Adamek is going to get trounced against Wlad. I sure do hope so. Adamek was a minor talent as a light heavy and cruiser yet he holds his own against the heavies because there’s hardly anyone any good. Wlad to give him a torturing the way Vitali did only worse hopefully.

Can’t understand how and why somebody criticizes Adamek!? Are you watching a fight!?
Adamek drop him three times score clear knockdowns, put constant pressure on Cunningham during the whole night!
Adamek clearly won this fight!

That decission was fair.

Posted December 25, 2012 6:04 am

Adamek was the beneficiary of a corrupt decision… He has no chance to beat Wladimir and would just stink the joint out. I don’t see anyone going with him as a challenger after his showing with 40-year-old Vitali … Cunningham would have a much better chance but basically no chance at all.. I see Wladimir fighting guys like Pulev, Haye, and Fury, and then guys like Price, Wilder, Jennings, and Hanks as they come up … But not Adamek.

Varnish- my reply was erased somehow. They must have confused me with Public Enemy:) Thanks my man and right back at you. Merry Xmas to all ESBers.

Varnish- thanks for the kind words and right back at you. I guess fun means different things to different people. I like to talk about the fights and share my point of view, others love to agitate. I always think it’s mostly in fun and the majority of the guys here don’t really mean the ridiculous things they write in here. O at least they wouldn’t dare say them in person:)

Maybe Yoan Pablo Hernandez would be smart to follow uss.c into the heavies.

To put things into perspective…..two world class fighters put on an incredible fight for all of us watching. They let it all hang out for 12 rounds. Hats off to the fighters, their respective teams. and their fans. Remember, they didn’t score the fight!!!

chance??? Adamek will get another beat down. The stars say Povetkin will not take the Wlad fight. Adamek-Povetkin 2013. Pulev-Wlad 2013 Vitali-Haye 2013 Price-Fury 2013 Wilder-tomato can 2013

Well it was mabey not a fare fight, but Tomaz Adamek is still a better fighter between them in the heavyweight league and Adamek haves a better chanse of defeating Wladimir Klitschko then Steve Cunningham, altough the chanse is still small.

KOrnerman-IF you picked all the same WINNERS that I DID then you shouldve posted your predictions like ME so youy can get credit like I DO. But I’m MAN enough to congratulate you anyway. CONGRATS!!! YOU were GREATER than I was for just one Fight!! Well done!

Posted December 24, 2012 5:53 am

ha Bopxtra ypur not bad at picking but I had every one of those as winners, you never picked Froch to Tko Bute like I did,but its ok I will let you hang on my coat tails.

IF I coin flip and hope then everyone else should learn how to coin flip and hope TOO. Because I pick the WINNER A LOT. As a matter of FACT I should apologize to ESB for creating lower site traffic for a couple of weeks due to serving MY Naysayers three straight weeks of Crow Mignon. But that’s what happens when you challenge ME. They SAID that I only pick the Favorite but I tried to explain to them that I mostly pick the WINNER….Senchenko was not the Favorite but he was the WINNER. Guerrero was also not the Favorite but he was the WINNER. Trout was not the Favorite but he was the WINNER. ALSO Marquez was not the Favorite but he WAS the WINNER!!! I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!

Ben hill de nostrebox-LOL. Nah. I wasn’t thinking of any excuses. I was confident in MY prediction thats why I made it. But THANKS for being a fan! I’m not doing this to glorify MYSELF. I’m also doing it for MY fans and Boxing Fans like MYSELF. Every time I pick the WINNER you’re WELCOME to join ME in celebration. Follow MY picks and I will continue to make us ALL look GREAT. First off I generally like Adamek, but he comes off as a bit of hypocrite complaining about Cunningham’s supposed running. Adamek has fought in a similar style when he’s been in there with guys who were larger than him. He wasn’t too willing to go toe to toe with Areola. If all Cunningham did was run than Tomasz’s face wouldn’t look as marked up as it is. If Tomasz’s next fight is against someone who is quite larger than him I bet he’s going to be moving around the ring and not coming straight forward. Then someone should say that he was running.

I save MY analysis for the BIG Fights and this one didn’t qualify for me since it was two NON CHAMPS including one former Contender already defeated by the CHAMP. If you want to see SPOT ON analysis you can see MY analysis of Pacquiao vs. Marquez IV. Its still THERE for all to see…The analysis is SO GREAT that I’m kind of embarrassed because it seems like I CHEATED by coming back from the future and making Fight picks just to make MYSELF look GREAT.

haha boxtra has already thinking about excuses before the verdict …., then … draw …. no Adamek won! I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!! don’t be mad boxtra i’m one of your fans!

