Yes, BHOP CAN make 160. BHOP is a student of the body. He doesnt eat genetically engineered GARBAGE that most everyone else does. THAT is how he performs the way he does at his age. He could make 160 and still be healthy, BUT how much power and stamina he would have left, would be in question. Doesnt matter though, since Floyd the business man takes little to no risks. JUST like a corperation.Posted December 13, 2013 4:07 pm
I was begining to warm up to Floyd a little here recently, but with his latest statments, “I fight who my team tells me to fight” Obviously COMPLETE BS, since FM jr RUNS HIS OWN SHOW! and: “when you get to this level, its a business.” pffft! Thanks for confirming with your own mouth what I knew your attitude was for years! He is a VERY VERY GOOD busines man with A+ boxing skills, but no longer a FIGHTER!Posted December 13, 2013 3:53 pm
PTS – I agree with most all of your last post, but Floyd’s skill level in boxing does make him an ATG. As far as EVERYTHING else goes though, he is a joke compared to the WARRIORS of the past! Im sure Floyd WAS a FIGHTER in the past, but now he is a boxing business man first and foremost! His OBVIOUS line of thinking now is: F the fans, F legacy, cuz its all about $$$$ now.Posted December 13, 2013 3:44 pm

Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins will in the end be more rememberd for his great boxing achivments and long time career in the history of boxing then what Floyd Mayweather Jr will.
Bernard Hopkins was record time undisputed and unified middleweight champion of the world for 11 years with record 20 times of world title defences, cleaned out the entire division.
Floyd Mayweather jr is undefeated? – looks nice on the paper BUT it is not much worth in the end with.out any rememberble fights to talk about. Even if Mayweather is a highly skilled boxer and a dominant one as well, he lacks a true champions heart and is the all time greatest “cherry picker” in modern boxing history. If Floyd can’t for sure defeat an opponent at the time, that boxer have to eaither wait long enough or to fight on long enough to be exposed or have already fallen enough so the prime question is out of the picture in any way possible – THEN he will mabey fight them. Also I have never seen a greedier boxer then him, so greedy that he makes people angry and disscusted. A real athlete is first an athlete then a businesman BUT Floyd belives the money are first and making great fights is second priority, well that dont help achive a legacy in the end and he have never been in his fans favour for making interesting fights.
I respect those who likes Floyd Mayweather Jr becouse I can understand them when he is a tallented boxer who wins and that I would like to love him BUT that will never happen. With his lack of heart and an image that is just dissgusting in my taste for an recognised top boxer and athlete. He belives he is boxing in one person and cries when he don’t get what he wan’ts THAT is just bad taste of an image in my humble oppinion.
There is a big reason why all-time great athletes like Michael Jordan, Oscar De La Hoya, Wayne Gretzky etc are so rememberd. Mayweather Jr want’s that what they have BUT he will never ever get it.Posted December 13, 2013 3:12 pm

Floyd could have been considered an ATG after beating Castillo in their second fight however, the terms all-time great and Floyd cannot by logical nor sane reason go in the same sentence nowadays because they highly contradict each other. The terms are like oil and water; they just don’t and will not mix. ATG’s face those who have potential of also being considered ATG. They face fighters where the level of adversity is almost always unknown and they do this constantly without constantly resorting to twisted stipulations such as catch weight, whose only purpose is to gain advantage over an opponent. ATG’s need no advantage, favor nor excuse. They simply fight not just the best but the best who bring unknown adversity in which they triumph especially without the assist of catch weight stipulations. Stipulations aside, ATG’s also do not pad their record with easy wins over fighters who had no business having titles to begin with. Having said that, it’s easy to comprehend why the likes of the Guerrero and the Ortiz’ of the world and others are nowhere to be found today. That Floyd has skills, of course. That he’s won multiple titles*, of course. But considered an ATG? Absolutely Not! Not by a long shot.Posted December 12, 2013 11:36 am
