What… couldn’t you comprehend my last few posts, Brightboy??? Not all that many people hate PacMan enough to shell out that much loot to see him get beat by Bradley or Rios. People are almost always more motivated by hate for a man than like for a man. That’s just basic Psych 101, Mr. Simple Simon.

Plus Bradley and Rios don’t have significant fan bases and can barely put @$$e$ in seats and fill venues outside of Cali and Vegas. You actually learned something today, so you should feel real good about yourself, Brightboy.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

No doubt Floyd was never interested in taking the fight in the first place. Team Pacquiao still has an open telephone line just for FMJ — in case he finally grows a pair and decides he wants the fight. It’s an open-ended offer and they’re willing to enter new negotiations as soon as the “Money” Team calls.

But why should Pac be accept a flat $40 million when FMJ would make $75-100 million??? After all, it’s Pac who has the larger, global fan-base and would be driving the lion’s share of the fans to buy PPV. You have to understand that the majority of people who buy a FMJ fights are hoping to see him get beat — hopefully KTFO.

Therefore, ODLH, JMM, Ortiz, Canelo are really the fighters who drove those huge PPV sales — not FMJ. It’s the same reason why FMJ always wants to fight a top Mexican contender on Cinco de Mayo or Mexican Independence Day. Because he understands that Mexican fight fans will shell out our hard-earned cash in hopes of seeing him get his @$$ kicked and humbled (Broner style) by one of our own.

But most boxing fans just want to see FMJ lose — again. (Lost to Castillo in their 1st fight.) So if they believe his opponent is among the best in the world, and has a legit shot at beating him, they’ll buy PPV regardless of his race/ethnicity. That’s why Pac vs. FMJ would definitely be the richest fight in history. And it’s why FMJ vs. 3G or FMJ vs. Lara would also sell much better than Maidana, Guerrero, Judah, Baldomir, Mitchell, Gatti, etc.

Ouch….it really must sting Arum watching & hearing the PPV numbers and coin getting thrown around when ever his former employer (Floyd) fights? All that cash Bobs missing out on. Now Chavez & Garcia want out? They should b carefull, look what Arum did 2 Gamboa’s career? How come every star Arum has wants 2 leave him and does leave, except manny?

Posted May 2, 2014 4:48 pm

No doubt Arum was never intersted in the fight in the first place. Like he was going to build a staduim and Mannt would fight for charity. He wll say anything to discredit Floyd in the media but he reality is Manny has nothing and Arum is perfectly fine with making him fight all top rank fighters over and over. He looked bad against Bradley certainly not the fighter he once was. Not to mention he has to fight Marquez 5 in which no one is interested in seeing. Floyd events sell out and Arum is sore there is no cold war there is nothing to bargain one fighter in on top and the other is not. They walked away in 09 when it could have been huge there days i dont think too many people are even interested in it and the crazy part about it if they did fought Floyd beats him easy you poor pactards will cry he waiting past Manny prime all the do is cry. Floyd is the most hated bpxer in the sport but thats a good thing it sells seats….

Posted May 2, 2014 4:10 pm

He is just a Floyd hater. Arum has come out with many excuses for not making the fight. And 40 mil is a very real offer. Floyd is the one bringing in most of the PPV so you know he is gonna take most the money.

Posted May 2, 2014 4:01 pm

phony offer. you don’t accept 40mm for a fight that will pull 300mm in revs

Posted May 2, 2014 2:30 pm

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing) – LOL!

Do you know that Garcia is suing Arum for wanting TOTAL control of his boxing career…Chavez is also wanting out of his contract, it’s not secret what Arum does to his fighters…and you come off as though Floyd is the only one preventing this bout? Why so much faith in Arum? He’s a scumbag who’s put up hurdle after hurdle.

I used to believe it was Floyd who was “scared”, then I woke up. You should do the same.

