Karass’s condition physically will determine if it will be a good fight

TITOPA, I agree that Berto’s explosiveness is gonna test Soto Karass’ durability and resiliency, which he’s demonstrated plenty of. however, if Berto is smart, he’ll dial back his go-for-broke explosive style and take note of how Maidana was able to turn his losing effort into a win v. Karass using a very basic but effective jab. it completely derailed Karass who was already into finishing mode. granted, turning the tide is a Maidana specialty but a range-finding jab certainly isn’t. anyway, both Ortiz and Guerrero were able to exceed Berto’s own ferocity and Karass may be even fiercer. time for Berto to shift the emphasis of his fight-plan from KO to 12-round UD and simply let the KO/TKO happen. otherwise, Berto’s biggest problems have occurred when he decides to go toe-to-toe with punchers. Berto is a solid puncher in his own right but he’s not the hardest-punching welter out there. he needs to embrace this limitation before overconfidence gets him into deep-Deep trouble once again.

I just hope it’s a good fight! I think Berto can win this one, Karass is a bit flat footed and Berto’s explosiveness should pay dividends, but Berto’s confidence has been dented…TWICE, he goes down almost regularly now and Karass is pretty durable. I see a close fight, Berto should win, but it’s a fight so anything can happen.

How is Berto over rated? Maybe he was over rated at one time, but I think we all have the scoop on him by now. Still though, he’s on the right path now, he has a good trainer, who’ll attempt to get the best out of him. We shouldn’t see any ill advised shoulder roll attempts. But really, it’s all in his hands now, if he uses his head, along with his physical gifts, he should do well. If he flakes out fights stiff and strait up, he’ll get beat once again.

Berto is probably in trouble with this fight. Soto-karass is a very active respectable puncher, while Berto is over rated as a fighter.