Hopkins is a splitting image of Floyd…..he wants both easy fights and the huge purses that come with it however, Hopkins would do it for the money….he’ll either throw the fight or have it arranged so that he loses in a controversial fashion. This boxing is a business but worse…it’s a dirty business on par with what the crime syndicate used to run…no difference. I would gladly pay for it but on the conditions that it be an exhibition fight because considering it otherwise, is giving in to the very people who purport to change the sport who are part and parcel part of the problem.Posted December 12, 2013 11:33 am

Hopkins is actually PICKING on someone MUCH SMALLER than him….he’s REGRESSING towards that JAIL mentality…in a bid to make a WACK fight seem spectacular. He should RETIRE or fight someone WORTH fighting! Worthy fights are OUT THERE for him!! The majority of fans doesnt remotely want another SRLeonard vs Duran 3 or a Stallone vs Dinero!! Mayweather can still amazingly handle the BEST in the WW div! Hopkins wants to CAREFULLY pick and choose as his AARP advises him! Cmon man, we’re not interested in this guy orchestrating some personal navigation, ignoring the fans, so he can talk to himself in the mirror as he blows kisses.Posted December 11, 2013 11:56 pm

Hops is too big for Floyd, possessing a VERY good chin; it seems he’s looking for a payday to help feed his narcissism addiction. Mayweather CANT knock him out, but sure would outpoint him….BOOORING!!! Ward and Stevenson is OUT THERE WAITING for a guy of Hops MAGNITUDE to CALL THEM OUT!! Ward said that he would do it if called out….. Im sure Hops KNOWS this!! In Hops last fight, he looked like he used Mayweathers shoulder roll a WHOLE LOT – against (sorry to say) a BUM in the SKILZ dept. Ive never seen Narcy (maybe he has) use that style SOOO much in a fight before! That said, it seems he believes he can beat Mayweather at his own game….BOOORING!! I’m glad he’s reinvented himself to some degree – even at this ripe YOUNG age; BUT (i feel anyway), the dynamics make for a DULL, BOOORING fight that will get a few ooohs & aaahs, but take away from Mayweathers overall appeal & aura of dealing efficiently with the younger GOOD cats in the division!….Hopkins need to prove himself against May – will give the impression Mayweather has reached the exibition stage of his career – the geriactric stage! Mayweather should STAY AWAY from that!…..theres no need to pit the two because Mayweather fights BETTER SKILLED “lighter” fighters than Hops! Not to mention: Hopkins is RUNNING from BETTER, HEAVIER SKILLED fighters that are out on the landscape! Hopkins CANNOT deal with TALL RANGY fighters with PUNCHES in BUNCHES!! He CANT deal with them – no matter what HE SAYS!! So Narcy with his LIMITED skills (no shame in developing limitations at this ripe young age – SKILZ naturally DECLINE with age) will go after a smaller guy that CANNOT knock him out – for a sub-glory plot leading to a BOOOORING fight!!! Let Hops PROVE himself against REAL COMP thats ACTUALLY out there….right about now, he’s headin’ towards a narcissistic SUCKA MOVE!!!!Posted December 11, 2013 10:58 pm

Obv he’s not concerned with the WBC deadline December 14: At the main protest camp on Independence Square, pop stars, politicians and priests had pleaded with police not to shed blood. The interior minister called for calm and promised that the square would not be stormed. But even after the police left the streets, Vitaly Klitschko, a world boxing champion who has emerged as one of the main figures of the opposition, said the overnight action had “closed off the path to compromise”. “We understand that Yanukovich has not wish to talk to the people and only understands physical force,” he said.Posted December 11, 2013 6:26 pm

Well one to name BUT just look at this text from the article “For Mayweather Jr. (45-0-0), probably the best fighter/businessman in the history of boxing, the only current boxer that openly states that his main concern is not the belts but the dollars, facing Bernard Hopkins would not yield the payday that he expects each and every time. Even Amir Khan, the next speculated opponent for Mayweather Jr. would deliver a much higher paycheck for the Money Team.
1# Oscar De la Hoya have made more money in the sport of boxing and a FAR SUPERIOR businessman then Mayweahter Jr and lots of other boxers to name.
2# A fighter that openly states more concerns for more dollars then the glory of becoming the true and only champion is in my ears NOT A REAL SPORTSMAN in hearth and soul. All true great athletes to name earned good money BUT they had the hearth and hunger for achivments and titles to conqer in there sports and the money still coming BUT greedy Floyd is ONLY concerned about how much dollars are involved regardless of if it is a real recognised worlöd championship match or not is second – I’m sorry people but I dont appriciate that kind of athletes. Once in a time a high paid boxing match was always in a real world title fight between two of the best in the division.
