Well said, Mark. Anonymous is an idiot. Doesn’t even know what colour I am. Can he till from my typing? I don’t think so. Hey, maybe my name gives the game away.

haha Who said i was mad? What is he the best in the world at? what is he the best in the world at? Think about it. Your feeling good because someone who achieves something happens to have the same colour skin as you! Thats a bit like me bragging because someone achieves something who has the same shaped head or nose as me.
You have a serious problem about yourself if you feel like this. Take my advice and be an individual. I’m a fan of boxing I couldn’t care what colour they are or what country they are from.

Pound for Pound does not exist. It make no sense at all. Does it mean he can beat anyone at any weight? Does it mean he has more skill or is faster than anyone at any weight? Does it mean if he went up to heavyweight he would still move the same as now? What the hell does pound for pound mean?

Posted February 20, 2014 2:10 pm

Also its not like the 2 people that did stop khan couldn’t bang either. In fact when Prescott fought Khan im sure he had koed almost everyone he had fought.

Posted February 19, 2014 9:32 pm

Are there two non-stick coating on here? One called ‘teflon’, the other called “Teflon”?

‘teflon’ put up a good, thoughtful post. ‘Teflon’ is a fvckwit.

Teflon: “Yeah kahn got so much speed and power he Got KTFO”

Fvck off, Teflon. Khan’s been stopped exactly twice in 31 fights. To make things clear for you, that means he wasn’t stopped in 29 fights. And he won 28 of those.

Of the 28 wins, 20 were by KO of TKO. To make things clear for you, that means that Khan stopped the other guy.

Any fool, except you apparently, can see he’s got speed. A 71% KO rate means he’s got decent power. And two stoppages in 31 fights does not equal a glass jaw.

Sad Ken

To Daveisdead, people love to hate a flashy fighter with questionable punch resistance like Khan. They prefer the super tough chinned, yet slightly more limited Maidana.

I’d love to see Khan bamboozle Mayweather with speed and angles. I can’t see it lasting more than a few rounds before Mayweather figures him out and slips into his usual routine however. I do agree Khan has more of a chance than Maidana, who I think Mayweather would win every round against.

Posted February 19, 2014 9:12 am

Khan is gonna cause the biggest upset since Buster Douglas, defeated Mike Tyson…..and all the Irrational, fanatical Khan haters are gonna have cardiac arrests.

Posted February 19, 2014 8:59 am

Seriously. The amount Khan hate on here is both astonishing and depressing. I’m afraid that the “facts” don’t agree with the anti-Khan vitriol many of you are spouting. Khan is a world class opponent. He has fought (and won) against many other world class opponents INCLUDING Maidana who he beat. I find it hilarious the number of people saying “Maidana is so much better/is more deserving (whatever that means) than Khan”

I just don’t equate or understand how anyone in their right mind can say Khan is any less deserving than Maidana or indeed anyone else. Mayweather has to fight someone and the pickings are very slim indeed once you look past Manny. Khan trains incredibly hard, has excellent speed, decent power and has already beaten fair and square (I don’t think ANYONE disagreed with the result) Maidana, his main rival for this bout. It is unlikely he will beat Mayweatehr, but then again Money has never been one to go for either the truly dangerous fights. Finally, if Mayweather is as good as everyone says he is (which I don’t doubt) then using the “he has no chance” excuse to exclude Khan can be used in exactly the same way for any other fighter available.

Personally, I would LOVE to see this fight. I don’t think Khan will win, but he’ll be a hell of a lot better than most of the haters on this board think he will be. I think he’s WAY more dangerous to Mayweather than Maidana would ever be.

Posted February 19, 2014 8:51 am

@mansworld , out of these two choices Maidana and khan that mayweather picked himself

Khan has a much better chance against mayweather … If you ask me who would beat mayweather in ww right now ,I will tell you two boxers and those are
Paqiao and Thurman but mayweather will never take those fights , to dangerous for his lagacy …

Posted February 19, 2014 7:34 am

And on it goes …

“Khan is not knocking guys out …” Yeah, except he’s got a 71% KO rate.

“Khan has a brittle chin … ” He’s been KO’d exactly twice in 31 fights. He doesn’t have a granite chin, but it’s not the piece of china some make it out to be.

Can’t you guys think up something more original (and more accurate) than “no power, glass chin”?

