Los Angeles (Wednesday, Aug. 31) World Boxing Council (WBC) Featherweight Champion Jhonny Gonzalez (49-7, 43 KOs) of Mexico City, Mexico puts his title, and his pride on the line as he fights on his country’s Independence Day, Thursday, September 15 at the County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas as he takes on the Tanzanian slugger, Rogers Mtagwa (27-14-2, 19 KOs). The 12-round World Championship bout is presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions and Promociones Del Pueblo and will be broadcast live on ESPN Deportes and Televisa.
Also appearing on the event are the former 2008 U.S. Olympic teammates and promising prospects, Super Middleweight Shawn Estrada (12-0, 11 KOs) and Welterweight Javier Molina (8-0, 4 KOs), who are both of Mexican-American descent and living in East Los Angeles and Norwalk, respectively.
Estrada will be faced with a tough, 8-round fight against Zane “The Train” Marks (17-6, 10 KOs), who had once put together an impressive 14-fight winning streak before that run was stopped during an unsuccessful world title fight challenge. The Scottish-born Marks, who is currently residing in Louisiana, is excited to get back in the ring against the young Olympian.
Olympic teammate Molina, who also boasts an undefeated record, started his career with four KOs, followed by four dominant decisions after recovering from a lingering hand problem. Molina looks to re-establish his KO power, when he steps in the ring with a hard hitting opponent from Golden Meadow, Louisiana in John Revish (10-4-2 8 KOs). In his 16 professional bouts, Revish, who studies psychology at LSU, is a veteran of two world title challenges, by far the most experienced opponent for the young Molina.
The night of fights also showcases two 10-round Super Featherweight bouts featuring four talented Mexican fighters ready to celebrate their countries independence boxing style, in the ring. The first 10-round fight features Miguel “Mickey” Roman (34-8, 26 KOs) of Ciudad Juarez taking on Mexicali’s Antonio Jose Meza (29-11-1, 21 KOs).
In the other 10-round bout, Antonio Escalante (23-4, 15 KOs) of Ciudad Juarez, goes toe-to-toe with Pipino Cuevas Jr. (13-7-11 KOs) of Chihuahua, son of one of Mexicos most decorated former World Champions, Pipino Cuevas.
The card aso features El Paso favorite Joel Garcia (2-0, 1 KO) in a 4 round Flyweight bout and Oscar Valenzuela (3-0) of Ciudad Juarez will kick the holiday event off in a 4-round opening welterweight bout.

INTRODUCING UNDEFEATED HEAVYWEIGHT JOHN LENNOX
CARTERET, NEW JERSEY (August 31, 2011)—Today’s Heavyweight division is always looking for a new star. Many have come from different countries; they come in all sizes and have vastly different personalities.
Enter John Lennox.
The Carteret, New Jersey native has all the potential to be one of the best Heavyweight prospects In the United States.
It all started over a decade ago when Lennox started boxing but not for competition but to stay in shape for other sports.
Lennox played Football, Baseball and Basketball in High School for which he played football and became an All-American Linebacker at Montclair St.
Lennox then played Professional for Lexington in the Arena League.
“I boxed to stay in shape for football”, said Lennox.
“After football, I had a brief amateur career and I was ready for the professional ranks.”

Lennox turned pro on November 19th, 2008 with a third round stoppage over Ricardo Cuffee at The Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey.
Lennox then racked up two more wins to run his ledger to 3-0.
Then Lennox took a twenty-five month layoff that was not to his own doing.
“I had trouble getting fights and almost was ready to quit.”
Lennox then hooked up with manager Rich Masini.
“I see a lot of potential in John. He is a natural athlete and he has the heart of a lion”, said Masini.
Lennox came back from his break with a disqualification victory over Kareem Wilson on June 22nd, 2011 at The Robert Treat.
Lennox then fought two more times in just over a month as he stopped Donnie Crawford on July 9th at part of the Paul Williams – Erislandy Lara HBO undercard in Atlantic City and in Lennox’ last bout, Lennox stopped Jason Pauley in round two of their fight on July 29th in Philadelphia.
Lennox has started a unique training regimen called Hypoxic Training.
It is a method that replicates training at the highest of altitudes.
“The company is called Advanced Altitude 365 and I can feel after every session the difference that it has started to make. I already feel stronger and my body is in much better shape since I started this”, said Lennox.

Jose Reynoso vs. Adan Hernandez on September 23
Riverside’s Junior Welterweight, Jose “El Niño” Reynoso, returns to his favorite stomping grounds at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario to accept the challenge of Adan Hernandez, of El Pasp, Texas, on Friday, September 23 as once again the Thompson Boxing Promotions ‘Locked N’ Loaded’ fight card returns to the popular fight venue.
Reynoso (14-3-1, 2 KOs) brings his southpaw wizardry once again to California’s Inland Empire as he looks to stretch his unbeaten streak to seven. It’s been more than two years since anyone been able to claim a victory over Reynoso. Since that time he’s proven to be a puzzling opponent for everyone who has faced him including Aris Ambriz, Hector Serrano and Santos Pakau. A berth in the junior welterweight contender’s list awaits him.
Hernandez (14-7, 5 KOs) who hails from El Paso, Texas, has competed against the top prospects in the country including Danny Garcia, Rock Allen, Anthony Peterson and Urbano Antillon. None were able to knock out the Texas hard-hitting prizefighter. He aims for a victory over the meteoric rising Reynoso that could revamp his career.

In the co-main event, Jonathan “Lil’ Thundr'” Arellano (9-0-1, 2 KOs) fights his first eight-rounder and faces Matamoros, Mexico’s, Fernando Camacho (9-1, 3 KOs) in a junior featherweight prospect showdown. Arellano, who resides in Ontario and trains in Riverside, has shown to be an adept boxer. Camacho intends to show his boxing prowess in front of an American crowd. It’s a pivotal fight for both pugilists.
On the undercard, feisty Sindy Amador of Riverside returns to Ontario and finds Mayela Perez ready to interrupt her undefeated junior flyweight streak. Amador (4-0, 1 KO) attacks brutally and has proven hard to be hard to handle. Mexico’s Perez (9-13-3) has fought four world champions including superstar Ana Maria Torres. The crafty Mexican boxer from Saltillo, Mexico, is equipped to derail the steadily rising Amador.
In the supporting bout, Richard “The Terminator” Contreras has flashed past all six of his opponents so far and looks to add one more victim to his list when he meets Olvin Mejia of Texas. Contreras (6-0, 5 KOs) fights out of San Bernardino and shows amazing strength for a junior featherweight. Mejia (4-4-3, 4 KOs) has fought six undefeated fighters in his short career and knocked out or drew with three. He’s also no stranger to California and will seek revenge after losing during his last appearance in July against the power-puncher Abraham Lopez.
Also featured on the card is an exciting 6-round junior welterweight clash. Venezuela’s Jhon Ortega (6-0-1, 6 KOs) against the ever-ready Alex Viramontes (9-8, 3 KOs) of Riverside. Ortega has shown amazing speed, outstanding power and the skillful ability to set up his power. Viramontes is never an easy opponent and has the ability to beat the unsuspecting.
Other fights on the show include Oxnard’s undefeated welterweight Hugo Centeno (8-0, 6 KOs), Colton’s John Berrelleza and El Paso’s Albert Tovar.
