Canadian Steve “The Renegade” Rainford Ready for US Debut

Canada’s next big pugilistic export, Steve “The Renegade” Rainford (1-0-0, 1KO) goes Stateside this Saturday, November 8, to take on Chris Franks (0-2-1) of Traverse City, Michigan, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. Although Franks had an edge over Rainford in professional experience, the Canadian has undergone an extensive training camp and feels ready for anything Franks might bring to the ring. “Franks is a tough guy. I’ve studied him over the last few weeks,” said Rainford. “He’s never been stopped in his three boxing matches. He’s also undefeated in pro MMA. He’s a guy who likes to fight, but so am I. Hall of Fame Boxing announcer Al Bernstein returns to the airwaves in the United Kingdom on the November 8 Channel 5 broadcast of the MaxiNutrition Light Heavyweight final between Bob Ajisafe and Travis Dickinson. Al will call the action with Dave Farrar at ringside and host Mark Pougatch.

Billy Joe Saunders slams Eubank Jnr. for failing to show up

Billy Joe Saunders has slammed Brighton Baby Chris Eubank Jnr. for failing to show up to yet another head-to-head press conference today to promote their Saturday 29th November showdown at the ExCeL London.

The Hatfield star, who had travelled from his training camp in Marbella with trainer Jimmy Tibbs, was stood up for the third time in a row by the seaside keyboard warrior who was replaced on the top table with a cardboard cutout.

Chris Eubank Snr’s reason for not letting his son not attend the press conference was because he claimed the security provided by promoter Frank Warren was not adequate for the safety of his son, following comments that Saunders would “slap” Eubank Jnr. Continue reading