Maidana 100%

Posted February 19, 2014 3:28 am

Here are four reasons Mayweather vs. Khan isn’t such a bad idea:

1. Brash Personalities
It’s become a typical scene heading into a Floyd Mayweather fight. Boxing’s pound-for-pound king hurls all sorts of insults at his opponents, but you rarely hear them fire back with witty phrases of their own.

That won’t be the case with Amir Khan.

Khan enjoys talking as much as Mayweather does, so the build up to their bout would be filled with entertaining anecdotes and sharp comebacks. That should lead to solid ratings for Showtime’s All Access show.

2. Speed
Floyd Mayweather typically enjoys a decent speed advantage over his opponents, but that won’t be the case if he ends up squaring off against Khan in May. At the very least, Amir should be able to match Mayweather’s speed, which means he might be able to give Money problems early on, just like Zab Judah did during the opening rounds of his 2006 encounter with Floyd.

3. Willingness to take risks
Some would say Amir Khan’s biggest weakness as a boxer is the fact he has a tendency to get carried away during fights. He doesn’t clinch up with his opponents when he should, and his typical reaction to getting hit hard is to drop his guard, step forward, and swing for the fences. Khan’s mental immaturity cost him big during his three loses, and it might very well lead to his demise if he ends up facing Mayweather in May.

It sure would make the fight entertaining to watch though.

4. Nationalistic British fans
It’s no secret, British boxing fans can be fanatical, especially when it comes to Floyd Mayweather. You know, the guy that handed their golden boy, Ricky Hatton, his first professional loss inside the squared circle (Floyd’s last legitimate knockout), a loss the Brit never fully recovered from.

Heck, while we’re at it, we might as well blame Mayweather for all of Hatton’s problems since then, from excessive weight gain to drug issues.

That ought to be enough to fire up British fans, meaning decent Sky Sports pay-per-view sales. Probably enough to make up for what might end up being weak sales — at least compared to Mayweather vs. Saul Alvarez — in the U.S.

Adrian all the rimming and the speed in the world wont save Kahns ass, Floyd neutralizing guys weapons, With body shots and accurate over hand rights and counters thats why its only competitive for the first 3 round every time he walks them down and wears them out. Kahn will not be able to hand anything with significance and he will wind on tasting way to much leather. Floyd is head and shoulders above these guys. You need a well rounded fighter Oscar gave him a good run but he ran out of gas and was too old f. You have to have impeccable stamina boxing IQ and defense someone just like him or wait until he gets old but he it looks like he is getting better with time.

Posted February 19, 2014 1:45 am

Tark timing without speed behind it dosent guarantee you success as is speed without good timing also you could have great timing and good speed but if you lack boxing skills like a right follow up with right combination after a timed punch it won’t be enough to be sucssesfull

And then there are other elements that you need to have like the right strategy for each opponent you face with adecuate strategy like taking advantage with the hight ,power or pressure depends what attributes bring the opponent so everything is relative but being fast genetically is a big plus !

Example the fight you mention below Tyson vs Douglas the reason is not only better timing that Douglas had it was also using to his favor his hight advantage and wasn’t intimidated by him , and I don’t agreed with mike here when he said the reson for Tyson loss against Douglas was that he wasn’t the same fighter or was unprepared , Douglas would always be tough for Tyson as would a lot more boxers with similar style as Douglas like Lewis Bowe and the klitchkos

Who else is Khan going to beg to say nice things about him? I think Manny just said a few nice things too, it sounds like Khan is texting everyone he knows in the sport trying to get support and comments made to the media about how great he wants everyone to think he is. What a desperate beggar. Maidana please, Floyd. Khan is a joke and everyone knows he just wants a retirement pay day anyway.

Tark timing against a faster fighter is usually unsuccessful because naturally a peson who depends on fast twitch muscle fibres will have better timing. Humans are not perfect though and cant be focused 100% in every fight or in peak condition. Hence your list. An example is Hearns and Barkley. Hearns speed got him a hell of a lot further as a great boxer. Barkley was less successful, not because of timing but because hearns was a good bit faster.

Timing is needed when cycling PEDS.

Posted February 18, 2014 8:58 pm

Also Maidanas timing was certainly not the deciding factor. The aggressive tactic he used and the amount of punched thrown were what won Maidana the fight because Broner doesnt throw enough punches. Maidana would never have won that fight if he just sat back and timed punches.

