More to come from Hearn: Matchroom boss says ANOTHER British world title chance will be announced tomorrow!

It has to be agreed by all what a great job of delivering big fights British promoter Eddie Hearn is doing right now. For whether you like the Matchroom boss or not – and like any boxing promoter he has his share of critics – Hearn continues to get the big fights, plenty of them world title opportunities, for his fighters. Last week’s big news story was of course the announcement of the Gennady Golovkin-Kell Brook fight (by the way, Hearn has Tweeted that Brook will remain IBF welterweight champ should he lose on September 10) but Hearn has recently made the following big fights for his boxers, or helped make them:

Anthony Crolla-Jorge Linares, Dillian Whyte-Dave Allen (not a big fight but a good match-up, with the winner expected to get a big fight), Scott Quigg-Carl Frampton, Anthony Joshua-Charles Martin. Factor in the big cards Hearn has given us with the likes of Carl Froch and James De Gale and his work as a promoter has to be recognised. And there will surely be bigger fights for heavyweight star Joshua in the coming months, and maybe a big fight or fights for Chris Eubank Junior.

But now, fight fans are wondering who it will be that is announced as getting a world title fight tomorrow. The UK already has 13 world rulers, which fighter is it that could make it 14? We will find out tomorrow but it does seem as though Hearn is announcing a big fight, or a packed card (see the July 30 bill in Leeds) every week or so. Fans want the big fights and they want a promoter who delivers them. Hearn fits the bill.

The buzz is still massive of course over the GGG-Brook fight; the shock factor still there following Friday’s totally unexpected announcement. Brook has warned Golovkin that the middleweight has “no idea” how hard he punches, while Triple-G has spoken of the respect he has for Brook for agreeing to fight him.

If Brook can pull this off, Hearn may well have two superstars in his stable, if not three.