3# Floyd Mayweather Jr would not earn more money by fighting an over priced Amir Khan then fighting legend Bernard Hopkins, seriusly here.Posted December 10, 2013 8:40 pm

Nobody likes an hour commute… 9 hours in an office… and sometimes 2 hours to get home. That’s 60 hours a week shot to Hell. Boxing is like 4 hours a day with a commute so you can do it part time. If it’s your full time job it’s a breeze.Posted December 10, 2013 8:01 pm

Floyd fought Baldomir when he was the lineal World Welterweight Champion… That title went from Mosley, to Forrest, to Mayorga, to Spinks, to Judah, to Baldomir, to Floyd … Floyd still has it.
Cheato didn’t have a title worth chit… He had never beaten anybody and lost to Dan Santos and Paul Williams… Again, if Cheato beat Mosley it would have put him in position to fight Floyd… Cheato was favored… Mosley was 7 years older than Cheato…
However Shane found out Cheato was cheating and came at him with bloody murder in his eye… He didn’t rest until the cheat was KTFO.Posted December 10, 2013 7:16 pm
Cheato didn’t have an iron chin… When you get beaten into the canvas you’re chin isn’t iron… None of the boxers Cheato fought before Mosley were real good hitters… Cintron was soft and got his reputation off China-chins, so to my mind Mosley was the first semi-hard puncher he faced. Pacquiao didn’t want to knock Cheato out… He felt sorry for him and carried him. Mosley didn’t. Remember, Pacquiao started as a 112 pounder and doesn’t stop many 147-pounders.
If Cheato had faced McCallum, Armstrong, Hearns, Walcott, Kirkland, and or other 147 and 154-pounders who could really bomb—he would have been taken out. He never faced big bombers.Posted December 10, 2013 7:05 pm
“He never qualified to fight Floyd.”
Here we go again with the “qualified” BS. Whether or not Margarito was “qualified” is the least truth pertaining why this fight never happened.
There are a number of reasons why Floyd failed to fight Margarito long before Antonio became known as “Cheatarito.” but on December 6, 2010 on boxingnews24.com, Robert Elmore wrote the following article explaining some of the excuses for this fight never happening when it should have:
“Mayweather didn’t duck Cotto or Margarito.” Google it.
Supposedly Floyd had a “badly bruised hand,” Arum and Floyd were in conflict, Arum wouldn’t offer him enough to fight Hatton, Cotto, or DLH;, or it depended on timing, or if Margarito was determined (by Floyd and his team) to be the “best” opponent available at the time, amongst other excuses. Really, just excuse, after excuse, after excuse.
I believe that Floyd truly didn’t know how to handle a guy with an iron chin, who was tough as nails, who apparently had anvils for fists, and who always came forward with endless courage and stamina. That’s how Margarito was recognized at the time and he was one of the most feared fighters in the world.
So Floyd broke with Arum, then fought feather-fisted Carolos Baldomir for $8.000.001.00. Exactly one dollar more than he would have made for fighting Margarito while he was with Arum.
And bear in mind folks, Pacquiao wasn’t even in the Floyd picture at this time, yet here was Floyd setting his precedent for not facing a particular fighter.
I prefer to utilize common sense: There were plenty of opportunites for Floyd to fight Margarito, but he did not take any of them. Make any other excuses you want in support of Floyd, but Margarito never hid from anyone.
