“MI VIDA LOCA” JOHNNY TAPIA IS A REAL BOXING ICON!
The boxing career of Johnny Tapia has kept “Mi Vida Loca” in the national spotlight now for almost 20 years now! A National Amateur Champion in 1985, Tapia turned professional soon thereafter. It would take 26 wins and a draw before Johnny would meet Henry Martinez in a battle for the vacant WBO 115 lb. (Super Flyweight) title! With the TKO win on October 12, 1994, Tapia had the first of his many world titles.

TAPIA-ARCHULETA MATCHES LEGEND & PROSPECT
Although he’s had 58 professional outings as a prize fighter, the fight that probably meant the most to the 53-3-2, (28 KO’s) native of Albuquerque was his dominating over cross town rival Danny Romero in 1997. Disciplined and armed with a game plan, Johnny never deviated and darn near posted a shutout before winning a unanimous decision after 12 rounds!

“QUIET-MAN” ARCHULETA PRIMED &READY
Frankie Archuleta is a “Man On A Mission” who sees Johnny Tapia as a pugilistic mountain he must climb and conquer in this ALL New Mexico featherweight throw down! With a pro log that stands at 22-4-1, (13 KO’s) the slick boxing Archuleta will have a few things in his favor that stand out. First of all, Archuleta is eight years younger than Tapia! Secondly, Frankie will enjoy a height and reach advantage over “Mi Vida Loca.” And lastly, the two will square off in Frankie’s hometown of Las Vegas, New Mexico!

“HOTTER THAN HOT” PROSPECT ON CARD TOO!
This co-Promotion between Fresquez Productions & the “Hall of Fame” Promoter Don Chargin will feature one of the brightest prospects to come out of Mexico in years Cuauhtemoc Vargas! The brother of ex-champ Goyo Vargas, Cuauhtemoc at 10-0, (8 KO’s) takes on Francisco Tejador (49-19-2) Friday night March 5 when Telefutura goes live from the “Highlands University” campus in Las Vegas, New Mexico!
