Sept. 29, 2011 – Fight fans eager for a unique inside look at the November 12 HBO Pay-Per-View® showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez should mark their calendars to catch an all-new edition of “Face Off,” starring the two ring warriors. “Face Off With Max Kellerman: Pacquiao-Marquez” debuts Saturday, Oct. 1 at 12:15 a.m. ET on HBO, immediately following the HBO World Championship Boxing telecast from Atlantic City.
Moderated by Max Kellerman, “Face Off” is a gripping interview session in which the two fighters face-off and answer Kellerman’s questions. The new wrinkle incorporated into this special edition of “Face Off” will feature video clips from the first two Pacquiao-Marquez fights (2004 & 2008) with Kellerman asking the fighters to breakdown the compelling action that produced one win for Pacquiao and a draw.
The Pacquiao-Marquez extended version of ‘Face Off” is set to air multiple times on HBO and HBO2 (schedule below). “Face Off” will also be available on the HBO On Demand® service, HBO GO® and at www.hbo.com/boxing as well as various other new media platforms that distribute the series.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez III takes place Saturday, November 12 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT.
IRISH AMATEUR BOXING ASSOCIATION
Roy Sheehan made it two wins out of two for Ireland at the AIBA World Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Baku, Azerbaijan today.
The St Michael’s Athy welterweight came from being 4-3 down at the end of the first to register a 15-10 decision over Carl Hield of the Bahamas.
Sheehan produced a particularly good second round to overturn the one point deficit and surge 11-8 ahead against the Bahamian southpaw before winning the third and final frame 4-3.
The three-time Irish Elite champion will now meet Borna Katalinic of Croatia on Sunday.
Sheehan is the only Irish boxer in action today. European light-welterweight champion, Ray Moylette, will be between the ropes tomorrow.

The United States’ Errol Spence Records a Convincing Opening Round Win in Azerbaijan
(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – Welterweight Errol Spence (Desoto, Texas) pushed the United States’ winning streak to five with a convincing 28-10 win over Iran’s Amin Ghasemi in first round competition on Thursday at the 2011 AIBA Men’s World Championships.
Spence, one of only two U.S. boxers with previous World Championships experience, was the lone American athlete to compete in Thursday’s action at the Sport & Exhibition Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan.
After taking a 5-2 lead in the opening round, Spence doubled his lead in the second to move out to a 13-7 advantage with one round remaining. Yet, he refused to sit on his lead over the final three minutes. Spence put his foot on the gas in the third, giving Ghasemi a standing eight count and scoring 15 points over the final three minutes. He won a 28-10 final decision over Ghasemi to advance to the second round.
Spence will face Canada’s Custio Clayton in second round competition in Sunday’s evening session.
Light welterweight Jamel Herring (Coram, N.Y./Camp Lejeune, N.C.) will be the sixth U.S. boxer to compete in Baku when he takes the ring for his opening round contest with China’s Qing Hu on Friday.
The United States’ 5-0 start in Baku equals their mark at the 2007 World Championships in Chicago where Team USA crowned two World Champions, Rau’shee Warren (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Demetrius Andrade (Providence, R.I.).
USA Boxing National Coach Joe Zanders (Long Beach, Calif.), coaches Ronald Simms (Stafford, Va.) and Manny Robles (Los Angeles, Calif.), technical advisor Ken Porter (Akron, Ohio), and Team Manager Ken Buffington (Marshalltown, Iowa) are leading the United States team in Baku.
The 2011 World Championships are the first international qualifying tournament for the 2012 Olympic Games, and the light flyweight through light heavyweight boxers must place in top ten to qualify for London while the heavyweight and super heavyweight competitors need to place in the top six.
