Ray I think a fight with the winner of the Stevenson vs Cloud fight would be the best choice, 2 belts on the line, then the winner fights B-hop for the right to reign supreme ring mag number 1 light heavyweight.

who coud cleve fight next if he wins

Posted August 16, 2013 3:48 pm

Kovalev is going to find this will be a real long night, he hasn’t been taken into the late rounds for a while and when Cleverly is still with him after eight he will start to feel to uncomfortable and weary….Clev to take him…Its strange people come on here remarking that Nathan has been hand given most of his fights and all he has had to do was show up…..So if he wins this one, will the doubters acknowledge it…..For the jerks who keep telling me I am posting to fast…look again dumb**cks this is the first one for two weeks…

I think the knowledgable boxing fan knows that in reality this one is too hard to predict. Any predictions at this stage are just guesses as both fighters are relatively untested.

What!?! – How can you state Cleverly is a con job because he has not fought no one when he has fought Bellew and Murat, and that Kovalev is the real deal when the fact is Kovalev’s competition is inferior to Cleverly’s?

Posted August 16, 2013 9:13 am

You can’t blame Cleverly for the screwed up boxing world….yes…he has been given some gifts so this fight is DO OR DIE

Posted August 16, 2013 8:56 am

I am taking the clever one with a late rd TKO……I think he has a hard road to travel but I see him gaining in the late rds…..If no TKO then at least a solid knock down late in rd 9 and a UD WIN

Posted August 16, 2013 8:54 am

Actually, if you want the true facts, Cleverly is going down for the long count. He is a con job and fraud holding a belt he doesn’t deserve. He has fought no competition and hides at home with his own judges and ref. Well, this time he has bitten off more than he can chew. Kovalev will live up to his name and Krush Cleverly into the canvas. Kovalev is the real deal, Cleverly is a fake, coward, paper champ about to be KTFO.

the reason dawson looked so bad vs soggy and superman is because of the beating he absorbed in a “win” vs popkins . popkins “ruined” dawson

Mr Gav

Thanks teddy

Cleverly is a clever guy, and speakes clearly. I’m impressed with his education (math degree) and wish him well in this fight. He has one, massive challenge ahead of him against Kovelev.

Gotta say I think the light heavy division its actually pretty poor. The reason Cleverly has yet to be tested is that the new names of the division have only just really started to establish themselves. The fact Murat who Cleverly beat its the number 1 contender for Hopkins shows the lack of depth in the division. Bellew is also the WBC’s number 1 contender so its a little harsh on Cleverly to say he’s yet to fight anyone at all. Especially when the others in the division are from the US, and we all know American fighter refuse to come over here. Hwen you look at the divison you have Hopkins who has been beat recently convincingly by Dawson. However Dawson was dominated by Ward and then KO’d by Stevenson. IMO the Stevenson KO was a bit of a lucky punch some what. The guys 35 been KO’d by Boone and does not really have another decent name on his resume. Bute has moved up from super middle after obviously deciding that he has little chance of winning anything against at the much stronger super middle division. We all seen how easy it is to wobble Bute and you wouldnt put your money on him to win a fight when in with a big puncher. Cloud got out hussled by Hopkins. And that only really leaves us with Cleverly and Kovalev. This is a great match up and I think even if one of tehse guys looses I wouldnt write his career off as I’d still fancy them to be more than competative against the others Ive just mentioned.
