LOS ANGELES, CA (July 29, 2008) Espinoza Boxing Club’s Abraham Lopez made his Las Vegas debut a big winner this past Friday night, July 25th, as he took home a four round decision over veteran Cuauhtémoc Mendoza by scores of 40-35, 40-36 and 39-36 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Displaying his terrific boxing skills, Lopez used an array of hooks and uppercuts to hold off Mendoza throughout the featherweight bout. With the win, the 20 year old La Puente, California resident improved his record to 3-0 with two knockouts.

Said Frank Espinoza, President of Espinoza Boxing Club, “I was very happy with Abraham’s performance, Mendoza was a real tough guy who had never been stopped but it worked in our favor. It’s better for Abraham to face tougher competition than just knock out some guy in the first round, he learns much more this way.

He’ll probably take a week off from the gym and then we’ll look to have him back in the ring in September.”
