Undefeated Heavyweight David Rodriguez has suffered a serious knee injury forcing him to pull out of the much anticipated match up with Heavyweight contender Manuel Quezada July 13th, Rodriguez will undergo Arthroscopy treatment comments Dr. Luis Urrea of El Paso Texas; David has great potential returning to the ring following surgery;. Due to the injury the fight has been cancelled Zef Ramirez Comments; I’m extremely disappointed but I know injuries occur I’m hoping for the best and after treatment we can get David back in the ring.

2012 Junior National Championships Action Opens with Preliminary Competition in Mobile, Alabama

(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO) – The future of Olympic-style boxing is on display this week in Mobile, Ala., as the 2012 Junior National Championships are contested at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center. The top 15 and 16-year-old boxers will vie for a national title in the highly touted national championship event.

Main Event: Bo Gibbs, Jr., Carney, OK defeated Freddie Juarez, Dallas, TX by TKO 1:07 Rd 2, winning the North American Midwest Association Cruiserweight Title. Gibbs is undefeated at 6-0, 4 KOs.

In the women heavyweight match up, Paul Soap of Tahlequah, OK lost to Taren Pennell, Irving, TX by unanimous decision. The bout was scored 39-37, 40-36, and 39-37.

Vicente Hernandez (3-1, 2 KOs), OKC, OK won a 4 round UD over Octavio Garay, Muleshoe, TX. Super Lightweights.

Cruiserweight Antwan Williams, Grand Prairie, TX (1-0) won a majority decision over Jamal Seraile, Richardson, TX (0-1). The bout was scored 40-36, 38-38, 39-37.

Heavyweight Darren DeLaune, from Okmulgee, OK beat Jimmy Lane by TKO at the end of round 1.
