NICE guess MY Jester #2 but Brook will beat Porter by EMBARASSING UD WIN!Posted August 14, 2014 11:33 pm

Ricky Hatton think”s everyone is special even Nathan cleverly. LOL.Posted August 13, 2014 3:06 pm
“Ricky Hatton walked through paper mâché Paulie 5 x Years earlier”
Ricky didn’t even try to walk through the punches. He boxed.
Everybody thought Ricky was going to attack Paulie like Porter did.. But Floyd Sr wanted Ricky to box..
Floyd Sr. knew Paulie couldn’t punch, but also knew he couldn’t box as well as advertised.. Ricky lost the first round by being outjabbed, but Sr was very calm, “Rick… if you can block the jab in sparring you can block it in a fight. Block the jab with your right and jab him in the face. When he misses the jab counter with the right. You’ll hit him every time.. Relax.. loosen up.. you’re all tensed up.”
Hatton won the 2nd round and all the remaining ones.. It was his best pure boxing effort — but he needed 10 more fights like that instead of Pacman — and then retiring for 3 years. Pac and retirement didn’t improve him a lot.Posted August 13, 2014 1:41 pm
Agree with Hatton. Mathysse, Garcia, Maidana, Porter, Thurman, Brook,Peterson. Who is the next Superstar?Posted August 13, 2014 1:38 pm
Mangled my sentence there by revising it; should have been:
in the vast majority of cases they have come up short.
in the vast majority of cases they have not lived up to these expectations.

Brook will win this one by wide UD. This is a really easy pick when you compare the SKILLS. It is like comparing me to Hibdeebibdee or Anonymous. I am the only one that is the greatest fight PROPHET ever born!!!!Posted August 13, 2014 12:30 pm
Ugh oh, Brook just got the Hatton curse.Posted August 13, 2014 12:00 pm
Easy night”s work for porter.Posted August 13, 2014 11:57 am
Brook will shine! Mark my words. He will go thru anything to get that IBF strap! Porter going down!Posted August 13, 2014 11:11 am

Look brook might win but nobody will know how good he is till after the fight because hes never been near this level before . If he beats shawn I will say hes legit n give him props but any analysis of him at this level at the moment is just heresayPosted August 13, 2014 9:15 am
The analysis in this article is rubbish and superficial. I wonder if author has really watched these two guys before. While porter may win it won’t be due to reasons mentioned. Brook has a good jab and follow up and if used well that can dominate an opponent. And his power if delivered well early on can be a disincentive for porter to rush in. I still think porter will win but brook isn’t the b level guy nor porter the star ( not yet ) writer assumes.Posted August 13, 2014 8:05 am
LOL!Posted August 13, 2014 8:04 am
I would like to see Kellie Maloney waving a flag and walking with Kell Brook into the ring
That’ll be enough to put the Yanks off their meatloaf . . .Posted August 13, 2014 7:41 am