Not to mention the time that Margarito walked right up to him at a press conference asking when he would get to fight him. Floyd responded, “You’ll get your chance. You’ll get your chance.” But he never did.Posted December 10, 2013 7:00 pm
Big Ham, that’s my thought Nard will get knocked out eventually like Mosley has sadly just succumbed to… NO ONE can keep getting in that ring with young boxers forever and evading the big punch… Stevenson would be a lot for Hops to chew at his age despite Nards crazy knowledge and skills…Posted December 10, 2013 6:53 pm
I hear you Bred, that said Hops is getting long in the tooth its hard to bet against the Old Man but he would have to avoid taking a shot and at his age you can get OLD in ONE round let alone 12… Stevenson is a guy with a small window so he has gotta make some money or starve…Posted December 10, 2013 6:51 pm

Sredmond, all Bhop has to do is fight Stevenson the same Floyd fought Canelo. Bellew gave Stevenson some problems in the fight and Adonis is no spring chickenPosted December 10, 2013 6:44 pm
Good post Sredmond. As to Stevenson’s chin i do not trust it. But i do not think Bernard is the one that can test it. I think Bernard has had his hand in the cookie jar a little to long. I think it was pretty amazing the way he handled Jean Pascal. But i also felt Bernard had all he could handle there especially in the second fight. And it was close and that was like 2 years ago. Bernard win’s close fights. I think Adonis would beat him. To much of everything and the wrong time for Bernard. The deciding factor for me is i think Adonis has more energy and a higher workrate and if it went 12 rounds i think he would have the more eye catching shots. You guys ask a lot of Bernard. Do you expect to still be discussing him here when he is 60, picking him to expose the new crop of champions?Posted December 10, 2013 6:43 pm
popkins vs Triple GGG at 1260 winner gets floyd jrPosted December 10, 2013 6:43 pm
Sredmond, Im not saying hes a mindless puncher like Kirkland, Adonis has ring smarts and ability but he’s not on the level of Floyd, Ward, Rigo, Bhop. Adonis could catch Hopkins with a punch and TKO him, but i doubt it.Posted December 10, 2013 6:40 pm
Hopkins-Mayweather will never happen. B-Hop is trying to make Mayweather do the same thing his now-promoter De La Hoya did : rise from featherweight to middleweight to face a big middleweight (who now fights at LHW). Floyd also knows that he can’t win against Hopkins : either he gets beaten by an old man, or he just beats an old man : no merit either way. B-Hop should fight Kovalev or Stevenson, if he wants to claim to be LHW champion that is. But those two guys have the speed and one-punch-KO power, coupled with technical abilities, that Hopkins would flee like the pest at this stage. This is not Tito, who had those qualities but was small for him, but full blown SMW-LHW bangers. Hopkins has not faced a true power puncher since his middleweight reign. Even Cloud was more a volume puncher.Posted December 10, 2013 6:38 pm
Margarito Kirkland Rios, are the lineal human punching bagsPosted December 10, 2013 6:32 pm
B Red, I was and am still somewhat skeptical of Stevenson but that said the guy has actual ability and he is NOT just a flat out mindless slugger… His last couple fights showed me a guy who does understand some nuance… He is NEVER gonna be confused with a virtuoso but the game has some game and he can punch..Posted December 10, 2013 6:29 pm
Tark hates Margarito like MANY do and understandably but Tark is a VERY emotional man driven by his feelings… Margarito has one of the TOUGHEST chins ever seen in a boxing ring loaded or not… He took BOMBS and only Shane was able to crack him one night… Maybe he was loaded against Cotto, maybe not BUT he took FLUSH shots from a PEAK Cotto like they were spitballs and he took them again in the rematch even though his damaged eye gave way… Pac Man must have hit him 1000 times clean and he just kept coming….These are facts, Margo could go shoot up a school but his chin is still VERY tough to say the least…Posted December 10, 2013 6:27 pm
Jay-Roc, I wanna see Pascal against Adonis or Kovalev, to get a proper assesmentPosted December 10, 2013 6:23 pm
If B-Hop did school Stevenson, which is certainly possible, that would really be the icing on the cake for the old man. That would be a hell of a way to go out at 50, with a win like that! Honestly, if Stevenson isn’t going to fight Kovalev next, which is the fight at LHW I most want to see, I’d much prefer him to face Hopkins than Froch. Froch has unfinished business with Groves, whether he wants to acknowledge it or not.Posted December 10, 2013 6:19 pm
Stevenson’s defense and chin is suspect in my opinion, he also throws wide and sloppy punchesPosted December 10, 2013 6:18 pm
Stevenson is a very unpolished fighter and lacks technical ability. I think the old man can school AdonisPosted December 10, 2013 6:15 pm
