Chris Eubank Jr. is predicting a victory for George Groves (26-3, 19 KOs) over his Ali Trophy quarter-final opponent Jamie Cox (24-0, 13 KOs) on Saturday at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London.
Eubank Jr. earned his spot in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series when he dominated and knocked out Turkish Avni Yildirim in round three in Stuttgart last weekend.
Featherweight prospect Toka “T Nice” Kahn-Clary (22-1-0-1, 15 KOs) will look to continue to move up the divisional rankings when he fights dangerous, powerful puncher Braulio “El Chavo” Rodriguez (19-2, 17 KOs) on October 19th at the Freight Depot in Atlanta, Georgia in a scheduled ten-round bout for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title. This will be Kahn-Clary’s first main event bout and the first time that he is fighting for a title in his five-year professional career.

The Premier Boxing Champions event taking place at Barclays Center, the home of BROOKLYN BOXING®, features five fighters ranked in the top 10 – and four in the top five – in one of boxing’s deepest divisions. The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast begins at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and is headlined by WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara making the sixth defense of his title against undefeated contender Terrell Gausha.
Bobby Hitz, the President of Hitz Boxing and co-promoter of Fres Oquendo, together with Roy Jones, Jr.’s Square Ring Promotions, came out swinging this morning after reading reports that the Manuel Charr vs. Alexander Ustinov bout that is being announced for November 25, 2017 in Germany will be for the WBA Heavyweight Title. “We have received the personal assurance from Gilberto Mendoza, President of the WBA, that Charr vs. Ustinov will not be for the WBA championship, but rather will be an elimination bout for the right to fight Fres for the title,” Hitz said.
Former heavyweight king Tyson Fury has teased us before, with messages put out on social media promising “a big announcement,” only for none to come. Tyson has also vowed to retire, telling us via twitter how he will never fight again. And just recently, the never-beaten former champ announced via his twitter page how he would not be seeking a new license to box from the British Boxing Board of Control.
Top heavyweight title contender Dominic Breazeale will take on Eric Molina in a 12-round WBC title elimination match on the undercard of the showdown between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Bermane Stiverne live on SHOWTIME on Saturday, Nov. 4. While almost all fight fans and boxing historians feel there will NEVER be another fight or night as epic and as truly special as the happening that was the Joe Frazier-Muhammad Ali super-fight from 1971, reigning WBC heavyweight king Deontay Wilder says that a fight between he and rival champ Anthony Joshua would rank right up there with “The Fight of The Century.”
Like Ali and Frazier were at the time of their monster fight, Wilder and Joshua are unbeaten, close to their respective peak, and each boasts a genuine claim to the crown. There the similarities end but Wilder, in speaking with GQ, is adamant a fight between he and the IBF/WBA ruler will be the biggest fight in the division’s history for some time.
In what may well turn out to be the best, most fascinating fight of the year, saved for the end of the year as it has been – Vasyl Lomachenko-Guillermo Rigondeux has attracted fan attention in one big way; hence the December 9 fight selling out two full months ahead of bell-one.
UK fans can catch the action live on Box Nation, and it was via a short piece with the boxing channel’s web site that Ukraine’s Lomachenko, 9-1(7) declared how he will “squash” the unbeaten Cuban when they clash in New York. As fans know, “Rigo” will be making quite a step up in weight: from super-bantam to super-featherweight, and for this reason, “Hi-Tech,” feels he will not get too much credit for beating the naturally smaller and older man.

Allstar Boxing Promotions presents a rematch in a ten-round super bantamweight bout between Daniel Lozano (14-4, 11 KOs) from Bowling Green, Florida against Ricardo Rodriguez (16-4, 5 KOs) from Mexico City.
