Gorres, Amonsot Return To Action On Feb. 4

24.01.01.06 – Two world-ranked boxers from the Philippines–super flyweight Zcy Gorres and super featherweight Czar Amonsot–highlight the nationally and internationally televised “Guilty Fight Night” card promoted by Guilty Boxing Friday, Feb. 3, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Gorres, ranked No. 4 by the WBO and No. 9 by the IBF meets Jose Alfredo Tirado in the 10-round main event while Amonsot, rated by 11 by the WBO, faces Antonio Wong in the eight-round semi-main event..

This is the first boxing event to be held at the Orleans since November.

The 23-year-old Gorres, a southpaw from Mindanao, has a record of 21-1-1 with 11 knockouts.

The 26-year-old Tirado lists a mark of 24-8 with 19 knockouts.

The 20-year-old Amonsot, a southpaw from Tagbilaran City, has a record of 13-1-1 with 10 knockouts and is the WBO Asia Pacific junior lightweight champion.

Both Gorres and Amonsot scored knockouts in their most recent outings. Gorres stopped Wisanu Pornobnum in the fourth round Oct. 29 in the Philippines while Amonsot halted Victor Manusul in the eighth-round of a 12-round bout in the Philippines to win his 130-pound title.

The 25-year-old Wong has a record of 11-5-1 with seven knockouts and is coming off two wins on Guilty Boxing cards in Las Vegas: Sept. 2 a decision over Alejandro Pena and May 27 a first-round knockout of Daniel Gonzalez.

This is another in the ongoing series of “Guilty Fight Night” cards. The innovative Guilty Boxing series was launched May of 2004 and has presented cards in Arizona, California, Connecticut and Mexico as well as Las Vegas.

Six-round bouts on the Guilty Boxing card Feb. 3 include: Gusman (7-0, 4 KOs); light heavyweight Dimitrique Edwards of Glendora, Calif., (7-2-1, 4 KOs) against Freeman Taft of Phoenix (3-3-2, 1 KO); middleweight James Countryman of Detroit (8-0, 6 KOs); super welterweight Joaquin Zamora of Santa Fe (8-2-1, 7 KOs) against Octavio Castro of Tijuana

(6-1, 3 KOs); and Coca (5-0, 2 KOs). Opponents for Gisman, Countryman and Coca will be determined.

Four-round bouts on the Guilty Boxing card include: featherweight Sergio Mendez of Norwalk, Calif., (1-0, 1 KO) and Lovato (4-1, 2 KOs). Opponents for Mendez and Warner also will be determined.

The card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific).