Tark, you are to well versed in boxing to say Margarito did not have an iron chin. Mayorga once had an iron chin, it eventually cracked. David Tua had one of the greatest chins of all time. Age eventually took it from him ( Monte Barret fight). Margarito’s last good performance was the Cotto fight. He had a lot of trouble making weight and he really drained himself to make 147 one last time. perhaps as punishment for the plaster attempt. His scale was 2 pounds off and he actually came in at 145 for the Mosley fight. He was having his a$$ kicked badly in sparring. Their were alot of substantiated reports of him doing terribly in sparring much like ODLH did during his camp for Manny Pacquiao. The Santos fight i seem to remember was a robbery in puerto rico and then i remember one was stopped on a cut. I won’t deny he might have had plaster in his gloves for Cotto. You also cannot deny that Cotto was hit with a ton of punches. Cotto did bring a photo to Faceoff.Posted December 10, 2013 6:14 pm
Triple G fights at MW and on HBO. Hopkins is with GBP and Showtime. Hopkins calls a lot of people out, but he only fights GBP fighters on Showtime. The one interesting possible exception would be Stevenson, who last fought on HBO but isn’t with Top Rank and makes enough money up in Montreal that he doesn’t need HBO. So, B-Hop vs. Stevenson is a legit possibility, and if Bernard wants the best challenge out there he needs to press Richard Schaeffer to make that fight and outflank HBO, which wants Stevenson to fight Kovalev.Posted December 10, 2013 6:13 pm
Tark, why wont your boy Triple G step up to LHW and fight Old man Hop at LHW. Bhop aLready called him outPosted December 10, 2013 6:10 pm
This circus bout is NOT happening and it makes Pacquiao vs Oscar look like the norm conceptually… Hops fights at 175 and Floyd at 147 primarily its pure nonsense no one wants to see a skinny 49 year old Hops chasing Mayweather around the ring…. Nard wants to cash out but alas it won’t be against Floyd Mayweather Jr…Posted December 10, 2013 6:10 pm
In fairness to Froch he is NOT a guy who is at a point in his career where going to 175 makes sense… He is winding down and a stronger fighter might be just the ticket to have him splatted on the canvas… Froch is a 168 pounder and hes closer to retirement than he knows…Posted December 10, 2013 6:07 pm
Ward, would be a fool to cave to the Froch loyalists and accommodate a guy that he ALREADY defeated on neutral ground and was BAILED out of his last contest in the UK… Ward is seeking release from Goosen to the up his earnings and garner the paydays and respect he has earned…Its BAD precedent accommodating a LACKEY and deposed foe like Froch… Let Froch “Venue Swap” with Kessler since they like to have close fights… Wards the BOSS….Posted December 10, 2013 6:06 pm
Froch isn’t the fight I want to see Hopkins fight… Let’s see him fight Kovalev or Stevenson… Froch should fight Ward in England.
The fight I really want is Kovalev-Stevenson.Posted December 10, 2013 5:59 pm
Leonard let the middleweight title he won from Hagler go… He didn’t want to fight top middleweight contenders Michael Nunn, Mike McCallum, or Julian Jackson… He allowed himself to be stripped of the middleweight title so he could fight Lalonde, Duran, Hearns, and Norris.Posted December 10, 2013 5:57 pm
Tark, well let Froch step up to LHW and fight old man hop for the IBF belt. They can still do a catchweight of 170 if Froch is not confident of fighting a 49 year old man at 175Posted December 10, 2013 5:54 pm
I think Julio Chavez SR was the same way in The Meldrick Taylor fight, like Margacheato was in the Cotto fightPosted December 10, 2013 5:51 pm
B Red…, You can only fight for one title at a time..
Andre Ward and Chad Dawson were both under the 175-pound limit but Dawson’s LHW title was NOT at risk…
James Toney and Iran Barkley fought for the 168-pound title after Barkley beat Hearns for the 175-pound title… That LHW title did NOT go to Toney when he knocked Barkley out…
Leonard and his people pulled a fast on one the public… The orgs waved the rules for Leonard, let him win 2 world titles in one night, and got Lalonded to be weight drained Lalonde at the same time.Posted December 10, 2013 5:51 pm
Cheato was cheating his whole career… You don’t suddenly start cheating when you’re fighting a washed up 37-year-old guy who’s been beaten to trash. The way Cotto whipped Cheato for 6 rounds, and the way Cotto reacted to every punch, and when Cheato took his gloves off their was plaster powder on his wrists and hands… There was a photo of his hand that showed cracked plaster that Cotto brought to the Face Off with Max Kellerman… It’s proof positive Cheato had been cheating all he could for as long as he could.Posted December 10, 2013 5:45 pm
BIG Ham, I think Bhop and Froch can do a double title fight at a catchweight of 170, similar to the fight with Leonard and Lalonde with both belts on the line. The fight would be huge in England, and I think its a very winnable fight for Hopkins, because of the wars Froch has been in. I also think Bhop can beat Adonis because he seems very unpolished and lacks technical boxing skills. Kovalev might be another story though.Posted December 10, 2013 5:41 pm
Big Ham…, Cheato didn’t have an iron chin… If he did Shane Mosley wouldn’t have beaten him up so bad and KTFO of him…
Cheato was a 3rd rater who was whipped in his prime by Dan Santos and Paul Williams.. Both guys who can’t really box or punch,Posted December 10, 2013 5:40 pm
I watched Hagler-Hearns again recently… Hearns looked weak as could be like his skinny legs couldn’t hold up to a good shot… He was stumbling all over the place and getting hit with stupid stuff.