Posted December 24, 2012 2:20 am

So who do you think won the fight??? Because it wasn’t Adamek. And if you don’t do an analysis you have no idea who’s going to win or why… You’re doing a coin flip and hoping.

Posted December 24, 2012 1:25 am

Another WINNER picked by Box. There was no analysis needed. When you’re the GREATEST picker of WINNERS ever born sometimes you just have to go ahead and pick the WINNER. I SAID Adamek by decision on the DAY that the Fight was announced and I was CORRECT. I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!

Posted December 24, 2012 12:47 am

Adamek got badly out-boxed… Another bad pick by Box… And no analysis or insight as to how the fight would evolve.. An unknowledgeable coin flip guess … as usual.

Who cares? Cunningham is boring and what did he do to fight an eliminator, anyway?

Posted December 23, 2012 11:16 pm

@ michael…, You’re as ignorant, biased, and blind as 2 of the judges. The consensus score of ringside reporters was 118-110 for Cunningham.. This was one of the 25 worst decisions ever. So bad I recalled the Patterson-Maxim fight from the 1950’s. Joey Maxim always bragged that he beat Floyd Patterson and Ray Robinson, “I beat Heavyweight Champion Floyd Patterson and KO’d Sugar Ray Robinson, the greatest fighter in history.” Joey never mentioned that Patterson was significantly smaller—168 to 177—and only had 13 fights, or that all 11 sports writers at ringside had Patterson winning the fight. An even worse robbery was Willie Pastrano getting a SD over Harold Johnson. Pastrano ran and clinched all night, and had the benefit of a friendly referee who intervened often, breaking loose clinches and ending rounds early. Johnson won 12 of the 15 rounds. The referee ended the last round 3 seconds early … right after Johnson landed a hard right.

That’s not the real Boxtradamus making those racial remarks. Someone has stolen his nick. The real Boxy–much as I despise him–never uses racial slurs or the “n” word. Never. Doesn’t swear either. The real Boxtradamus is a childish, fool braggart, but he’s not the person that’s posting below. I guarantee it. After all, the real Braggadamus–that’s what I call him–is just that–a mere wuss of a Braggadamus.

Adamek won the close fight cunningham run the whole fight ….cunningham just hasn’t doneenough to warrant victory….aggressive fighter with more hard shots won the fight, nothingggg wrong with the decision,!!!1

First of all, THANK GOD for fights on network TV! Takes me back to the days when we got to see great fights Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Now, even though I think S.S. won pretty clearly, he really is not a heavyweight. If he had to run from Adamek, who basically has to run from everybody else in the division, what’s he going to do moving forward against the giants? That great jab he showed yesterday is not going to be as effective against the longer, bigger dudes in the division. Guys like Holyfield and even James Toney had the benefit of sturdy chins, he doesn’t. And Adamek just does not seem to be the same fighter since he fought Vitali.

Posted December 23, 2012 11:21 am

sour eggs fir Adamek and Cunningham . . . maybe it is good, who wants to watch another dance between the two of them. The HW landscape does not change for Adamek and Cunningham. Actually, adamek’s stock may have gone down and looks like a “deserved fight” against Wlad which will probably turn out to be a beat down for Adamek.

Hamer time is probably gone. The USA smoke has cleared again. These guys out of the east zone have deep amatuer careers. Good Amateur turned pro gave Hamer a boxing lesson. Hamer did okay. He saved himself a beating. Glazkow-Price would be interesting.

Posted December 23, 2012 9:34 am

White Jonny

Terrible scoring. Adamek fought for only the last ten seconds of each round, and he wasn’t even effective at that. Sad thing is the judges bought it.

Decision was as bad as Fury vs Mcdermott.

Posted December 23, 2012 8:39 am

Adamek could have done better if not Roger Sh.tworth who kills the finery of boxing in TA. Just dancing and calculations is too little when it comes to face a truly good fighter like Steve. Shame on Adamek for that poor performance. If it was a win, it was a teeth-skin victory which is unconvincing as far as winning the hearts of his fans and his future career goes. Shame on his decision of getting rid of his former couch Andrew Gmitruk. Now Adamek drinks the beer he brewed himself.
I hope to watch some of Mathew Masternak’s bouts in the near future. I personally think that this guy (Gmitruk’s charge from the Sauerland team) is the biggest hope of Polish boxing these days.

