Gutierrez Headlines “Path To Glory”

19.04.06 – Orange, CA – Undefeated junior middleweight Enrique Gutierrez will now headline the popular “PATH TO GLORY” Boxing Extravaganza on Monday, April 24, at the Doubletree Hotel Event Center in Ontario, California. Future super featherweight contender Dominic Salcido sustained a hand injury during training that will upset his plans to be the main event boxer for the first time in his career..

“I was pushing myself,” said Salcido. “I had injured my hand on my last fight and I expected to recover from it, but things did not go my way and instead of getting better I damaged it during sparring,” concluded Salcido who vowed to be ready by the summer with all the fire that makes him a highly regarded prospect.

Enrique Gutierrez (8-0, 7 KOs) from Santa Rosa, CA, will now take Salcido’s place in six-round bout against San Diego’s ever-dangerous Terry Wright (5-6-1, 4 KOs).

Gutierrez has knocked out his last seven opponents, six of them inside two rounds. The veteran Wright, who in his last outing knocked out cold Alex Bogarin, will test Gutierrez’s power.

Also added to the card is Jose Perez (6-2) from La Habra, CA, who will battle Anthony Martinez (20-20-3, 9 KOs) from Los Angeles, CA, in a special eight-round super featherweight attraction. Welterweights Gustavo Torrales (4-1, 2 KOs) and Juan Pablo Montes de Oca (6-9, 3 KOs) will face each other in a six-round melee; plus super middleweight Ivan Stovall (3-1, 2 KOs) against Juan Carlos Parra (5-5-2, 4 KOs). Also, phenomenal southpaw Carlos Martinez (1-0,1 KO) will face Felipe Campaña (2-3-2, 1 KO) in a jr. welterweight duel.