Posted February 18, 2014 8:45 pm

Also some of them are not what you make out. Tyson was not the same fighter when he fought Douglas. Jones was defo not the same fighter at that stage. Barkley wasnt timing anything he was just hoping something would land.
If the biggest factor in boxing wasnt speed we would constantly see the faster fighter losing just as much to slower fighter, but this isnt the case.
this is because almost every fighter at top level has to have timing anyway. But the fastest ones almost always prevail because speed is the biggest factor. timing is only more relevant the closer the gap is in the speed of the 2 people fighting.

Beggar Khan will sit it out until September and wait for a Floyd pay day. He’ll say his hands are sore, or his shoulder hurts, or his toe is swollen. Remember, Beggar is friends with David Haye, the master of excuses, so Beggar will be prepared with plenty of reasons why he cannot fight anyone else ever again unless it’s Floyd. Don’t waste your time on this clown champ.

“Roy Jones is a perfect example of speed being the biggest factor in boxing.” … Roy sure got knocked out a lot.

Timing is much more important than speed… No matter how fast you throw, if your timing is off you won’t ice anybody.

Roy Jones was fast… Tarver had better timing KO
Judah was fast… Tszyu had better timing KO
Khan was fast… Garcia had better timing KO
Sillakh was fast… Kovalev had better timing KO
Conn was fast… Louis had better timing KO
Tyson was fast… Douglas had better timing (Got Mike on the right night) KO
DeJesus was fast… Duran had better timing KO
Hearns was fast… Barkley had better timing (At least good enough) KO
Donaire was fast… Rigondeaux had better timing UD12
Trout was fast… Lara had better timing UD12
Broner was fast… Maidana had better timing UD12
Mares was fast… Gonzalez had better timing KO
Pacquiao was fast… Marquez had better timing KO
Williams was fast… Martinez timed his shot well KO
Mike Quarry was fast… Foster had perfect timing KO

Obviously Ward is overlooking Mayweather’s ability to punch with direct and accurate punches. AND Khan’s weak chin. Yes, he does have a weak chin.

Posted February 18, 2014 7:20 pm

Roy Jones didnt have a chin but i believe he is the greatest boxer in the history of the sport. I dont think any other human has been gifted with fast twitch fibres like Roy Jones. Nobody could in history could match jones for speed.

Posted February 18, 2014 7:06 pm

Ward clearly knows the game well and is a superb technician and he showed he knows exactly what he is talking about regarding styles when he called it absolutely spot on with Canelo amidst all the hype and PR nonsense from the writers and pundits who were giving Canelo a chance.

Posted February 18, 2014 6:59 pm

We know Khan doesnt have a great chin but this doesnt mean he can beat Mayweather. Khan also has enough power to hurt Mayweather.
I dont believe its down to who has the best chin in this fight i believe its down to speed and style. I believe Khan throws quicker combinations and will use his reach, but i also think Khans foot work isnt that great.
I believe Mayweather will be surprised at Khans hand speed if they do fight.

Maidana was in dire straights from that body shot. lol

It don’t matter how many shots they took of Khan. A lot of his shots are speed shots that don’t have much weight behind them. He’s not a big puncher but your litmus test makes no sense as neither Garcia or Maidana have been stopped before. I don’t even think Garcia hasn’t even been off his feet yet.

Floyd would not be in considering this fight if Khan’s chin wasn’t forged out of the most brittle substance found on planet Earth. That’s a cast-iron irrefutable stone cold fact.

Khan has blazing hand speed but his brittle Tiffany glass old lady mandible ensures that he hits the canvas faster than any punch he’s ever thrown whenever the breeze of one of his opponent’s shots brushes past it.

Posted February 18, 2014 5:45 pm

Khan hits hard enough to ko anyone .. Mosley hits hard but he didn’t have the youth and conditioning to pressure mayweather as khan has it now .

Posted February 18, 2014 5:38 pm

Mayweather didn’t brawl against corales he was counter punching him all night and khan dosent have the same style then corales , khan won’t be chasing floyed he will probably fight from the distance .

Maidana even though is tough he will end up being beaten by mayweather just like gatti did who had a similar speed as Maidana has now at the time he fought mayweather

Posted February 18, 2014 5:30 pm

I sort of understand what you are saying but I just don’t think the fight would be that good or even competitive. I don’t think the fight goes more than 8. Yeah Mosley hurt Floyd but Khan does not have the punching power of Mosley.