Posted December 23, 2012 8:22 am

USS yesterday won and completely not what is surprising Cunn from crying because it was a chance for him that without a doubt and the position Adamek used his name and did not allow USS to win … Boxing is money … the TA simply earn more in the world and for that announced him as the winner
I was very worried that this completely did not see her regress and completely self-critical … is not able to say yesterday …. “the judges announced the winner but to me it does not feel, congratulates Cunn fight … the verdict could have been for him,” it would have sounded different than what later raved-if the TA does not change the staff is Rogger completely destroy him as a boxer …. Adamek won last name rather than the skills and that he better realize it …. died yesterday

sorry for inglish -google translate ;D

The Greatest

Adamek is no heavyweight – you only have to look at him to know that the weight he has gained moving up from light heavyweight has been predominantly fat. All he has going for him is his chin (as well as the judges) and his only legitimate, credible heavyweight win came against an out of shape (even more so than usual) Arreola. Wlad, Vitali, Price, Fury, Haye all take him out inside the distance and I would say numerous others win decisions but after this robbery, I’d be hesitant to pick anyone by decision over this one dimensional, walk forward neanderthal.

Tor should have at least taken a realistic looking dive upon receiving a shot rather than
just stop on his stool. Maybe he could have brought a white flag too.

Gonzo the Dragonborn – ESB Poster of the year 2011-2012-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018

I feel sorry for Tor Hamer and I don’t like it when fans go too hard on fighters for quitting, even if they haven’t been on the receiving end of a beating. Speaking as someone who’s been in the game since he was a young boy, boxing at the highest level as both an amateur and pro, I’ve seen plenty of kids lose their bottle over the years. Boxing is a really tough sport both physically and mentally and sometimes people can just buckle under the pressure and make rash decisions, decisions that they often end beating themselves up about and regretting. No man who’s never had the courage to climb into a ring should come down too hard on one who climbs out of one under great duress. Glazkov was ice cool and totally imperturbable and he had an answer for everything Hamer tried. He’d been steadily upping the pressure from the second round onwards and he was making Hamer pay for each and every mistake he made and Hamer just didn’t know what to do to combat it. He knew things were only going to get worse for him and he just buckled under the mental strain of it all. He seems like a nice kid and I hope he can bounce back.

Posted December 23, 2012 5:18 am

I am Adamek’s supporter, to be sure, but I am ashamed of the verdict.
Cunnigham clearly won the fight. No doubt about it.

What is worse, Adamek’s boxing is deteriorating. He’s become slow and lost his good footwork.
There are three reasons for it: he is not a natural HW and never will be, he is getting older, Roger Bloodworth is a meagre coach (Adamek’s former coach A. Gmitruk was greatly superior to Bloodworth).
Summing up, I’m convinced that Adamek should retire.

Posted December 23, 2012 5:01 am

But it shouldn’t be that way. The guy that lands the most effective Punches should WIN no matter WHAT the Judge likes. If the Judge goes by what HE likes then that’s called being PREJUDICE.

Posted December 23, 2012 4:20 am

B.L. Morgan

I had Adamek a close winner. But the kind of fight it was I wouldn’t have argued with a close Cunningham decision or a draw. A whole lot of the rounds were extremely close.
When a fight is close you really cannot argue with the decision. Then it’s just a matter of personal preference as far as what the judge likes when he sees a boxing match.

Adamek merry x-mas…hope you enjoyed your gift!!!

Adamek, close but CLEAR!

Posted December 23, 2012 2:05 am

Adamek’s Trainer

“It all depends on what you were looking at,” said Adamek’s trainer, Roger Bloodworth. “If you looked at effective punching, which is what the judges saw, they would have give this to Tomasz. If you liked running and being a stylist, then you wanted Cunningham. I think the more effective puncher won this fight, and that was Tomasz.”

Posted December 23, 2012 1:42 am

I only saw the first 8 rounds but I thought Cunningham was clearly ahead. From what I’ve read looks like he got cheated.

Posted December 23, 2012 1:29 am

I didnt see the fight bad decision ruin boxing . was the decision as bad as the pac brradley fight ?with that said hope adamek gets big pay day against wlad and gets out with his health .hope the decision didnt put the final nail in cunninghams career

Posted December 23, 2012 1:28 am

Try and be a judge without personal preference and use a verifiable method to decide who “wins” a fight. Fights are won by winning rounds. Judges use several criteria for evaluating a round: number of connections, effectiveness of punches (which implies power), and which fighter is attacking vs. which fighter is fleeing. Cunningham seemed to match Adamek’s connection rate but he mostly assumed the role of the fleeing fighter and he showed very little effectiveness (power) in his punches. When all else is more or less equal, the fighter who attacks with more effective punches should be awarded the victory. So where is the controversy?

Posted December 23, 2012 1:07 am

I see Good

What a boring fight .. Well Adamek TRIED to fight USS cunningham RAN and RAN and RAN.. I gave the fight to Adamek because he at least wanted to fight. Neither are a threat in the Heavy weight division. And the USA has NO heavy weights in the top 10. Tyson Fury will carry the TORCH once the K brothers decide to hang em up

Posted December 23, 2012 1:06 am

Adamek should go back down to cruiser…fight Huck.It would be a good fight and have some substance to it…because at heavyweight Adamek is losing ground fast.

