Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

Mayweather is protecting the throne? I didn’t know that. He must polish it up and keep it nice and shiny when King Wlad is out of town — even though Lil’ Floyd is too small to sit in it.

“He sure as Hell DOES!!!!” but knows that it would also be Manny’s* final fight at the elite-PPV level. so, he sure as hell really doesn’t. not yet. not until he sees solid and irrefutable evidence of Mayweather’s decline. the promotional equivalent of waiting for a fighter to punch himself out before surging after him in the later rounds. unfortunately, Pacquiao* is the fighter whose not only exhibited signs of decline but been BRUTALLY KTFO by Marquez, which permanently derailed the Pacquiao* Expre$$. consequently, Mayweather’s throne is out of Manny’s* reach . . . forever.

Really? says.., “Idiots kill me acting like Bob Arum really wants his cash cow to fight Floyd. He doesnt”

He sure as Hell DOES!!!! … Arum may be a scumbag, but he’s negotiated agreements repeatedly to see that this fight gets done. You’re blind if you can’t see that. He’s gone around and around with GB ironing out details. This is nothing new for Bob. Putting fights together is what Bob’s done all his life — and this is the richest fight in history so he wants to be a part of history.

Since the event is so big, it would give BA a chance to stand at various media podiums, blow tons of hot air around about who he’s happy to work with, and act humble and nice, and try to spin a few jokes that will fall flat … like they always do.

The fighters are the ones taking all the risk you idiot… Whatever punch lands Bob is perfectly safe. That’s the way he likes it.

Floyd is under pressure this fight. Now We can finally can compare him. Because he never fought Khan or Alexander both boxer /slugger and he called Bradley A amatuer fighter, well Floyd, Alexander who Bradley distroyed did Beat maidana in a U.D, Can you do the same? Can’t your under Bradley

And khan also took maidana in a UD and Andreas Kotelnik beat him too in a S.D fight.

Pressure on Floyd, anything less that a UD is a total failure. And even that rate you even as alexander and khan. Good luck Floyd, pressure on ,where are you alexander, who Bradley distroyed and who PAC who even better, that beat bradley with a UD.

@really- you can’t compare Floyd to Manny because Floyd is scared to fight him. People want to see Floyd fight Manny and beat him not this bullshi7 he fights P4p opponents and zero loss ect….If Floyd that good then he should have no problem fighting Manny in the ring. But no! To much excuses!

Posted April 25, 2014 11:34 pm

Really?

And for those people that say PBF cherry picks and doesnt fight tough opponents. Lets compare him and Pac. PBF has beaten 19 current and former world chaps. Pacquio 13. PBF opponenet win/lose ratio is 72%. Pacquio 59%. PBF has beaten 5 fighters ranked in the top 10 P4P at the time he faced them. Pacquio 3. PBF has also beat more HOF fighters than Pacquio. Oh by the way, PBF has less fights than Pacquio. These are not my numbers, these are the facts.

He could lose against Maidana, if he beats Maidana then he should definitely fight Pacquiao, all roads lead to Pacquiao, great interesting fight, the fans want to see it and it will be the biggest money fight by a long way, 3 million PPV at least, probably 3.5 million or more and it will cement Mayweathers boxing legacy, if he wins, undefeated.

guerrero who was just at 130 something fights berto and gets a 147 fraud fight. maidana smokes some who may not even be as good as berto in broner gets a fraud fight and maidana was in the 130s. these guys get guts and go to 147 like guerrero? even jmm was rolling at 130. floyd loves little dudes that wont compete. that anyones calling this garbage credible? those people should be tar and feathered.

