Amir Khan Back in Frame for April 2016 Pacquiao Fight!

It’s looking like Amir Khan (31-3, 19ko) hasn’t given up on his dream of an eventual fight with Manny Pacquiao next Spring, insisting that talks between the two camps have restarted.

What is for certain is that the Filipino superstar is set to bring the curtain down on his long and illustrious career with a swansong outing next April, and rumour has been rife that talks have opened for a Mayweather rematch at what will then be the newly opened MGM Arena, although the self-professed “TBE” has allegedly scotched these rumours, insisting he stays retired.

Santa Cruz to Stay at 126 & Vacate WBC 122 Strap

New WBA (sup) 126 lb champion, Leo Santa Cruz (31-0-1, 17ko), has announced that he intends to vacate his WBC super bantamweight title and continue to campaign at featherweight.

The unbeaten Mexican, who is looked after by the elusive and influential Al Haymon, has landed in China ready to attend this years WBC convention, whereby he intends to inform them of his plans.

Roy Jones ‘Ideal Opportunity’ for Enzo Mac says Frank Warren

Whether it ends up being for the WBA (sup) 200 lb title or not, veteran British promoter Frank Warren has claimed that 46 year old Roy Jones Jr (62-8, 45ko) is the ‘ideal’ fight for Enzo Maccarinelli (40-7, 32ko) at this late stage of his career.

Earlier rumours about a dust-up between the American former great and the 35 year old Welshman became true last week at a public unveiling in Russia, where the bout is set to take place on Dec. 12.

‘Maybe GGG Should Fight Canelo at 155? There’s No One Else’ says Robert Garcia

Oxnard-based trainer, Robert Garcia, has also weighed in on the issue of Canelo Alvarez insisting any Gennady Golovkin fight must be at 155, by partly echoing the sentiments of Teddy Atlas, in that GGG may have to concede if he ultimately wants to be a PPV attraction.

Garcia was full of praise for the dominant WBA/IBF champion, who has been on a wrecking ball mission at middleweight, and who claims he wishes to clean house in the division before moving up for bigger fights.

Povetkin wants a Klitschko rematch, in Ukraine or even the Olympics

For a few years now, Wladimir Klitschko (64-3-0) has been expressing great interest in participating in the next Olympic games. While there are a few roadblocks, it seems as though even a professional fighter can qualify.

In October of 2013, Wladimir Klitschko had delivered the very first loss to Alexander Povetkin(29-1-0) in Moscow, Russia. There were no excuses or hard feelings from camp Povetkin, instead stating that they appreciated the fight and have learned a lot from it.

‘Canelo Can Call the Shots’ says Atlas Re: GGG Fight at 155

Veteran trainer/broadcaster, Teddy Atlas, has weighed in on the issue of ‘Canelo’ Alvarez insisting Gennady Golovkin must come to 155 for any future middleweight fight, suggesting that even if it’s technically wrong, the Mexican’s greater star power means he can essentially call the shots regardless.

Alvarez must first come past WBC champion, Miguel Cotto, in next month’s Mexico/Puerto Rico mega fight before any Golovkin fight is even considered, although should he do that and inherit the Kazakh WBA/IBF champion as his mandatory challenger, Atlas shares the opinion of many realists that in this money driven sport, Canelo’s proven box office record may well end up dictating the terms of any potential fight.

Scott controlled most of the action thoughout the 10-round battle using his superior movement to control the pace of the fight. As he has throughout his career, Thompson refused to give in and scored a big knockdown with a thundering right hand in round nine.