Posted December 23, 2012 12:53 am

Both guys at this point mean nothing as far as the hvwt. div. goes.

Posted December 23, 2012 12:49 am

Cunningham won the fight 115 – 113, and that is being kind to Adamek. Cunningham had it wrapped up by the tenth round, and Adamek should have needed knock downs or a knockout to beat him at that stage. And even though Adamek was the bigger guy he never really troubled Cunningham, whereas Adamek was caught twice with good power shots. Just because you walk straight at a guy for 12 rounds doesn’t mean you win the fight.

Paddy O’Trenchant.

Bigger and better await neither.

Posted December 23, 2012 12:00 am

Big Ham

Terrible decision. At times i supported Adamek in his career but now i think he has made more money than he deserves. USS should have moved forward in his career from this now he has to move back. Adamek is a dumb SOB, and he is starting to get get fat. He never ever was more than a top 8 hw, and chris arreola should be kicking himself that he ever lost to him. I do not want to watch Adamek fight again ever.

but I only saw the last 5 rounds …. I don’t know what happened before :)

Posted December 22, 2012 11:26 pm

I only saw rounds 8-12 and from what I saw, I can accept Adamek getting the nod. What I don’t accept is the scorecard that was changed from 115-115 to 115-112. That score indicate a knockdown or a point deduction from somebody, and I’m not aware of either of those events occurring in the first 7 rounds that I missed. There is something fishy going on with that.

Posted December 22, 2012 11:22 pm

Big fan of Adamek but he lost that fight, and I don’t understand why he don’t try to face Povetkin for the WBA belt???? Wlad? for the money maybe, but for his dream to becoming heavyweight world champ, nyet, no f%ck!ng way

Posted December 22, 2012 11:21 pm

I was at the fight and with the exception of the most hardcore Adamek fans, the majority of the crowd felt that it was at least a draw. I even spoke to a few Polish fans who felt that Tomasz didn’t win this won. Was it the worst decision in boxing history? Of course not. But it was one of the worst ones of 2012. I personally feel that Tomasz should retire. I don’t think he has a whole lot left. And I like the guy. He hasn’t seemed to be the same fighter since the Vitali fight. As far as Cunningham goes I think he should go back down to cruiserweight. He fought good tonight but will get murdered by the larger heavyweights.

Adamek landed the bigger and better shots all night long; good decision for a change.

Posted December 22, 2012 11:09 pm

Adamek is slipping…never a very good hvwt. in the first place.Adamek must have made good money on his title shot and now should cash in on another big fight.Adamek should fight Price or Fury or Pulev they are being watched people follow those guys and would pay well for a fight with one of them.Adamek I belive would lose but would get a good payday.Because if Adamek dont cash in soon it will be over…his time is near.

Posted December 22, 2012 10:56 pm

lol pawel whos jizz have you been swallowing fool ….

Posted December 22, 2012 10:54 pm

It was NOT a controversial decision. Tomas Adamek won the fight as a true heavyweight deserves it. He had the stronger power punches and was chasing SC around the ring all night long, Adamek was the aggressor. You know, SC reminds me of Eddie Chambers whom also TRIED unsuccessfully to full the judges by running around the ring and sting occasionally like a bee or even less as a mosquito… IT does not work in heavy weight division guys… To Steve Cunningham, if you want to be a force to be reckoned with in heavyweight division then first thing you need to do is to stop listening to that trainer that you have ” Nazim ” whatever his last name is… he is stuck in a Cruiserweight prism and does not realize that you are fighting i a heavyweight division… you need to bulk up buddy and show that you are the aggressor with better power punch other than just an annoying flying mosquito… and dump that trainer and get one that has a heavyweight division experience or go back to cruiser weight you bum and to you all b***** out there stop wining how SC got robbed, he lost fair and square against a better TRUE heavyweight fighter. If SC fought like a true warrior and would engage Adamek like a real man then he would have get KFO period….

Well said Mike…as close as it was well deserved decision for adamek…cunningham just didn’t do enough to warrant a split decision for him

Posted December 22, 2012 10:31 pm

Adamek won….edge to him for power shots, aggresiveness and strong finish to every round…Cunningham just too weak for HW division

Posted December 22, 2012 10:22 pm

Horrible decision. Adamek won maybe three rounds. Cunningham dominated him. But I have learned with Adamek that because he gets a really big Polish crowd to follow him and draws well on TV, any close fight he gets the decision. I thought Eddie Chambers, with one hand, beat him as well. It was very close. But this fight tonight was not even close! Too bad. Network TV never has boxing. So they put on a fight, and it is a rip off.