Hagler was getting hit with everything and swinging like John Mugabi… Any good middleweight boxer like Michael Nunn or Mike McCallum would have knocked both of those guys out cold… Hagler couldn’t box apples—but his strategy in the Duran fight was to box.. Hagler got booed.. Just about any good boxing middleweight would have boxed short, fat Duran to death — but that was a tight sparring session that never got going.Posted December 10, 2013 5:36 pm
I have one more for you… Floyd vs James Kirkland…> if, Kirkland can come back ad score one more meaninful win, perhaps against Lara.Posted December 10, 2013 5:30 pm
Tark, i forgot about Danny Garcia. He is perhaps the best opponent right now, Danny proved alot by beating Mathyse. Margarito is a bit maligned around here. But it would be foolish to dismiss what he was in his prime. He was shut out of the scene by the big names during his prime. He had an iron chin, could throw 1200 punches a fight. Was not afraid to be hit. Had good power, and above average size and reach and had a pressure style that matched up well against Floyd’s slick boxing. As for the Plaster, we’ll never know. It’s possible it was never used in the ring and the first time he tried was the Mosley fight. Hiding a block of plaster in your handwrap is not easy to do. He tried it and got caught.Posted December 10, 2013 5:27 pm
B Red, i dig. Hopkins is an ATG. He’s not invinceable though. See my below comment. Why not go down in the books as a 3 weight class champion and win a belt at 168. He weighed 172 at the weigh in for his last fight without trying to hard. He seems a little leaner and less muscled than he was when he fought Tarver. I think 168 is where he should fight.Posted December 10, 2013 5:22 pm
Big Ham…, Cheato Margarito never qualified to fight Floyd… Cheato was only 30 when he fought a 37-year-old Shane Mosley. He lost every round by a wide margin and was clubbed TFO…
How can you offer up a scrub like Cheato as an opponent??? Cheato lost to Williams and Dan Santos… He never qualified to fight Floyd.
There are 3 great fighters who I would like to see Floyd fight… 1. Erislandy Lara… 2. Manny Pacquiao… 3. Danny Garcia… Those are real fights…
May-Cheato would be the biggest joke of all time. Paulie would do better.Posted December 10, 2013 5:21 pm
The Hopkins fight will not happen with Floyd. It’s a circus act, and i bet the lowest Bhop could get down to would be about 165 without being completely drained. I honestly think B-hop should campaign at 168 and target Carl Froch which is a fair fight considering Carl is getting a little old And it would be a 3rd weight class Title for Bernard, and if he beats Froch which is possible it would set up a real PPV against Andre Ward. He needs to stay away from Kovalev and Adonis, they are to big young and strong for him, there is no shame in moving to 168. Now Floyd, well pickings are a little slim. Bradley would be perhaps the best choice, Ruslan, and of course Manny. But their are promotional grudges there. Pauly and Amir seem to be the choices.Posted December 10, 2013 5:19 pm
B Hop is a legend, and never got beat up in the ring. 20 MW title defences, 3 Time LHW champ, and also the oldest man to win a major belt. The losses against Taylor and JC were questionable. He didnt lose any of those fights IMO. The only fights he lost were the First Roy Jones fight and the fight with Chad Dawson, when he came back to quickly from the shoulder injury, ya dig.Posted December 10, 2013 5:15 pm
If history repeats itself Floyd will fight Pacquiao because Manny has bargained correctly at this point which he did not before. He has properly bargained by showing clear signs of physical decline. Losing to a common opponent, and generally losing his dangerous aura, as well as losing a chunk of his market value. Floyd is like a pretty girl that hands around with ugly girls to look better in comparison. He loves and respects fighters that are “strong young champions” that are a cut below him. But if a fighter dares to show comparable level abilities as Floyd he simply avoids him and then degrades him and then calls lesser opponents ” a strong determined young champion.”Posted December 10, 2013 5:12 pm
Tark, Floyd never offered a 55-45% split to Pac. Pac said he would take 45% to get the fight done, this when he was on top of his game. Floyd offered a flat fee to Pacquiao of 40Million dollars, for a fight that would have grossed 180M. That was the only offer that was made from Floyd and he knew it would not be accepted. Floyd ducked pacquiao because he looked to good when he fought Hatton and ODLH, when he walked through Miguel Cotto and Ko’d him then he really said ” no way am i fighting this guy”. He also avoided prime Margarito for a then career high offer of 8m, he ducked both Casamayor and Freitas, called out Tszyu but never fought him. Avoided hatton at 140 because he looked to good against Kostya and called him a “dirty fighter” . Avoided Paul Williams after he beat Margarito. The best Opponents Floyd did fight were selectively chosen when they were old and had some if not a lot of their physical prime. ODLH, Shane Mosley, and Miguel Cotto. Those are facts.Posted December 10, 2013 5:08 pm
Hopkins, this is not leonard vs hearns or hagler vs ray,
Its mayweather vs old azz hopkins.
