27.10.06 – Although their roads to the championship have been extremely different, there are some stark similarities between “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather and Carlos “Tata” Baldomir who will meet in the ring November 4 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View. The bright lights, big city attitude of Mayweather significantly contrast to the hard-working, unassuming Baldomir and yet, at the end of the story, they are both two fathers, with four children each, fighting for the safety and future security of their family. BALDOMIR: Carlos Monzon is one of my role models but I always looked up to myself too.
MAYWEATHER: My mother, grandmother and my Uncle Roger.
Where’s your favorite vacation spot?
BALDOMIR: I’ve never vacationed. Too busy training. I guess I like Universal Studios because that’s the only place I’ve had the chance to visit..
MAYWEATHER: Jamaica. I’ve been there many times.

BALDOMIR: I don’t eat three days before a fight so I can get really pissed off

BALDOMIR: Everyone knows my previous career—I’d still be selling feather dusters on the streets
