TKO Boxing Signs Rayonta Whitfield, Joseph Elegele and Robert Rodriguez

LAS VEGAS , NV, August 17, 2009 – TKO BOXING Promotions has signed flyweight contender Rayonta ‘STINGRAY’ Whitfield, it was announced today by Chet Koerner, their President. The 28 year Whitfield carries a record of record of 22-1-0 with eleven knockouts. The Augusta, Georgia, native is currently world ranked #7 by the IBF and #8 by the WBO. Said Koerner, “We’re thrilled to add Rayonta to our growing team of outstanding prospects and contenders. He has all the skills to become a world champion and we look forward to making his dream happen..”

Whitfield was undefeated prior to facing WBO Flyweight Champion Omar Narvaez on February 7, 2009 in Chubut, Argentina, Narvaez’s hometown. After nine evenly fought rounds, the fight was stopped prematurely in the 10th and awarded to Narvaez although Whitfield appeared unhurt and able to continue.

Whitfield is guided by award winning manager Cameron Dunkin who also counts world champions Kelly Pavlik, Nonito Donaire and Steven Luevano amongst his stable of fighters. He is trained by Ronnie Shields and Tom Moraetes.

Said Dunkin, “Rayonta was a great amateur and is a very popular fighter in Augusta, Georgia . He’s passed just about every test as a professional and we’re looking to get him another world title shot in the very near future.”

Whitfield will have his first fight under the TKO BOXING Promotions banner at the Arena Theatre in Houston on October 10th. In early 2010, TKO BOXING Promotions ‘HOMETOWN HEROES TO WORLD CHAMPIONS’ nationally acclaimed series will promote Whitfield in his hometown of Augusta , Georgia.

LAS VEGAS , NV (August 17, 2009) TKO BOXING Promotions has signed Florida amateur standout Joseph Elegele, it was announced today by Chet Koerner, it’s President.

“We’ve watched Joseph in the amateurs for a long time and he has all the skills to become a world champion. We’re very proud to add him to our growing team of international contenders and world class prospects” said Koerner.

The Melbourne , Florida native who will compete as a junior welterweight was dominant as an amateur with a record of 69-8. The southpaw is trained by Tony Morgan who also trains world champion Andre Berto.

The 24 year old Elegele is guided by award winning manager Cameron Dunkin who also counts world champions Kelly Pavlik, Nonito Donaire and Steven Luevano amongst his vast stable.

Said Dunkin, “Joseph has been a terror on the Florida amateur scene for many years and is an excellent boxer with knockout power in both hands. He’s ready to make the jump to the professional ranks and we believe he will be very successful.”

Elegele will make his pro debut under the TKO BOXING Promotions banner on Saturday, September 19th in Hartford , Connecticut .

TKO BOXING PROMOTIONS SIGNS ROBERT RODRIGUEZ

LAS VEGAS , NV (August 14, 2009) TKO BOXING Promotions has signed outstanding amateur Robert Rodriguez of Evans, Colorado , it was announced today by Chet Koerner, its President.

“Robert was an excellent amateur and we’re proud to add him to the TKO team of international contenders and world class prospects” said Koerner.

Nineteen year old Rodriguez had a terrific amateur career compiling a record of 127-12 with eleven national championships. Most recently he was ranked #1 in the United States in 2008 and the first quarter of 2009. He is trained by his father Jeff Rodriguez in their hometown of Evans, Colorado and will compete at featherweight as a professional.

In March of this year, Rodriguez won the National Golden Gloves in Salt Lake City, Utah . His sixteen year old brother Ricky is also a standout amateur competing at the 119 pound weight class.

Rodriguez is guided by award winning manager Cameron Dunkin who also counts world champions Kelly Pavlik, Nonito Donaire and Steven Luevano amongst his vast stable.
