Chavez-Rubio and Donaire-Vazquez Jr. on BoxNation this Saturday

BoxNation (Sky Ch. 456/Virgin Ch. 546), the UK’s only dedicated boxing channel, will televise a sensational world-title doubleheader featuring superstars Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Nonito Donaire this Saturday (4 February) live from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) World Middleweight Champion and Son of the Legend, Chavez Jr, will defend his title for the second time against the number one contender Marco Antonio Rubio.

In the joint main-event, four-time world champion and top five pound-for-pound best Nonito Donaire, “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, goes for a world title in fourth weight division when he challenges Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. for the Vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) World Super-Bantweight title.

Earlier in the evening BoxNation will televise live from Frankfurt, Germany, the eagerly awaited rematch between Steve Cunningham and Yoan Pablo Hernandez for the IBF World Cruiserweight title.

BoxNation viewers’ saw Hernandez controversially win the title last October when the fight was stopped in the sixth round because of a head-butt by Cunningham that opened a cut above Hernandez’s left temple.

It was later ruled by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) that the cut wasn’t bad enough to stop the fight and a rematch was ordered.

Live coverage from Germany starts at 7.30pm with the action live from America starting at 2am on Sunday morning.

There’s more live action on Friday (3 February) with Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Champion Ovill McKenzie defending his title against Tony Dodson at the Bowler’s Exhibition Centre in Manchester starting at 8pm.

McDonnell-Bouziane, Skelton-Dallas on March 3rd

Saturday 3rd March Jamie McDonnell defends his European Bantamweight title against Malik Bouziane and chief support on the night sees the comeback of former world title challenger Matt Skelton vs Tom Dallas of Kent over 8 rounds.

Skelton (25-6) has been out of the ring since the final of the prize fighter tournament back in October 2010 but has been in the gym on regular basis.

“Britain has the best crop of young heavyweights in the world at the moment and I can’t wait to get back in the mix and start taking on the likes of Price and Fury.” said Skelton

Tom Dallas (12-1) is looking forward to getting back in the ring and back to winning ways and sees Skelton as a great opponent and an even better name to have on his record.

Dallas said; ” I am not making any excuses, David beat me fair and square but I took the fight at short notice. This time I will have time to train to beat Skelton and hopefully get another crack at Pricey later on down the line.

“ASK AMIR” LIVE ON YOUTUBE, 3rd FEBRUARY

Questions have been flooding in for tomorrow night’s (3rd Feb) live Hatton TV show when two of Britain’s greatest world champions Ricky Hatton & Amir Khan take part in an exclusive live programme on YouTube.

“Ask Amir” will be broadcast around the world from Amir Khan’s Gloves Community Gym in Bolton with Amir & Ricky fielding questions from boxing fans about all aspects of the sport, including their future plans..

The show will be particularly special for the boys & girls of Walcot ABC in Swindon who were chosen to ask their questions in person when the Hatton TV cameras turned up to film them this week.
