LOS ANGELES, September 29 – The pay-per-view undercard for the Oct. 15 Believe It Or Not! event headlined by the Bernard Hopkins vs. Chad Dawson world title fight at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles is complete with the addition of Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi facing Mexican contender and former Olympian Orlando Lora in a 10-round showdown. The welterweight bout will open the HBO Pay-Per-View® telecast, making Oct. 15 one of the most competitive fight nights of the year from top to bottom.

Is Phil Lo Greco ducking Victor Lupo?
TORONTO (September 29, 2011) – Romanian welterweight Victor Lupo has done everything possible to get undefeated World Boxing Council (“WBC”) International Welterweight Champion Phil “The Italian Sensation” Lo Greco into a fight.. The clock is ticking, however, Lo Greco has refused to sign a deal to fight mandatory challenger Lupo.
Lupo (19-102, 9 KOs), who lives in Toronto, defeated former world champion Junior Witter (37-3-2) by a 10-round decision last February for the vacant WBC International Silver title to become the mandatory challenger.Lupo’s promoter, Hennessey Sports, won a purse bid but Lo Greco (22-0, 12 KOs) has thus far been reluctant to accept the fight offer.
“Lo Greco doesn’t want any part of me,” WBC #21 rated Lupo said.“He’s a real tough guy, huh, talking trash on Twitter. Big Lou’s Corner: The Right Hand
Former heavyweight knockout artist Lou Esa has been working with several up-and-coming boxers recently, and wants to share his extensive knowledge with fighters just starting off.
Lou Esa: Most fighters have a conventional stance, so their right hand is their money punch. The right hand is the big punch; it sets up the left hooks, body shots, and is a weapon which can take a guy out with one shot. To throw it correctly it is crucial that you turn off your back foot and turn your shoulder and hips over.
If you look back at some of the best fighters in history, Ali, Larry Holmes and Teofilo Stevenson stand out as three boxers with the best 1-2 combinations in the sport. The jab sets up the right hand which will knock your opponent onto queer street, and then you follow it up with a left hook that puts him to sleep. Good night Irene.
And as dangerous as the right hand is, it is also a great defensive weapon. Keeping the right hand up with your hands loose and open, you are able to use it to block jabs and the hook. The right hand goes up when the left hook comes in, and then you keep it tight to the body to protect against a body shot. Quick hands allow you to catch your opponents jab with your right and quickly counter to set up your attack.
Lastly, the right hand to the body is one of the most devastating punches. I have my fighters throw a strong jab to the head and then follow it up with a straight right to the body. It’s the money shot. If executed properly you can take the fight right out of the guy with the one shot. Throw a crisp jab and then turn your shoulders, hips and foot over and boom, you land that straight right above the belly button and underneath the solar plexus. Bang, you take the fight right out of him.