You can polish a turd but its still a turd.
Hopkins you need to hire a smart man to sell this fight.Posted December 10, 2013 4:58 pm
As far as Olympic Style PED testing is concerned, it was an evolution for both Pacquiao and Floyd.
At first the Pac team offered to test up to 21 days before the fight… Floyd came back with 14 days… Pacquiao came back with 10 days… Floyd came back with 0 days… Pacquiao eventually said, “OK, I’ll test on the day of the fight and between rounds if that is what Floyd wants.”
Floyd came back with a 55/45 purse split… They chewed on that for a few years. Pac got beat by Bradley and said, “Fine you can have 55%, you are number one, and I am now number 2. You get 55%.”
They were fine… The fight was done… That’s when Pac his ass iced — and the fight was history… Now Pac is back with a victory and the fight can be made again … Why it won’t be made is sheer stupidity.Posted December 10, 2013 4:57 pm
If Floyd wanted to fight at 160 he would have fought Jermain Taylor for his middleweight title… Floyd thought Taylor was soft, dumb, super hittable, and easily intimidated … He wanted to fight JT but his dad and uncle talked him out of it…
So if Floyd was going to fight anyone at 160 his best chance was right after he beat Oscar… At his age he’s not going to 160 to fight anyone.
Sugar Ray Robinson jumped at the chance to fight Joey Maxim at 175… When Archie Moore won the LHW title Ray wasn’t interested.Posted December 10, 2013 4:41 pm
Teepee I don’t believe they did the testing for the Marquez fight. They only did it for the Rios fight. But I am in the same boat as you. I have no clue. But yet it is ok for him to decline testing against Floyd. And when Floyd asked him to do the testing nothing but excuses came out. Yet Pac fans say it is Floyd who is making excusesPosted December 10, 2013 4:40 pm
Hopkins needs to fight Kovalev or Stevenson… Floyd needs to fight Lara, Pacquiao, and Garcia.
The idea that Floyd should fight B-Hop at 160 when Floyd won’t fight Golovkin or even Martinez at 160 — is the dumbest thing I ever heard of.
Fight the best fighters in your respective divisions and STFU.Posted December 10, 2013 4:29 pm
Peej why did PAC take the same test for Marquez and didn’t make 40mil in that fight but Floyd offered him 40mil to take the test pleasePosted December 10, 2013 4:12 pm
Teepee, he asked for bloodtest, that is the only excuse you will hear. Doesn’t matter on the excuses on why he couldn’t take them because as you know there where many. It only matters that he was asked to take them and that is it.Posted December 10, 2013 4:09 pm
If Bhop doesn’t want to face anyone of substance at 175 he should retire or only do exhibitions. Floyd match is absurd and nobody’s talked or expressed interest about that except him.Posted December 10, 2013 4:02 pm
SERIOUSLY, B-HOP NEEDS to knuckle down and get in shape to meet the challenges of SUPERMAN and the KRUSHER or consider getting out of the game.