Posted February 18, 2014 5:28 pm

True oppositions to Mayweather are fighters that hit hard, because no one can outbox Mayweather. Most hard hitting fighters are slow, but they’re the only ones we can say “they have a punchers chance”, we can’t say that about a pure boxer. That’s why Maidana is a more interesting fight than Khan, many are waiting for Mayweather to get laid out

Posted February 18, 2014 5:24 pm

PEEJ i think this is why the fight is a good matchup because Khan does have flaws, but its also very interesting because Khan fighting the right fight could turn out to make this a very competitive fight. I also cant stop thinking about how Mosley badly rattled Mayweather when they fought.
I think this will be one exciting fight.

Posted February 18, 2014 5:09 pm

I wanna see Khan get the fight just to see the reaction from Khans Hate Base, these guys are gonna be living on this forum for the next couple of months, adding to the hype without realising it………..!

Posted February 18, 2014 4:52 pm

MHagler- I would be very surprised as well if Porter gets a shot. Floyd has done this before, where he put out the news he might be fighting Alexander to make Canelo nervous (probably to get him down to 152). Floyd really must be enjoying seeing Khan go through hoops like this. A part of me wishes Khan does get the fight and then kicks Floyd’s egomaniac ass left and right. But then Khan opens his mouth and drives me crazy.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:41 pm

Khan does have faster hands but he is not as quick. Meaning Floyd sees an opening and can throw right away. It registers quicker. As for Khan, it doesn’t. So when Floyd sees that opening on Khan then Floyd will exploit it.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:32 pm

@Mark…We all forget that Mayweather does have the ability to brawl, look at the bouts against Manfredo and Corrales. Just that Mayweather has chosen to fight the way he does now for several reasons, to take less punishment in order to have a longer successful career and to compete against naturally bigger opponents

Posted February 18, 2014 4:30 pm

But I think with Mayweather its not as bad because mayweather doesnt like getting into a brawl. I really dont think Mayweather will pressure Khan enough. And Khan definitely has faster hands than Mayweather

Posted February 18, 2014 4:20 pm

DLP I agree this is Khans biggest flaw is his foot speed doesn’t match his hand speed. I think Khans footwork is terrible at time to the point were hes falling over his own feet.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:17 pm

Chris Eubank said years ago that a powerful Hate Base was worth ten times more then a fan base…….Looks like he was right. …!Amir Khan has the most powerful hate base in Boxing, and these numpties aqre gonna help him get the Mayweather fight…lol.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:03 pm

I don’t get it, where has Khan’s speed and power gotten him? He’s been knocked out by slower opponents than Mayweather

Posted February 18, 2014 4:00 pm

I think Porter has a mandatory he has to fight first. Khan deserves everything he is getting since he ran from the Alexander fight. He doesn’t deserve the Floyd fight and I would be willing to bet that if he did fight Floyd it wouldn’t last 8 rounds.

@srminimo theres no chance of Porter getting a shot anytime soon….Hell no ones talking about him….Khan has by accident over the last few years
,become one of the most talked about guys in Boxing….Even the Anti-Khan writers are all leading their articles with Khan, very few articles being written about Maidana.

Posted February 18, 2014 3:37 pm

If Porter does get the Mayweather fight, as someone suggests, it would be lthe ultimate slap in the face to Khan, as he decided not to fight Alexander to not tisk losing the chance to fight Floyd, and instead the guy who DOES fight Alexander does.
Poetic justice for sure.

Roy Jones is a perfect example of speed being the biggest factor in boxing. Timing is only through practice. Also people go on about ring IQ. If you are extremely fast it can make you look like your are more intelegent when actually your just able to react a lot faster than someone no so fast. When someone is as fast as Jones was at his best then timing alone wont save you at all.

Mark that’s exactly right !

Adrian timing is something that every boxer can learn. Speed on the other hand is genetic

Posted February 18, 2014 3:07 pm

True but to have a good timing you need speed …I know it first hand I boxed before

Posted February 18, 2014 3:24 pm

I agree Adrian, Khan will cause him problems if he stays outside and uses his speed

Posted February 18, 2014 3:24 pm

@Pistol ,
I am not a fan of khan now and I have never been but I am simply analizing the match up .