Posted May 2, 2014 1:47 pm

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

FMJ is a fool for avoiding the fight because facing PacMan would be the biggest payday of his career — BY FAR. It’s not even close!!! The fight would break all PPV records and FMJ would be guaranteed a significant % of the PPV revenue. It’s estimated that the fight would sell 3.5 to 4 million PPV buys. Multiply that figure by $69.95 or $79.95 and you’re looking at close to $300 million. Add FMJ’s purse of approx. $50+ million to the many millions he’d make from the PPV revenue, and reality starts to set in. FMJ has been and continues to pass-up an ungodly, ridiculous sum of money here. Why???

Because he says he’ll never do business with Arum. Well, if he’s really the consummate business man he and his fans claim he is….what’s preventing FMJ from getting a business deal done with a man he doesn’t like??? REAL business men do business with men they don’t like and despise every day.

Funny how he calls himself “Money” and his crew the “Money Team,” although ironically…FMJ has no interest in fighting for the BIGGEST $$$ purse and payday in boxing history. Clearly his precious “O” is more valuable to him than making MEGA millions for one fight — even though he claims to be all about the $$$. Frankly, FMJ is totally full of sh*t yet he has millions of gullible fans eating out of his hands like trained, simple-minded chimps at the petting zoo.

Posted May 2, 2014 1:39 pm

Pacquiao himself can come out and say it was Bob Arum, but his fanboys will STILL disagree and blame Floyd. It won’t end, ever. Even if Floyd were to fight Pacquiao and beat him, Pac’s fanboys will STILL find a reason to discredit Floyd…when it comes to Pacquiao, he can do NO wrong!

Posted May 2, 2014 12:30 pm

Hidalg0 – How if Floyd the “bigger fool”? He’s gone to EASILY make 40 mill+ in each of his fights, 30+ mill per purse and plus PPV money as well…what does Pacquiao make? 20 mill? C’mon.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

“Nope. Just SO happens that alot of people SAID that Pacquiao was a FOOL for turning down 40 mil guaranteed. And those people were right all along.”

Nope! PacMan was #1 P4P back in ’09/10 — not FMJ. FMJ offered a flat $40 million, but would NOT allow PacMan to share in the PPV revenue. Considering it would’ve broken all PPV records and been the richest fight in history, $40 million was just a SMALL slice of the pie. FMJ was being extremely greedy and knew that PacMan wouldn’t accept that offer because it was very unreasonable and disrespectful.

Pacquiao appeared on the ESPN’s First Take on Sept. 20, 2012, and said he had no problem with the drug-testing issue. “No problem,” Pacquiao said. “Whatever he wants to do.” Pacquiao said he was willing to be tested even on the night of the fight. “No problem,” he said. “Even the night of the fight. No problem.”

Those are the plain and simple FACTS. So stop the madness, and quit making lame excuses for why FMJ has been ducking PacMan for at least 4 years.

Bernard Hopkins is a great boxer and knowes allskills in the book BUT speaking on promotors and promotions is mabey not the smartest thing to doo.
Sure Hopkins had not the strongest promotor deals in most of his career until he late in 2004 started to work with Oscar De La Hoya and his Golden Boy Promotions.

Hopkins would any day defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr by the way in a middleweight level contest.

Popkins either has no idea what he’s talking about or is lying through his teeth. The fact is that Arum and PacMan both want the fight real bad. They’ve always wanted the fight. Why on earth would Arum prevent a fight with FMJ when it would be the richest fight in history and all he cares about is making money???

The rationale that Arum is preventing the fight is totally illogical and doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Just ask Joseph Herron.

Looks like Arum has his evil claws in Chavez Jnr and Mikey Garcia too. Arum is trying to block the Chavez vs Golovkin fight as he’s looking for options on Jnr and Garcia is already in dispute over his slave contract to Arum. Hopefully, Arum will lose his grip on these two and others will query their contracts and even idiot Pac will wise up and leave him.

