End of discussion? You have no idea. Klitschko was up 4-2 in rounds against Lewis, and the fight was a TKO, and only stopped due to a Klitschko cut. Read up the facts before you comment next time.

Lamon actualy got a gift decision against Kali mehan and he was getting his ass kicked from luan Krasniqi until the round 8 who btw beat him,,klitchko, savon and chagaev in the amateurs!

Posted August 4, 2012 6:20 am

Yeah klitchko beat all the bums in the world for the last 8 years and it’s sad USA is producing only bum boxers for so long…
Don’t you have anything better???

BIll you should bother yourself with name. You should also bother yoursel with looking at the rules for getting into the HOF. ONly 3 names get nominated a year (from across all weight divisions) and those 3 nominated aren`t even guaranteed to get in because there is a list of 47 other names waiting of boxers who haven`t got in first time. The boxers on that list include former p4p fighter Don Curry and an excitement machie who unified a division in Naseem Hamed. Virtually everyone who is going to be nominated are going to be multiple or multi weight world champions or champions who have dominated for an extended period. Just because you look at a name already in there and think “oh Brewster won a title he should go in too” that doesn`t make it true. Brewster will probably never even make the ballot – even Ricky Hatton – a two weight world champion who unified belts is probably not going to get in.

Maruisz Wach Vs Wlad. This is a freaking awesome fight.

Bill (KlichKO brothers are the best REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS ever)

So, you wanna say that Vlad was taking a beating before the tko??? THAT’S BS. Rewatch the fight, Vladimir was destroying Lamon all the way. And do you insist that VK didn’t have the stamina for FIVE rounds???? It’s just impossible. Get over it, the outcome was fishy. The man been just poisoned. He suffered a DIABETIC COMA. This sht never happens from punches you take.

Posted August 3, 2012 7:06 pm

Cooper KO’d Ali

Don’t forget Angelo used SMELLING SALTS to insure Clay would revive after KO by Henry Cooper. Maybe Wlad’s corner should have cut his glove and used smelling salts, to buy 30 or seconds so he could survive Brewster’s attack. Why not, Ali got way with it.

whiteman in denial ali was truly the greatest

the k bros have beat nobody fought bum after bum give me a break not 1 kall of fame type fighter have they beat they fought 1 lewis and vitali was disposed of in just 6rds end of discussion

Couldn’t agree with you more Rio. The Klitschko’s are hated now, but if say, Lamon Brewster, or Tony Thompson had the same record and dominated the division, then the American networks would be all over them. An anti-Klitschko sentiment and anti-european one as well. The Klitschko’s will be remembered as one of the greatest fighters the HW division has seen. People slated Lennox Lewis’ style, but it was exactly the same, cautious approach, and he is regarded as boxing royalty now. I’d give Lamon credit, but a decent fighter at best, and not great by any stretch of the imagination.

Brewster vs. Liakhovich is a classic. i don’t think Liakhovich was ever quite the same after that bout. Brewster was an entertaining fighter, but i do not believe he is HOF worthy in my opinion.

Posted August 3, 2012 5:32 pm

Lamon may be a class act and a good fighter. He gave it all every time. But i do not buy this interview or that he was great fighter.

In the interview he subtly hints at the pressure from promoter. I think Don King was his promoter. Had it not been for his promoter, Lamon would never have got a shot at Wlad.

I saw Lamon’s fights with Clifford Etieene and Charles Shufford. Clifford beat him on inside by not allowing him to through haymakers. Shufford beat him on the outside by keeping of his jab. If those were not Lamon’s bad nights , i really wonder.

Wlad was beating Lamon hands down. Then he got tired. The only think i can give credit for Lamon is that he was the last man standing. Not much. That was not his best night but his luckiest one. For all i care.

Lamon came into his own after winning the championship. His wins against Kali Meehan, Andrew Golata and Luan were good. I thought his win against Golata was his best night. He demolished a world class fighter by following a well-known yet prefect plan.

Against Sergie Liakhovich it was a different story. That was Sergie’s best night and Lamon could not have done anything more.

Wlad gassed in his first fight against Brewster. I have nothing against changes, but this sites new look arent good, it reminds me of homepages from the 90´s.

Posted August 3, 2012 2:52 pm

True, Lamon had the fight of his life in his first bout with Klitschko. The previous comment is just silly, about being ‘poisoned’. 2nd fight tho, Wlad was too good, and a much improved fighter. Emanuel Steward has worked wonders, just like he did with Lewis.

Funny how Ernie jumps out of his stupor and somehow gets an assertion out that the good times are here when talking defeat for a Klitschko. Some people are just anti-Klitschko thru and thru and are basically beyond being taken seriously, this would apply to the above mentioned individual although there are a number just like him or worse. This behavior on their part is however actually a credit to the Klitschko ability and perseverance that has allowed them thru their skill and ambition to control heavyweight boxing with an iron fist for a lot of years now. This iron fisted rule of the heavyweight scene by the brothers drives the opposition crowd insane but that is frankly their problem.