If you ask me who I like to see mayweather against in ww are fights against paqiao or Thurman but khan has a style to give him problems too and surely more problems than Maidana because of the fact thAt Maidana is come forward fighter and is not that fast plus he is 140 pounder too let’s not forget that .

And when you say khan leaves himself open you are right but he does that when he attacks and gets at head of himself and thinks he can get a ko , example the garcia fight where he was the agresor and against the Maidana when he got hurt late in a fight and instead of trying to recover and not engage he actualy traded with Maidana .

But against mayweather it will be different because I think khan will box from the distance and if mayweather try’s to attack and stop khan he will be in big danger because of khan speed and reach … But I think mayweather won’t try that he is to smart and as a result of that it will be a close fight and definetly mayweather won’t stop him

Posted February 18, 2014 3:22 pm

If Khan gets the fight its gonna massive impact on this forum lol….The reaction from Khans super dedicated Hate base, is gonna be real funny.

When someone is as fast as Jones was at his best then timing alone wont save you at all.

Posted February 18, 2014 3:12 pm

Adrian timing is something that every boxer can learn. Speed on the other hand is genetic

Posted February 18, 2014 3:07 pm

Timing beats speed. Khan not earned it one little bit. Maidana please, champ.

Posted February 18, 2014 2:05 pm

Lol and what timing has Maidana ??

Posted February 18, 2014 3:06 pm

I agree with psy and Shawn… I’m not even anti-Khan… I just don’t think him or Maidana is FMM worthy. I would pay to see PacMan or Bradley, that’s it.

Posted February 18, 2014 3:06 pm

@MJames lol….uh oh Khan is gaining momentum, looks like you need to up your game Bro, and increase that propaganda.

Posted February 18, 2014 3:05 pm

Fight Aficionado

LOL all these guys lobbying for Khan to get his Floyd fight. Ward and Khan were stablemates when Khan went with Ward’s trainer and set up camp in Oakland. It’s like me saying my buddy should get a multi-million $ payday because he’s fast.

Khan will give Floyd problems – problems selling the PPV.

Posted February 18, 2014 2:44 pm

Khan’s Cuz Achmed

Amir will catch Floyd with harder shots than he has ever tasted. An old worn down Mosley who we all respect nearly got the job done. Amir will not tire like Mosley and will land at will. Mayweather knows it hence the delay. #KingKhan2014 #NoWayOutFloydee #PacquiaoEatsDuckFetus #BigBoiDollaz

Posted February 18, 2014 2:05 pm

I’m starting to think maybe Khan should get his chance.

If you weigh up all the arguments.

Khan has always has wanted to fight Mayweather,
Mayweather excels against pressure fighters and frustrates them into making mistakes.
Khan does have the reach and speed to cause some problems.
And with another game plan can try to make Mayweather come to him.

Sure he’s not got a great chin, but he should use that to not get in a fight and to fight at range. It will Atleast make a change from the same old formula that every other opponent employs against Mayweather.

I don’t think he will win, but it might be different, and apart from the middleweights, who else

Posted February 18, 2014 1:11 pm

Kahn does has speed, he does have power, he does have decent boxing skills. But, he has no chin. PBF isn’t the knockout artist but he hits hard enough and is accurate enough, to get Khan out of there within 12 rounds. If Maidana or Garcia can land flush on Khan and hurt him, PBF surely can. Neither Maidana or Khan are PPV worthy fights for PBF, in my humble opinion. In my opinion, the only PPV worthy fights left for PBF at 147 or 154 are Pac-man and Bradley. I can’t see ANYBODY else being competitive enough with PBF at this point, to warrant spending PPV $’s on.

Wishful thinking Boxing Barlow and Adrian (2 Khan fans)… but if you use your head and not your heart you will know this fight will not be the least bit competitive. I wish I was wrong becasue I want a competitive fight. Khan has proven to be a very undisciplined fighter who leaves himself wide open to counter punches. This is something you either have or do not have. It needs to be groomed during the early amateur years. A late career trainer change will not change this zebra’s stripes. He may hit Floyd with a couple jabs, but his undisciplined style will, as it often does, leave him wide open to counterpunches… not a good idea against Mr. Mayweather.

