Lomachenko’s Manager Calling Out Lee Selby

We last saw him looking fantastic on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2nd, and in the clearest sign yet of what we can expect next from WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, his manager Egis Klimas has spoken to ESPN to say that two likely options exist for the Ukrainian former amateur standout – former WBA 126 lb champ Simpiwe Vetyeka, or new IBF champion Lee Selby.

Selby was nothing short of sublime last time out 5 weeks ago in London, halting tough Russian champion and IBF fighter of the year Evgeny Gradovich. The doctor was forced to intervene after a nasty cut opened up above the former champion’s eye – yet it was always only a matter of time before the Welsh fighter turned up the heat even further than he already had, and some may say, the cut only saved Gradovich from further punishment.

Mayweather/Pacquiao: War Of Words Continues

The fight may be over between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, but the war of words continues.

Manny Pacquiao responds to Floyd Mayweather’s Instagram video full swing, in which he calls Mayweather an “ex-convict” and brings up Mayweather’s past with domestic violence.

Floyd Mayweather first posted a video on Wednesday where he spoke to a dummy as if it were Pacquiao, “So, Manny. You’re out here telling people that I didn’t win fair and square, that this little arm is messed up. Is that right? Talk to me.”

Errol Spence Jr: Eyeing Bigger Names For Possible Mayweather Undercard Slot

“It’s really all of the above” Spence said when quizzed on who he would like to fight if he got that opportunity.

“Everybody’s name; Amir Khan, Shawn Porter, Keith Thurman. I mean anybody who gonna get in the ring – like Floyd said, Floyd said he’d vacate one of his belts for us to fight, so I mean why not? Fighting on the biggest stage, MGM Grand on PPV on Floyd Mayweather’s co-main event? I mean how big can it get?”

As the time ticks on, one can’t help but think Floyd Mayweather must secretly enjoy watching the rest of the welterweight division speculating as to whether or not it’s going to be them getting the call to face him on September 12th and the final fight of his contract with broadcasting giant, Showtime.

Amir Khan is seemingly forever in the frame, alongside the likes of IBF champion Kell Brook, Florida’s Keith Thurman (WBA reg), and irrespective of your opinion on the seriousness of his statement naming them – Andre Berto and Karim Mayfield.

Eddie Hearn: ‘We Might Make A Purse Bid For Klitschko/Fury

Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn has this evening dropped something of a minor bombshell by announcing that he is considering making a purse bid to stage the upcoming clash between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury that, as yet, the two camps concerned have been unable to agree terms for.

Hearn, who has nothing to do with either fighter, and enjoys an exclusive broadcasting deal with Sky Sports, has told the channel that should the scheduled purse bid go ahead in Panama he may well be in attendance. The deadline for a deal to be reached to prevent the bid happening is Monday.

If Berto Gets Floyd Fight, I’ll Prepare Him To Win It Says Virgil Hunter

Many fans and writers alike weren’t really too sure what to make of Floyd Mayweather’s recent comments about wanting to fight Andre Berto or relative unknown Karim Mayfield for what is ostensibly his ‘final’ fight in September. Was he serious or just being facetious? Simply mocking the media in attendance who hang on his every word while all along actually laughing AT them?

Probably, was my guess, especially as he chose guys associated or once associated with trainer Virgil Hunter – who now also trains the man most desperate for the Floyd fight – Britain’s Amir Khan.

Wolgast, Rivers and the double knockout drama

Rivers was a formidable challenger, having dispatched of both Johnny Kilbane (KO 16) and Frank Conley (KO 12) to earn his shot at the crown in the open-air Vernon Arena before 11,000 witnesses that hot Independence Day.

Hatton Backing Flanagan To Win World Title Against Zepeda

In 9 days time, “Turbo” Terry Flanagan will square off against big punching American knockout artist Jose Zepeda in Manchester for the WBO 135 lb title, live on Boxnation in the UK.

Scots Ken Buchanan, Jim Watt and Ricky Burns have held versions of the world 135 lb title, yet should Flanagan prevail he will become the first English fighter to do so.

It’s Not Over Yet Says Bernard Hopkins / Targeting 168 ?