Those who believe the first Brewster fight was on the level also believe Oswald was the lone shooter. Flight 800 was a mechanical failure and flying saucers don’t exist.

another bum hall of shame of the weakest division in boxing histroy

You are too old fashion… Evolve !

It’s interesting to read about the former champion.

And Lamon got knocked down but didn’t gassed. The only reason why Vladimir got totally tired so early is he was POISONED. A lot of fights where he is working extremely hard for 8-12 rounds and still has a lot of gas in the tank. Just remind Thompson 1, Chambers, Peter 1, Davey Ga y, ibragimov fights. In fact Vladimir KlichKO has incredibly good stamina which he has proven not once and not twice. Long fight is not a problem for Vladimir. HE WAS CLEARLY POISONED IN THE FIRST BREWSTER FIGHT.

Posted August 3, 2012 1:33 pm

Come on the only active HW’s who should be in the HOF no doubt are Wlad, Vitali and Holyfield. Maybe Haye but more for what he achieved at CW, you seem to suggest HW’s should get in easier than the other weights just because they are HW’s.

Posted August 3, 2012 12:00 pm

Yeah, it goes both directions. He should shut up and be happy he has some health left. If he doesn´t hear what Wladimir has to say he should not talk Helenius that way. Imo he was always very poor defending himself and in a fight against helenius he was even more stationary than his fights against Wladimir. And don´t forget; Helenius hits very hard. So hard that his hands are getting broken every once in a while.

its embarassing how they have bring up a fixed fight from 2004 americans really are pathetic

Bill (KlichKO brothers are the best REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS ever)

btw. may I ask you WHY Brewster, the boxer, the champ, who gave us some great unforgettable moments didn’t deserve his place in HOF. The man has lost his HEALTH in this business. He performed a GREAT fight with LIAKHOVICH, he beat the legend Vladimir KlichKO. What he didn’t do to cement his legacy as a HOF’er?

Bill (KlichKO brothers are the best REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS ever)

Even ex-champs CHAGAEV and Rahman are worthy enough to get in the list of HOF’ers.

Bill (KlichKO brothers are the best REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS ever)

BS! Visit a boxing HOF web site and take a look at BUMS that somehow managed to get in the list. I won’t even bother myself with names. Go see for yourself. Lamont Brewster is a VERY decent candidate for HOF as well as Byrd, Sultan Ibragimov, Davey “Toe” Ga y, and even Samuel Peter. All of these guys are OK for that HOF cause they are former heavyweight champions of the world.

Posted August 3, 2012 6:13 am

Thanks guys I agree! This format sucks. I like the old ESB much better. Why change it, it ain’t broken. In this case it took more steps back.

Posted August 3, 2012 5:45 am

esb, could you be so kind to your readers and please please return the old format by tomorrow. Thank you so much.

If the site is going to show less stories with this new look Slater is going to fill it up in half a day.

This format is horrendous, I just emailed esb and told them how horrible the new format is. I think everybody should complain.

RIP east side boxing…

Posted August 3, 2012 3:07 am

Brewster is going nowhere near the hall of fame, there would likely be a ton of better boxers than Brewster who won`t get in. They don`t just put everyone who held a world title for 5 minutes in the HOF.

BTW. I guess Lamont SET A RECORD in the Golota fight – THE SHORTEST HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT EVER. Correct me if I am wrong.

Bill (KlichKO brothers are the best REAL HEAVYWEIGHTS ever)

I think it’s clear that Vlad has been poisoned that night. He was clearly unusually weak and barely could say a word and could hardly hold his hands high even before those letal punches (which he took fairly well). Anyway…it’s a history. BREWSTER IS CLEARLY A FUTURE HALL OF FAME’ER.

Yeah GREAT FIGHT. I definitely wanna see it.

This is all because of that fool if you don’t see it I do poisoning the boards with his garbage. When the fool comes back it is now much easier to reply to his post directly and for the moderators to handle thier business

this new format is throwing me off. Its no bueno.

Posted August 3, 2012 12:47 am

Ernie the idiot, Brewster never beat Wlad…..Wlad beat wlad by gassing but was never hurt by Lame Brewster.

Posted August 3, 2012 12:09 am

Liked the old format better. Brewster a class act but not a HOFer.

Posted August 3, 2012 12:07 am

Who suggested the new format? The old format was much better. :?:

I think Helenius’ trainers and cornermen should look into a lawsuit for Brewster’s comments. Loaded gloves? What evidence is there?

Posted August 2, 2012 9:28 pm

Lamon has a lot of excuses for his losses, but when Wladimir thought something was fishy in the first fight, Lamon didn’t want to hear excuses. It goes BOTH ways !