If it was all about Floyd refusing to ever work with Arum, he would have stated that at the start, years ago, and there never would have been any negotiations about the fight at all.

Floyd is such a coward and such a liar, I can’t believe anyone believes his BS.

All these people hating on Bernard is sad to see. mostly pure hate and lies that are so childish even my 6year old daughter would shake her head at. Floyd would seriously school manny to me its a mismatch I really wanted to see this fight after pac beat de la hoya, hatton, and cotto because I was amazed by what he was doing but now he doesn’t look like he can hang with floyed. Manny looked pretty good in his last fight but only dominated after Bradley hurt himself before that Bradley was bringing it to him like he wanted to prove something.

Don’t worry. As soon as Pac gets to the bottom of the hole in his money pit Arum will be sacked and kicked to the curb.

A generation ago, lime a number of boxers Hopkins went to jail, and learned what one is supposed to learn in jail….no Jail 2. He said, he didn’t know, but thought it odd the monster, died. Didn’t know if it was age or lack of drugs. Age is a factor, in KO comes from the speed of the punch not the muscles.
He mentions that himself, lack of speed in the punch.

Since when is Hopkins a friend of Mayweather? Hopkins don’t gamble, party (Hopkins listens to too old a music), or waste his money… would not have fun with some one who does.

Haters hate any one who says a word against their idol…they don’t have a balanced life.
Can’t listen to some one more in the real know than them selves……yep, since Manny’s been clean, he don’t win no 100m gold medals.

It was ok to work with arum in 09-10 just shows floyd was the problem not manny

Posted May 2, 2014 3:12 am

It’s not Floyd… It’s BOXING… You can’t blame the boxer.

For as long as I’ve been in Boxing the best have ducked the best.. Because they CAN… Professional Boxing allows fighters to do that.

Otherwise Patterson would have fought Liston 4 years earlier… Ali would have fought Holmes 3 years earlier… Leonard would have fought Nunn… Hagler would have fought McCallum… Bowe would have fought Lewis… Jones would have fought Tarver 3 years earlier… Martinez would have fought Golovkin a long time ago… Stevenson would have fought Kovalev by now… and Mayweather would have fought Pacquiao a long time ago.

showtime is demanding that Mayweather work hard because there is real threat showtime will lose big time on ppv. So story lines include: abortion, retirement, like people will be interested in his next fight. Next storyline: suicide in his teens because Floy Sr. lost a fight. Then come saturday night, it will be 11 rounds for floyd with one round even. That is why Maidana is getting only 1.5 Mil. He has to sacrifice because Floyd has all the money. Only 10 percent or less will go to Maidana, the same odds of him winning the fight. And this is the fight that fans would die for. In replay.

Mephisto loser – Are you writing the script for Floyd ? So why does Floyd keep making excuses. DO U THINK LOSER iF ARUM WAS OUT OF THE WAY THEN FLOYD WOULD JUMP AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIGHTER MANNY ????? NOT !!!! Of course not because loser Mephisto Floyd would once again find another excuse !

Floyd will have two of the biggest fights of 2014 Miadana and he will fight Kahn in england next he will make a ton of Money. What does Manny have Marquez 5? And the Bradley rematch was horrible they both looked old and tired. Arum really is messing Manny up. Floyd will never deal with him again in life.

Boxtradamus Manny was a fool for turning down 40 million he never agreed to the random testing he would allow it but not 4 days before the fight because he was afraid of needles hell he cant make 40 million fighting anyone else out there. People need to move on Manny is done and Floyd is on top. He hasnt fooling sht he was juicing now he is not but again its too late…

He is the one who has to fight Marquez over and over he looked like sht agaisnt Bradley he was loosing until the six round when Tim ran out of gas. Manny is done this fight proves Floyd has the biggest events and makes the most money in the sport without Arum or Manny call it fear all you want the reality is he walked away from Arum and made 300 million Now Manny is hanging in the balance with no hope.
