Two former world title challengers, Angel “Toro” Hernandez and Antwun Echols, meet in a crossroads fight, Friday, August 21st, at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN. Both fighters have challenged for world titles and have a combined 84 fights with 43 knockouts. Echols, for his part, is promising a big win to launch himself back into title contention, The hard hitting Hernandez, (29-7, 16 KO’s), upset hot prospect James McGirt Jr. earlier this year on ESPN 2. Hernandez looks to rack-up an impressive victory over Echols, in a fight that promises bell-to-bell action..

Rounding-out the card is Indiana’s fighting Cook brothers, Nick (15-1) and Jason (3-0 ), Heavyweight, MMA scrapper, Tim Martin (1-0) and former Chicago Golden Gloves champion Ninos Abraham (3-0), David Thomas (7-1) and Mike Kurzeja (2-0).

Katsidis “The Great” Arrives in Las Vegas for Title fight

17th August 2009 – For Immediate Release Michael Katsidis “the great” has arrived in Las Vegas in preparation for his quest to become a world champion again. Katsidis has signed on to fight Vicente Escobedo on the 19th of Sept at the MGM Grand for the current WBO interim lightweight World Title. The fight will take place on the same spectacular card as Floyd Mayweather Jr and Juan Manual Marquez’s super fight.

Katsidis spent his 29th birthday (on the 15th of this month) by sparring 9 rounds with two separate fighters in Vegas; coming off an impressive 7th round TKO of former champion Jesus Chavez, Katsidis is again ready to invade and conquer.

Heavyweight Contender Danny Batchelder Looks To Halt Losing Streak

Heavyweight contender Danny “Danny Boy” Batchelder, 25-7-1 (12), looks to end his losing streak on August 21st against John Clark, 14-14-1 (9), in Redondo Beach California. Batchelder, who recently lost a close decision to Lance “Mount” Whitaker , has been on a slide of 4 straight loses and looks to rebound against Clark.

Batchelder feels that he has been slighted by some of the scoring in his past few fights, but only blames himself. He is looking to get a few wins under his belt and then get back into the title mix once more. Batchelder will be part of a card that will feature his last opponent, Lance Whitaker, 33-5-1 (27), in the main event against Matthew Ellis, 20-8-2 (9), taking place at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
