My stay in the UK so far has been very good. You know, the people are very nice to me. And we’re just finishing up with the workouts and just staying sharp now, winding down, getting stronger again. And basically we’re ready to (go).

Question
Charles, when the fight came up between yourself and Anthony, what was it that made you decide to immediately, well, throw caution to the wind and go to his hometown and fight the guy that many people think is the next superstar in the heavyweight division?

Anthony Joshua- Many thanks for you guys taking the time to join the call. Eddie mentioned some great figures and great achievements that we have accomplished from the time I turned professional, and also the fact that the excitement of the heavyweight division is back and it’s an honor to be involved in it, especially here in the UK. And sometimes in heavyweight boxing the UK’s been overlooked, but I think right now people are looking at us and starting to respect the division a lot more.

I don’t know when this happened, I don’t know if it was preordained, perhaps Moses had this etched upon the tablets of stone, by the lord himself, when he stood aloft Mount Sinai. Maybe Aesop fabled the coming, or perchance Nostradamus predicted that sometime in the 21st century of our lord Jesus Christ we would be plagued by a swarm of ‘know-it-all” boxing ‘experts’ who would believe a fighter is only of any value as long as his 0 remains intact.

Martin-Joshua: The Heavyweight Comedy

Anthony Joshua (15-0) will challenge Charles Martin (23-0-1) for his IBF heavyweight title this Saturday. Tyson Fury was stripped of the title after he refused to fight the mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glazkov due to his contractual obligation to fight Klitcshko and Charles Martin fought Glazkov for the vacant strap. Glazkov quit with a leg injury and Martin was awarded a TKO win.

Dominic Wade talks Gennady Golovkin fight

Washington, D.C. (April 5, 2016) From his training camp at the Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing Gym in Clinton, Maryland, undefeated mandatory challenger Dominic Wade is preparing to face unified middleweight world champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin on Saturday, April 23 at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles, California.

In his most recent outing, Wade was victorious against former world champion Sam Soliman in June 2015, thus earning his mandatory challenger position with the IBF.

Fury and Joshua go at it on Twitter

Imagine if Twitter had been around when Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier were caught up in THE grudge-match series to end all grudge-match series. Back then, in the 1970s, fighters had to make do with up close and personal verbal attacks on one another when it came to attempts at shifting tickets and scoring mental points over your opponent. Ali and Frazier met in a number of staged taunting sessions, with the two all-time greats also engaging in some over the telephone exchanges. But today, fighter A can get well and truly under the skin of fighter B without even having to move out of his armchair.

Pac-Man Vs. Canelo! Arum says a catch-weight clash could happen

Manny Pacquiao Vs. Saul Canelo Alvarez: if it happened it would be enormous, and Top Rank boss Bob Arum – perhaps as a result of a little too much celebrating over his 50 years in the game – says the fight could happen, at a catch-weight of 155-pounds. Speaking with Fighthub.com, Arum said that if Pacquiao can defeat Tim Bradley in their rubber-match on Saturday, and if Alvarez can defeat Amir Khan in May, the dream-fight could go ahead.

Why Timothy Bradley and not Terence Crawford or Amir Khan like boxing fans were asking? Why do you think you need a third fight with Bradley when you (and the boxing world) believe you won the first two matchups?

Anthony Joshua gives his pre-fight prediction ahead of Charles Martin fight: Six Rounds
