Grant Watson

Gennady Golovkin will be the biggest puncher macklin has ever faced and i dont expect the fight to last more than four rounds. Give macklin his dues though coz there isnt many fighters out there who will face GGG. Even when macklin loses he can still make good money with huge domestic fights back in uk.

Not seen much of Golovkin but what i have seen he looks good and powerful. Macklin is a good test for him.

Fears – I agree man. Mac the knife is a good boxer, but just a step closer to elite zone. Let’s hope that a good level fight for Golovkin happens in the nearest future. I think he does his best to make it happend!

Rocket-That is an interesting bit of knowledge you dropped on me about GGG being a technician. All I’ve seen from him is a human buzz-saw attack plan, and I must admit he is an impressive buzz-saw. Like I said, I am a GGG fan, but I want to see him face the elite fighters in the MW division before I place him at the top of the class, because he has yet to be seriously challenged. Mack the Knife is a damn good fighter, but still he is tailor made for Golovkin.

Hey UJelly? ! How are you doing bro? )

Golovkin-Geale is a very possible fight. But I think it is a bit too late for Daniel to start barging it. If Gennady wins this one convincingly many possibilities shall come open and many big names. Geale should already start talking this fight to make it real in September. Martinez, Chavez, Ward, Hopkins already told to be willing to fight Golovkin… It might suddenly become a good queue to become his next opponent!

To FEARS: hey brother! ) You know, it is actually not the aggressiveness of Golovkin but the commercial TV make him fight like this. Back in our country, where he is from, GGG was always known for being a beautiful technician with unique feeling of the game. He has capacity to brawl and he gets many new features as pro, but he knows this game, Gennady is a Boxer… Check out his amateur record. Not only the big names on it, but how much this guy has fought and how long he’s been at the top.

I believe fighting Martinez would be even easier than fighting Chavez or Quillin for him. Martinez would lose it fare and square. His style demands a lot of movement and Gennady can be economical while fighting with crazy intensity. Maravillia becomes old and his age doesn’t add much either…

Eleanor The Dog: What the hell has this to do with the Irish? Golovkin wasn’t born & raised there anymore then Matt Macklin, Mark Heffron, Tyson Fury or come to think about it Micky Ward, John L.Sullivan or Jame J.Corbett! Gary O’Sullivam & Andy Lee are the only contenders @ 160Lb from the emerald isles right now, allthough keep an eye out for Dee Walsh.

Fears, yeah, that would be another nice fight to see!

Eleanore The Hag

Maybe so you Irish dog, but you will be sliced and diced into cornbeef and cabbage.

I would really like to see GGG/Quillin. I give a slight edge to GGG, but that’s really a pick-em fight to me.

Posted April 14, 2013 11:56 am

A GGG Chavez fight would be real nice to see. Martinez would either get a points win or get laid out. I disagree about the other 3. IMO they would all get flattened out.

This fight is very predictable, but great for TV. GGG a good puncher and excitoing to watch, but he is hardly the best the best in the division. He definitely can’t beat Maravilla, nor do I believe he can beat Chavez Jr., Sturm, Pirog or Andy Lee. I am a GGG fan, but I just feel he is overrated due to his exciting aggressive style.

If Martinez stopped maclin, golovkin will surly. Not because golovkin is a better boxer than Martinez because I think Martinez is a more technical fighter. I think golovkin punches harder though. And Maclin is there to be punched. I think Proksa was a hard puncher, he just couldn’t solve GGG before he started getting lit up. Maclin will be gone inside 7 for sure. These guys need to figure out that less is more when you are thinking about trash talking a serious KO fighter from the former Eastern bloc. It’s like beating a hornet best with a small stick.

I’m English, but only give Macklin a 30% chance of coming away with a victory. As it stands no one’s quite sure who’s the #1 in the UK @ 160Lb as they have never fought each other. British & Commonwealth champion B.J.Saunders looks good for the future, Sick note Barker never seems to fight enough, while Murray & Macklin are both up tied up & up against it in high level challenges. Both Lee + O’Sullivan are Irish so they could come into the equation, but only for non-title fights(unless it’s for some kind of meaningless intercontinental strap) Of course “IF” Murray & Macklin could bring home the bacon then the £$ in the UK could be massive this Summer!

Maklin is a tough guy who is put in to get beat on for good TV,agree with HHL hes a punch bag,he has done nothing in my option to deserve a 3rd title shot,he should get back to the UK to face Barker,Murray,Lee.Which he probley will have too when GGG makes easy work of him.

Macklin gonna get loved tapped by GGG.

Posted April 14, 2013 6:09 am

The biggest punch bag more like!

Posted April 14, 2013 2:37 am

Should be good, but the Russians are here. GGG vs Martinez or pirog. GGG should easily get past macklin who put up a good effort against Martinez.

Fools Gold

That was ironic

Posted April 13, 2013 10:12 pm

Let’s not fool ourselves, Macklin is no hitter at the elite level. He won’t dent GGG. Instead he’ll be pounded into mulch very early. Nothing but a tuneup fight.

golovkin has SMASHED onto the scene and looks like he is gonna JACK UP macklin. my money is on golovkin all the way. IN FACT, golovkin is the hardest puncher macklin has ever faced and i beilieve this will be mack’s first stoppage loss. golovkin is in a pugilistic BEAST MODE. ggg will be beastiin now, during the fight, and after. golovkin may be the future for a few years.

Posted April 13, 2013 9:19 pm

Golovkin will get mashed if he doesn’t keep his chin tucked in.

Posted April 13, 2013 8:13 pm

Macklin looks like Harry Potter, Golovkin will be flying up in the air against Macklin.

Posted April 13, 2013 8:05 pm

With the amount of amateur fights, doubt it. Reckon Bute hits harder

Posted April 13, 2013 6:43 pm

Man he looks like he walked off some ivy leage college from the 1960’s with that hair and that outfit.

Posted April 13, 2013 6:23 pm

GGG will ko him under 7.
look at box picks dt cm and i will see you there.