Posted February 18, 2014 12:45 pm

Khan would not make it the whole 12 rounds with Floyd. Floyd would counter with his left hook and that would pretty much be the end of Khan. He doesn’t know how to get out of the way of a left hook and as he shown in the Hatton fight, his left hook has some power to it.

Boxing Barlow , totally agree with you

Khan is begging online for his followers to harass Floyd. Shameful.

Amir Khan is going to take Mayweather to a new place! Im not predicting that Khan will win but I do beleive Mayweather will have to adapt and may have to go to a plan ‘b’. I honestly think Khan stands a better chance than any of Mayweathers previous victims. However my big concern is I actually think whilst winning his recent fights Khan has actually looked worse under Hunter than he did under Roach.

Posted February 18, 2014 11:55 am

“Heck most people on here anyways don’t like Floyd so why do they even care. Ridiculous. ”

LOL! Good point Peej.

Posted February 18, 2014 11:04 am

Of course it’s natural that Andre Ward is defending the abilities of Khan because of his close relationship with Virgil Hunter. It is also highly likely that privately he knows there is no reason to believe Khan has the slightest chance against Floyd Mayweather. Khan has been overly hyped in the UK and some in the big boxing audience there believe the hype. If the fight happens it won’t be close. Mayweather by KO early (even though he’s not knocking opponents out now days).

Posted February 18, 2014 11:03 am

Khan should have no complaints in this. Didn’t he do the same thing to Alexander? This after talking trash with Alexander. All this does is make Khan look like a little baby. So what if Floyd is taking forever to pick an opponent. Heck most people on here anyways don’t like Floyd so why do they even care. Ridiculous. Yeah I am a fan of Floyd but really I could care less if he fights in May.

Posted February 18, 2014 10:58 am

I can’t blame Khan in this. i blame Mayweather for taking so long to make this anouncement. Khan wants to fight. Win lose whatever he wants to fight mayweather. Its sad that Mayweathers ego in in the way once again making everyone wait till what he decides

Posted February 18, 2014 10:44 am

Oh, let’s just stop with all the fuss and make the fight You can’t blame Khan for working so hard and talking so much to make this fight happen. After all, he was hoping for a fight with Mayweather before he lost his titles and before he left Freddie Roach. So it’s nothing new–Amir has wanted to fight Floyd for a long time and he’s always been vocal about it. And you got to give the guy some creds–how many boxers want to step into the ring with Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Danny Garica doesn’t, for one.

However, I’m thinking that it doesn’t matter whether Floyd fights Khan or Maidana. Both fights will sell well, especially if the fight is held in England.

I still say Maidana will give Mayweather the toughest fight of his welterweight career, so from that viewpoint I’d like to see him get the fight. But a bout with Khan would be equally, if not more entertaining, so both have the potential to be very good fights.

Stop the fussing and make the fight!

Mayweather KO 1 Khan.

Posted February 18, 2014 10:26 am

Yeah Khan was telling lies about sparring Ward and got flushed out when Ward said he’d never sparred with Khan. Khan is begging online for his followers to harass Floyd. Shameful.

Posted February 18, 2014 8:45 am

But didn’t Khan say he’d been sparring with Ward and had taken his shots just fine? Hmmmm, methinks he was telling fibs.

Posted February 18, 2014 8:39 am

Look at how Khan begged Andre Ward to go on camera and say nice stuff about him. Sad.

Posted February 18, 2014 7:36 am

Watch Money walk him down and beat him up.

Posted February 18, 2014 7:06 am

Sad Ken

Of course Khan has a chance, he’s a professional boxer and a previous holder of title belts, he has a chance, to say he has “no chance” is ridiculous.

However, Mayweather always finds a way to win fairly impressively even when we think he’s going to be pushed hard, and Khan isn’t the man to push him hard.

Best case scenario, Khans speed catchs Mayweather off guard it’s close for a few rounds before Mayweather starts piling up the points as usual to a comfortable UD.

P.S. Aye, Khans begging looks bad btw.

Posted February 18, 2014 6:49 am

Listen you fvcking dweebs – Khan has lost 3 times in 31 fights. Only twice has he been stopped; once by Prescott, once by Garcia. One loss was a robbery (Peterson). How this means he has a glass chin, I don’t know.

Of the 28 fights he has won, 20 were by KO or TKO. That’s a 71% KO percentage. How this means he doesn’t have any power, I don’t know.