Let me to add that I have watched many British fighters over the years travel to the States for big fights, carrying with them big expectations, and in the vast majority of cases they have not come up. Home advantage does count for a lot in these situations, I have come to believe. So to add to my under-informed guesswork, I leave you with that entirely fallible induction.Posted August 13, 2014 7:36 am
Well that’s the first time I’ve been accused either of being American or of being brainwashed. I have watched neither of these fighters enough to arrive at a properly informed prediction, so my guess (which is all that I called it) admittedly carries very little weight. In that respect, however, I am in rather good company. Sure, you cannot make an educated guess about who might win a fight based on so few facts, so call it an poorly informed guess. But at least I am not simply predicting a win for a fighter based on the fact that I come from the same country as him (I grew up less than an hour’s drive from Sheffield). So I can boast neutrality on this, if nothing else.Posted August 13, 2014 7:30 am
To be fair, whens all said and done. This is a cracking fight! Whoever wins its a great fight between two very good boxers. better than that cr*p fed to us with peterson and Carcia last weekend.Posted August 13, 2014 7:03 am
Porter only looked great with Paulie fight.
Porter is solid but so is Special K
If Porter thinks he can just roll over and bully Brook then he is in for a long night.
I still say this makes it to the final bell and SD will be earned by Porter.
Porter winsPosted August 13, 2014 6:57 am
Jake Lamotta only had 30 ko’s in 83 wins and was the first man to knock Sugar Ray Robinson down so power is deceiving sometimes. You American guys have been completely brainwashed in recent years on unbeaten records and guys breezing through fights. You need competitive fights you want people to go through some adversity and come out the other side it makes them a more rounded fighter because of it. So what, he was slightly buzzed off a shot to the temple and then came back to literally decimate Senchenko. He came through the Carson Jones fight in the end that was down to fitness and lack of motivation. Message to FUROR.Posted August 13, 2014 6:54 am
If Kel shows he has a good chin and stamina he wins as better in every departmentPosted August 13, 2014 5:57 am
Even Senchenko had Brook badly buzzed: a Senchenko who landed all night on a completely faded Ricky Hatton who had lost his punch resistance and confidence, who hadn’t been in the ring for three and a half years, and who had to lose a third of his body weight for the fight. Porter destroyed the incredibly durable Malignaggi in four rounds. On the basis of these few facts, my guess is that Porter will get a stoppage.Posted August 13, 2014 5:46 am
Hatton’s famous kiss of death.Posted August 13, 2014 5:41 am
I agree with this writers view about Kel’s poor level of opposition pre this fight. Hearn should have got his cheque book out sooner and got some better competition over to the UK so the step up in level was not so great. Carson Jones and Senchnko are probably Brooks best level of opposition and they are pretty poor really. Hatton has been mentioned here and Warren was clued up enough to get the likes of Stewart, Tackie, Phillips and Oliviera over to the Uk before he delivered the Tyszu fight and he went to the states. Okay Stewart and co. were not elite guys at the time but they were seasons pro’s and a gradual step up in class. Hearn could have got the likes of Malignaggi, Judah, Callazo, Cintron etc over here to give Brook a bit of a test on home soil before throwing him into the lions den. In a lot of ways Brooks career reminds me of Junior Witters. Witter chased Hatton his whole career much in the same way Brook is chasing a Khan fight. Whilst a decent boxer like Brook, Witter was too big a risk whilst not being a big enough draw to get the big fights without forcing a title shot via getting a mandatory position. And like Witter if Brook looses this fight I can see him being put back out on the fringes for a few years before getting another shot.Posted August 13, 2014 5:30 am
And the NEWPosted August 13, 2014 5:12 am
The only advantage Porter has is his quality sparring with the Pacman but then again atleast he will be used to taking a hammering when he faces Kel BrookPosted August 13, 2014 5:11 am
Kell Brook in the UK was seen by many as the second coming of Naseem Hamed
Naseem in his first fight at the weight humiliated him
Not saying the same will happen on Saturday
This board next week will all be talking about Kell BrookPosted August 13, 2014 5:10 am
@DMX Ricky Hatton didn’t go through Paulie like paper mache. It was a TKO in the 11th round and Paulie had his moments but since he lacked punching power he couldn’t blow Hatton away even though he clipped him cleanly numerous times. Porter got the job done earlier though I must add, he beat a less durable but more experienced Paulie.
Apologies . . .
Most of Brooks big fights he has squeaked out decisions
But Hatton walked through paper mâché Paulie 5 x Years earlier
In terms of style Alexander would have been trickier
Porter is a solid capable strong sparring partner for Brooks to look a Million dollars againstPosted August 13, 2014 3:17 am
It should read ” how do you…”Posted August 13, 2014 3:16 am

