Fight Aficionado

Put a fork in USA Boxing. A shameful performance. What happened to the shakeup they promised after 2008? They hired a head coach 6 weeks before the Olympics began and he wasn’t even eligible to work the corner. He was shouting instructions from the stands. It’s a comical failure if you don’t want the Americans to win.

Gonzo The Dragonborn

Since the break up of the Soviet Union the USA has moved right down the pecking order in amateur boxing. Even the Cubans have been hit hard by that too. I thought the USA were lucky to get a bronze at the last Olympics too.. Wilder only won his bout against the Moroccan on countback and it could easily have gone the other way.

“You don’t get good..unless you fight good fighters……….BILLY CONN” – maybe someone should tell Wilder this true statement.

I gotta tell you…..UK amateur Boxing has been a growing concern for more than the last ten years…and it shows at the world championships

UK is not Cuba…nor Eastern Europe….but UK is definately a power in years to come…..due to the amateur program that is rolling….for years now…..

I guess that the transfer from amateur to Pro is not so great a stretch as …say …Canada…or Cuba

You don’t get good..unless you fight good fighters……….BILLY CONN