I don’t care if you hate him – just don’t talk crap while you’re doing it.

Posted February 18, 2014 6:48 am

Get over it

Poor a mere con he is acting desperate and pathetic he should fall back and let things happen Floyd is playing him like a pawn…

Edgar Guevara

Payday fight for Khan, that is it. Mayweather is taking his sweet time to announce who is the one?

Posted February 18, 2014 6:34 am

You don’t ask somebody’s stablemate or trainer if you want to get an honest opinion of a boxer. They’ll never say, “He’ll get KO’d.”

When Ward uses terms like “any given night” it means the same as saying “don’t count him out.” Right… until he gets hit. Then count.

You might say the same thing about Joey Abell if you share the same trainer.

About the only honest answer I remember from somebody close to a boxer was from Ron Stander’s wife — when a reported asked her what she thought about Stander getting a title shot.

She scoffed and said, “You don’t put a Volkswagen in the Indianapolis 500.”

Posted February 18, 2014 6:01 am

The ghost

That damn chin and wobbled legs. Yes you may have the power and speed but you will lose both if Floyd will exploit khan’s chin. So fragile as others may say.

Posted February 18, 2014 5:17 am

Can have all the speed and power in the world…its useless if you can’t take a punch back.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:47 am

Martin “El Bruchador” Honorio

Ward likes Khan’s speed and power but he’s thinking ” but I’m gonna bet on Mayweather if they fought”. LOL

Posted February 18, 2014 4:38 am

Lots of people would like his speed, but after that he has nothing to give,

Posted February 18, 2014 4:14 am

Same trainer and providing support, what else is he going to say.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:13 am

Credibility gap. that’s what they called it during the Vietnam war, and it is appropriate to apply this now as “Khan’s speed and power” is just nonsense. Speed yes, but power no. Rather it should be Khan’s speed, glass chin, and chicken walk.

Posted February 18, 2014 4:11 am

Who gives a crap what Ward thinks, hey ward- fight somebody bum

Posted February 18, 2014 4:03 am

15th Rnd. KO

I SHOULD BE GETTING A PAY DAY LIKE THAT after cleaning up everythang and staying undefeated !!! OK Virg … I`ll just say that this MF`er`s …hmmm…”AWKWARD” !!! LOL !!!! You can make this stuff up !!

And yet again you say Maidana is better opponent than khan for mayweather who actually lost to khan btw …

Posted February 18, 2014 3:12 am

Matt hung

Khan had no chance against Peterson ??? Lol really ?? Khan fought him in his backyard and got robbed big time and you say he had no chance against Peterson ?

Where do you place those fighters he beat like Maidana , Judah ,malinagi , Barrera kotelnik etc … ?

Posted February 18, 2014 3:09 am

Get over it

This dont surprise considering Virgil Hill trains Kahn the same trainer Ward has. What else is new Kahn has speed and power? He he got KTFO by Garcia he is not a treat to Floyd he has a punchers chance at best. Kahn needs to fall back be quiet and stop acting desperate…

Posted February 18, 2014 2:52 am

How funny, seems like Khan has begged Ward to say something nice about him. Khan is trying to cash out and everyone smells his desperation. Maidana please, Floyd.

I had to throw Khan a bone after I busted him out a few weeks ago that we never sparred together. Virgil was making a big stink about it. Your welcome Khan.

Posted February 18, 2014 2:08 am

Matt Hung

very annoying seeing/hearing many in the boxing world, especially fighters and reputable trainers talk all this nonsense about amir khan having a chance vs. mayweather because of khan’s speed and movement, blah blah.

we shouldn’t even be talking about khan, let alone talking about khan vs. the p4p #1. khan is damaged goods and way past his prime

and even when khan was in his prime, he was a B+ fighter at most and only at 140lbs. he lacked smarts and the chin to be able to compete for a sustained period of time. khan stood no chance vs. the likes of provo, garcia, mathysse and peterson.

now ppl talking about khan at 147lbs vs. the best? i mean, what a joke. and i respect andre ward a ton, but he’s gotta be outta of his mind.

either ward has drank the kool-aid, or he is simply going along with virgil hunter because ward knows that if khan gets the fight, then virgil hunter gets paid.

Sometimes ridiculous natural ability is enough.

Posted February 18, 2014 1:41 am

no chance whatsoever.