A good boxing prophet is banned in Las Vegas. Don’t think any one here is. Gee, I’m not banned…Posted August 13, 2014 3:11 am
@DMX how do explain the fact that Brook wasn’t very keen to fight Alexander? He was his mandatory, I understand he got injured and never really tried to get the fight rescheduled. How in the world did Porter get to the belt before him? Brook has always been protected, he’s stepping up in class in this fight and will have a feel of what it means to be elite in the fight game. Brook is no doubt ready and up to the challenge which by no means is easy. Go luck to both men, may the best man win. However, my money is on Porter by late stoppage or decision.Posted August 13, 2014 3:03 am
Kell Brook has been one of the best kept secrets in British Boxing for an eternity
He is not going to waste it
Wide UD decision or stops Porter late depending on how much he is prepared to suck it up
Next up Amir Khan and then Mayweather
You have Box(no clue)tradramus saying Ricky, Dave saying Ricky!?!?!?
Of course Matthew Hatton says that because Brook whooped his ass, what do you expect him to say. I’ve only seen 1 Brook fight which was the Carson Jones fight, and I see no proof of Brook beating Porter.Posted August 13, 2014 1:22 am
Dave . Please mate why don’t you just go on boxrec . Look at a boxers record. It was bloody Matthew Hatton , even says so in the bloody article idiot !Posted August 12, 2014 11:19 pm
hibdeebibdee= I didn’t know Ricky Hatton fought Brook, if you say so, and they did fight, then I stand corrected and admit that I was wrong. My apologies, I am getting old. No Disrespect to K.B. and R.H. fansPosted August 12, 2014 11:10 pm
What is it with you guys who call yourself boxing fans saying never seen Brook fight , picking Porter ……..It’s like the 21st century and you can watch loads of each boxers fights on you tube etc . Then from actually seeing what they have and have not got base your judgement from that .Posted August 12, 2014 10:57 pm
There’s not much difference in their level of opposition, except for Devon Alexander. That’s a valuable fight to have, especially winning it.
Both are facing the best KO punchers they’ve ever faced… The thing that could put a damper on the fight is if they tasted each other’s power and boxed super cautiously for the remainder of the fight. I don’t expect that to happen. This is too big – with too much at stake.
Brook is the better puncher. He’s got a natural stroke that can KO anybody.
Porter never looked like a killer puncher until the Malignaggi fight..
Maybe Porter was exposed to a new trainer. Maybe he stepped up his strength training. Whatever it was, he was throwing bombs at Paulie. When he started making contact it was like, “Whoa baby!! This boy’s not taking prisoners.” It was evident early on that Paulie was going to get smashed out.Posted August 12, 2014 10:42 pm
That was Matthew Hatton Boxtra… Try to pay attention.Posted August 12, 2014 10:40 pm
RICKY was a decent PROFESSIONAL fighter but he is an AMATUER prophet. I am a the GREATEST PROFESSIONAL prophet ever Born!!! predicting PORTER wins by SLAUGHTERHOUSE knockout!!!Posted August 12, 2014 10:28 pm
Dave, Brook fought Hatton in March of 2012 and beat him by UD.Posted August 12, 2014 10:18 pm
Dear Author, Hatton and Brook never fought. Hatton never lost a decision to Brook to the best of my knowledge, because they never fought. Did they? And his name is SHAWN PORTER NOT STEVE PORTERPosted August 12, 2014 10:06 pm
Blah blah, blah…
Malignaggi is known to have a good beard and Porter just annihilated him. Never seen Brook fight but I think he gets wreck in this fight. We’ll see.Posted August 12, 2014 9:14 pm

Haven’t seen Brook in the ring so I can’t call it but I’m riding with PorterPosted August 12, 2014 9:03 pm

Geez hasn’t the ESB tone picked up with good sensible interesting comments, sans Sredmond posts. I wonder if he has been whacked by one of the people he has been abusing from safety for many months now…Posted August 12, 2014 8:45 pm
He has the same chances that Hutton had against Floyd Mayweather jr. The choices are slim to none and slim died. Porter by Tko9.Posted August 12, 2014 6:39 pm
GREAT chances are LESSER than WINNING. Porter with the SLAUGHTERHOUSE WIN.Posted August 12, 2014 6:08 pm
