I do not see this as a competitive fight at all. While Rigo is trying to reach nonito with his overhand left he will get KOd by a left hook. it’s that simple. Nonito is just too big and tall for Rigo.

Rigo will totally humilatte overrated Donaire and win easy decision.

Nonito, Nonito, Nonito….please, stop chilling about this overeated duck

The only other boxer that will give Nonito a serious challenge in their weight division is Chris John of Indonesia. The rest, I am sorry to say, are just target practice for Donaire and that includes Mares. Donaire is special and I hate to say this, he is better than Manny, of whom I am a great fan. If Nonito was in Floyd’s weight range, he’d KO Mayweather.

Straight Right

A lot of hatin on “The Flash” here. One question who has Rigo fought, since thats the theme of the article concerning Donaire, no one.. in fact his record barely breaks double digits. He’s good and probably should’ve turned pro a long time ago. No resent opponent of Donaire has an inflated record or a losing record and yet you will see more “TKO/KO” than UD/SD in the results column, he doesn’t fight tomato cans, and when he wins it’s convincing (exceptions Vasquez Jr who is a very talented 2nd generation fighter.) Not everyone will like you as a fighter but you gotta give respect where respect is due and “the Flash” is a BEAST……even though Bob Arum is a less than respectable person. Rigondeax vs Donaire is gonna be sick, can’t wait.

Rigondeaux is trying to duck out of the blood test. Anyone that ducks a blood test in any sport is a doper and I’m willing to bet Gamboa is dopin too. I’ve noticed Rigondeaux gets fatigued early. His downfall is he hasn’t really fought anyone with a name as a pro. Yes he did beat alot of fighters but that is amatuers and most of the guys he beat were teens and he was a man age wise. He is definitely a good fighter and if Nonito is a true P4Per he should handle him.

Do you know Rigondeaux was dragged from his bed to fight Marroquin? He was not motivated to fight because all the turmoil surrounding the fight, on top of that he was back in Miami 72 hours before fight night to hear if a Judge would let him fight, still he went after Marroquin as soon as the punch land, to tell the truth I don’t think Rigondeaux was hurt, and if you think Marroquin is a bum from some third country, think twice because he is a very good prospect in his prime, with good amateur pedigree and on top of all he out weighted Rigondeaux by a least 8 pounds, so a 122lbs vs, 130lbs…

hecdog – Well, Rigo won’t be fighting an amateur either…he won’t be allowed to wear his head gear and he’ll have to do land more than pitty pat punches to score in this fight….Rigo’s chin is questionable and Donaire has a granite chin, Rigo’s been down, Donaire has NOT. Donaire has KO’d elite fighters, Rigo has NOT, Donaire has been in the ring with multiple champions, Rigo has NOT….if you think Rigo’s amateur career is your “proof” as to why he’ll beat a PRO like Donaire, they’re you’re in for a surprise.

Hey Sredmond u sound confident. R u willing to bet on that? How about this, if Donaire wins I will change my name on this site to “Sredmond is my master” or something like that, whatever u want and vica versa if my boy wins. If ur so sure then man up

Rigo’s over-hyping after eleven pro fights reminds me of a saying – In the kingdom of the blind, the man with one eye is the king ! His eleven pro fights against those type of opponents befits him as the king of those men. Nonito by brutal KO in the mid rounds !

Posted February 19, 2013 6:15 pm

I just hope the Hecdogs and other Rigo loyalists are as generous with the credit when Donaire flattens this guy.. I mean you have guys saying Donaire is going to get stopped by Rigondeax, and that after all he has accomplished Donaires legacy rests on a guy who is LIVING off his Olympic exploits while Donaire is a PRIME multi-division professional…. Can’t wait for the suckers to eat CROW!

Really excited about this one! Two top guys actually fighting – this doesn’t happen enough in boxing. Who ever wins is certainly in the 10 ten P4P.

i’ve watched plenty of great amateurs, including gold-medal Olympians, wilt under the rigor, pressure, and brights lights of pro boxing. including virtually every Cuban defector who was prematurely touted as the next phenom and dominant champion. accordingly, no 11-fight prospect, no matter how talented, is gonna get the nod from me v. a proven and tested champion like Donaire. not unlike Lara, i expect Rigondeaux to shift into self-preservation mode when he realizes the lethal danger that Nonito represents. at which point, saving face for personal pride will become more appealing than risk and ring-glory.

because im pretty sure the casinos will put Donaire as the favorite and probly too much of a favorite i got Rigo all day. Im doin it soon cause the odds will get closer as the fight gets closer.Hecdog is rite, if u think rigo’s experience in amateurs means nothin then you will be educated the nite of the fite. donaire is a beast, hes a strong puncher, hes intelligent, has heart and a tough style. When the fight was announced i was sayin toss up but the more i think bout it and go back and watch their fights i gotta go rigo by ko

Posted February 19, 2013 4:35 pm

hecdog… maby i would value a training session opinion if you were to go to see nonito train aswell. Do you think reach will come into play in this fight? defence? marroquin was able to touch rigo’s chin so why not nonito? personally a rigo fan, aswell as a donaire fan, but when i break down this fight rigo will do the countering, which concerns me because of nonito’s power and precision. I agree with you that rigo is a beast and a brilliant boxer, but this might be to steep for him. last note….. havent heard freddy say that about anyone except james toney so a link to the interview would be appreciated. peace ya’ll

it’s Rigondeaux who is being overestimated and prematurely being put into Donair’s crosshairs. he simply hasn’t proven anything nor been tested by even a faded Arce. Nonito is an active great who is tested and proven v. quality and professional competition. a Rigondeaux win would be an upset. otherwise, i’m favoring Donaire to win by KO.

Donaire via KO

Posted February 19, 2013 3:32 pm

this will be a super fight. I knew it all along Donaire has the heart to take this fight.

Posted February 19, 2013 2:45 pm

Donaire will soundly beat Rigondeaux .

Posted February 19, 2013 2:25 pm

E in Denver

All fights are a risk. Isn’t that what camps are supposed to do? Face the best guys available, preferably unify your division & leave no doubts about who is the best. This should be a good fight. The winner faces Mares would be even better.

Posted February 19, 2013 1:18 pm

After Donaire beats Rigondeaux the naysayers will be crying, “well, Rigondeaux has only had 12 professional bouts.” Meanwhile, Bob Arum makes bank, no matter what.

Posted February 19, 2013 12:51 pm

Yeah Donaire can’t take bodyshots thats why he has not lost in 1000 years sheesh… Watching that tape of Rigo stopping Rico Ramos has you confused he is not the OLD Miguel Cotto at 140 destroying guys to the body.. That shot where he reaches for the body is going to get him countered BAD, I already see how the smaller Rigo is going to get tagged when he reaches in Donaire LOVES that type of action…

Posted February 19, 2013 12:50 pm

Proud African

Donaire is F%*&%$. He can’t take body shots.

Posted February 19, 2013 11:21 am

This indeed is a quality fight and I really hope it gets made! My prediction is a split decision win for Rigo, but I won’t be betting on it.

Posted February 19, 2013 10:08 am

Old Man

This could either be Hagler-Hearns or Hagler-Leonard or Hagler-Duran. Nah probably more like Hagler-Hearns. Donaire by KO.

Posted February 19, 2013 7:40 am

donaire gets losss number 2 after this

Posted February 19, 2013 3:49 am

risky for a couple of rounds until the Flash KO’s Rigo, Ive said for ages Rigo has a weak chin and Donaire will expose this.
