurman will lose this fight.

spartacus 65: What’s up, campeon? Very nice analysis of Berto, there! I would also add that his version of the Philly Shell/shoulder roll was significantly flawed, and left him open to taking a lot of hard shots.

He said he’s going to drop that defensive style in this fight, so it will be interesting to see if it improves his overall game. As the saying goes: it’s hard to teach old dogs new tricks.

Von Pugsley good evening. I find your view point interesting in regards to Andre Berto. Yes Iust say after watching Bertos last fight with the Ghost Geurrero, the reality is that Berto is one punch away from being relegated to espn Friday night fights. Its ashame really. Berto physically has all the tools to be a champion of note. Yet something is missing from the equation. His mental toughness when it comes to making adjustments in a fight. He has terrific hand speed, guts, respectable power and a goid chin. Yes he gets dropped but he often comes back harder. There is no punk in Berto. Yet his leaky defense and inability to adapt in midfight seems to be his undoing. That is what appears to me to ne the barrier keeping him from the next level. And Yes, looks like a darn good fight card! Cheers my friend.

I don’t think the pudgy watered down Asstec can handle this.

von Pugsly: What Brazilian?

Posted July 27, 2013 8:38 pm

von Pugsly

Great card tonight with one showcase fight of a rising prospect and two good match-ups. I kind of hope Soto-Karass finishes Berto off tonight. And I’m interested in finding out how Thurman deals with another undefeated puncher (assuming the Brazilian isn’t a total hype job).