TARK is correct in writing that B-HOP will take a loss vs FLOYD rather than game a BEATING vs KRUSHER and SUPERMAN….Posted December 10, 2013 4:01 pm

Fighters don’t sign to make fights based on their own wishes. Even Floyd, who is supposed to be his own boss, is pretending like it’s not up to him who he fights next and thus that Khan is acceptable. And if you think Manny was making excuses about PEDs you might be interested to learn that more fighters have pissed dirty in Floyd’s own gym in the last year than over at the Wild Card. Get a clue, dude. Everyone who follows boxing with any brain cells in their head knows that the Floyd-Manny fight wasn’t made because Floyd and Bob Arum hate each other, and Richard Schaefer hates Bob Arum, too. The man who could mediate a negotiation between those three would deserve a Nobel Peace Prize.Posted December 10, 2013 3:15 pm
hopkins. a total cu#t.Posted December 10, 2013 3:13 pm
BTW, folks: Google Top Rank vs. GBP feud before giving your wish list of fights. Most of these fights you want to see Hopkins in won’t happen because TR (on HBO) and GBP (Showtime) don’t do business anymore. Hopkins is fighting Shumenov because GBP doesn’t have anyone else worthwhile at LHW. Stevenson, though he fought on HBO last time out, isn’t attached to TR and is thus a wild card here. He could fight Hopkins next if he wanted to.Posted December 10, 2013 3:11 pm
And if Pac could whoop Floyd he would of signed to fight him already instead of making excusesPosted December 10, 2013 3:09 pm
Hopkins is an ATG, fool. I don’t particularly care to watch him, though his last fight was an exception, but you’d have to be retarded to overlook his many accomplishments over the years, from the 20 MW title defenses to beating numerous real and paper champs at 175 (Pavlick, Tarver, Pascal), as well as his sustained success post 40 years of age. I pity the fool that can’t understand that Hopkins is an amazing fighter. But, again, that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy watching his fights. Floyd’s a great fighter too but without Hopkins’ level of competition. I don’t much care to watch Floyd fight either. He’s one of the best fighters of our era but not an ATG due to weaker level of comp (Pacquiao’s fought better opposition over the years).Posted December 10, 2013 3:08 pm
Look at Dawson vs Ward. That’s what happens to when you force a guy to lose too much weight. He had absolutely nothing, just a shell. Its not healthy for Hopkins to make 160.Posted December 10, 2013 3:06 pm
Hey Bernard you should rather take Andre Ward; and the only big fights here are Ward/Golovkin, Ward/Kovalev, Ward/Andre Dirrell (if healthy), and Kovalev/StevensonPosted December 10, 2013 3:06 pm
and to think some retards on here think this pri#k popkins is an atg.Posted December 10, 2013 2:54 pm

Hopefully Mayweather won’t waste his time with the carnival act “Alien.” Hopkins is trying to hard to stay relevant. Childish theatrics and Halloween costumes should be left at the Boys & Girls Club.
This is one PPV that would be a total waste of money.Posted December 10, 2013 2:51 pm

It is clear to everyone that Hopkins vs Kovalev and Shumenov vs Stevenson are the fights that need to be made, with the winners to face off for the undisputed LHW championship. Instead Hopkins is chasing a Welterweight and Stevenson is chasing SuperMiddles. Hopefully the usual suspects will rightfully slam these guys as they do with GGG for trying to fight 1 division lower for chasing Floyds Jnr Middle titles.Posted December 10, 2013 2:38 pm
Whis is Hopkins trying to beat up on little guys again ? Talk about a padded record!Posted December 10, 2013 2:27 pm
I think hopkins should fight Ward or froch at the super middle weight limit and stop calling out fighters 3 weight divisions below him. I think it would be an intriging fight but fact is hopkins will have a size advantage older or not and it just wouldn’t be a fair fight.Posted December 10, 2013 2:26 pm
I think this is realistic and should happen. Hopkins will have no problem making 160.Posted December 10, 2013 2:22 pm
He has to call out Floyd. HBO has all the other top light heavyweights and super middle weights out there. Showtime has mostly smaller top guys. Who is Hopkins supposed to fight that HBO doesn’t already have a claim to?Posted December 10, 2013 1:59 pm
Hopkins vs either kovalev or Stevenson would be big, competitive and sell tickets, a true statement if he beats one of these guys to cement a legacy. Instead he deludes himself chasing a mayweather fight. Mayweather is either very smart or a coward. He will not fight any fight at any slight disadvantage he makes his oppoents fight as low as they can as they just want to fight so he has the advantage over them so he has no chance of fight b hop as he won’t be willing to fight that high even against a 48 year old. Bhop is obviously looking for the easiest way to make big money or to cement his legacy ie Felix trinadad Ronald wright and ODLH all fight out of there weight to fight bhop. The alien needs to fight guys his own sizePosted December 10, 2013 1:57 pm
Hopkins needs to retire or fight other light heavyweight fighters such as Kovalev or Stevenson.Posted December 10, 2013 1:45 pm
