Chisora: Malik Scott will gas out; he’s going to get stopped

chisora6 Heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) is predicting that American Malik Scott (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) will run out of gas tonight at some point from his pressure and end up getting stopped before the finish line at the Wembley Arena in London, UK. Chisora thinks he’ll wear Scott down with his constant pressure that he puts on him.

Chisora said to The Sun, “Malik Scott is going to get stopped because he ain’t got a clue. He’s going to gas out. When the thing starts hitting the fan most people fold.”

The thing with Chisora is he doesn’t always win even when he wears down his opponents with his pressure. We saw Chisora tire WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and Robert Helenius both out and still lose to both of them.

The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds instead of 12, so that’s something that could possibly help Chisora because he’s not going to be able to out-box a fighter like Scott.

Chisora believes it’s going to be a fairly easy fight, but his recent performances don’t suggest that’s possible.

brook2 Undefeated Kell Brook (30-0, 20 KO’s) took out his frustration at missing a title shot against Devon Alexander by destroying #8 IBF, Carson Jones (35-10-3, 25 KO’s) by an 8th round TKO tonight at the MS3 Craven Park in Hull, England. The fight ending was marred when referee Michael Alexander stepped in and stopped the fight while Jones was still fighting back in the 8th.

Jones had his back to the ropes and had just taken some hard shots, but he still looked fine and had his guard up. The referee didn’t like the way he looked and pulled the plug at 1:07 of the round.

Mathews destroys Coyle

mathews1 Lightweight Derry Mathews (33-8-2, 18 KO’s) was able to pull out a 10th round TKO win over Tommy Coyle (15-2, 6 KO’s) tonight in a fight that Mathews was on the verge of losing at the Craven Park Stadium, Hull, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Mathews hit Coyle with a perfectly timed left hook that sent him down on the canvas.

Coyle was able to climb off the canvas but the fight was stopped once he got back to his feet. Had the referee Phil Edwards allowed it to continue, Mathews would have likely landed another similar bomb on Coyle’s chin he would have gone down the same way. The fight was stopped at 2:41 of the round.

Selby defeats Simion

selby2 Lee Selby (16-1, 6 KO’s) proved that he’s world class tonight in beating WBC International featherweight champion Viorel Simion (16-1, 7 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision at the Craven Park Stadium, Hull, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The judges scored the fight 118-110, 115-113, and 116-112.

I had the fight scored a draw. Selby proved that he’s world class by the simple fact that the 31-year-old Simion is ranked #4 by the WBC. However, Selby showed that there is a wide gulf between him and the current WBC featherweight champion Abner Mares.

Haye: If Fury makes it past the 6th, he’ll have taken the worst beating anyone’s ever had to take

David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) sees his opponent Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) as someone that won’t make it past the 6th round on September 28th. Haye feels he’s going to KO Fury early in this fight, and he’s hoping that Fury makes it easy on him by looking to engage.

Malik Scott: I’ll shutout Chisora
