Rob Brant (22-0, 15 KOs) and Juergen Braehmer (48-3, 35 KOs) went head-to-head before their Ali Trophy quarter-final clash on October 27 in Schwerin, Germany.

“Juergen has done it all, seen it all, but he hasn’t fought me,” said 27-year-old Brant. “I am very confident that I will win on Friday. A poll launched (now removed without trace, for obvious reasons) by the folks at Sky Sports News, that asks the simply ridiculous question: Is Anthony Joshua Britain’s greatest ever heavyweight – has been derided by many people; including heavyweight great Lennox Lewis.

It’s a sign of the times that Joshua, a good fighter who still has many years ahead of him, is even having such a question asked of him at this, still very early stage in his career. Yes Joshua has that excellent win over a 41 year old Wladimir Klitschko, but does this, along with his current achievements, make such a question a valid one? Not a chance.

On Thursday October 19 a very interesting video surfaced on social media. The video was a short snippet of Floyd “Money” Mayweather training at his gym. Decked out in full gear he was banging the heavy bag. Speculation soon followed. Is he fighting again? It sure didn’t seem like he was going through the motions. However Floyd is a fitness addict who also loves attention. While no one except Floyd knows if he is going to fight again. I sure would like to see him have one more go in the ring.

And while fighters should be commended for going after the biggest and best fights, it’s different with Khan, for a few reasons: his critics says he has done nothing to earn a mega-fight with Mayweather, and Mayweather’s critics insist “Money” is no longer one of the best fighters out there.