SREDMOND

Floyd Mayweather facing Maidana is a VERY credible fight he is a HARD hitter who is on a clear winning streak and as per usual with Mayweather opponents as of late coming off the BIGGEST win of his career (Broner) Guerrero off of Berto, Ortiz off Berto, and Shane off of a BIG win against Margo when he was the perceived loser before the first bell.. All that said Maidana is gonna go home empty handed for one reason, he is facing one of the GREATEST to ever wear a pair of gloves, Floyd is 37 years old and still able to give out boxing lessons, while Pac Man contemplates his 65 rematch with Marquez who Mayweather dispatched with laughable ease, Floyd is facing a fresh 30 year old boxer who put some real hurt on a guy some regarded as a Mayweather successor… At this point Manny Pacquiao is really no match for Floyd and it would be a LOPSIDED loss, those wild winging shots coupled with Pacs new fear of getting knocked out leave him no route to victory only an express flight to a UD loss…

Posted April 25, 2014 3:54 pm

SREDMOND

Canelo Alvarez would have his way with Pacquiao at this point Manny is just too small, and can’t hit hard enough to deter Alvarez who has solid boxing skills… This is NOT Brandon Rios who has the boxing IQ of a drunken Llama.. Manny was not overwhelming nor overly impressive against Bradley, he cleary won but he sustained a number of clean shots and was getting countered… His defense is leagues below Floyd Mayweathers and his accuracy is slipping, I love Manny but Alvarez would get to his body and he would be in a ton of trouble… This is NOT a good fight for Pac Man to say the least absent the payday

Floyd would not crack the top 20. There are more than that number better than he was. Remember, greatness is not defined by zero losses. If that were the case SSR would be an after thought. There are more than 20 fighters better, in fact, much better than Floyd. Floyd may be considered “smooth,” “slick,” and skillful, but not enough to be either the best or in the top 20.

Floyd has beaten 22 champions, most who were past their prime and the only ranking any had was by virtue of the belt they had. However, most (80%) of those “champions” were NOT elite fighters. Five were HOF material however, none were in their prime when good ole Floyd fought them. Open your eyes…Floyd is about money first, second and last. He’s not about legacy which explains why he never fought an elite fighter in their prime. That is NOT GOAT material….not in the least!!

If you ask 50 boxing experts/historians who the best ever is, I guarantee not 1 of the 50 will pick Floyd. He picks himself. That’s fine. Make yourself the self appointed best lover while you’re at it. Nobody will argue with you. As I’ve said before, you can’t say you’re all about the money and smart decisions AND the greatest of all time. You can’t have both.

TARK, read the other Floyd post I posted what Oscar twittered to his CEO . In short Iam the boss.
And it was you not I that started the cold war, his CEO when asked said in short said guess I Am the guilty guy,

And it’s said in another article Oscar is in talka with arum, and want to open up fights. And he suggesting canelo, which garantee was asked by Oscar (they do verified first )
What weight can be done? Roach said many was 150 on fight night, and Bradley mist have been 160+. He was ringside.

PAC fought margarito at 163 fight night, he have beaten up 180-200 fighter in sparing, somehow he best them up more. Remember PAC has never lost to anyone who weight over him. Just a unseen punch from a counter puncher who that is his favorite punch a anticipation combo a right hook follow with a left uppercut . He threw this hundreds of times. PAC ran into it.

Canelo was 153 for Floyd 150 lb arum coul ask for a 160 lb limit rehydrate fight night limit.
Another reason why this was pick by Oscar because of the huge Mexican fans.
And it’s doesn’t have to be canelo. It’s about news that both side are talking and Floyd is out of the picture, and they both can have other fight too.
We see anything can happen and I welcome change, we decide or mop up the small stuff later.
It’s a start.

Oscar to the rescue.Oscar is in talk with arum of a match up of PAC offering canero vs PAC at a catch weight why? Because its as good as a Floyd vs PAC in Mexican viewer.

“You were one to criticise PAC fighting rios a lightweight yet you think maidana deserves a shot at mayweather for beating a lightweight . . .” first of all, i was anticipating a rougher bout and better performance from Pacquiao* v. Rios, but Manny* refused to engage. it was an underwhelming win for Pacquiao* and Rios was and is no longer any lightweight. he didn’t even make weight for his last official bout at 135lbs. Maidana’s notoriety was established at 140lbs. he just barely matured into a 147lbr with epic wins v. Soto-Karass, Lopez, and most recently Broner who didn’t look smaller than Maidana and actually attempted to walk Maidana down in the later rounds of their fight. “fair” is what actually happened and that’s the way it is and was. No lie.

When will scribes like PEEJ see that Floyd is like WWE, he only looks good because he only takes on fighters that are part of his promotional company. Yes, I get it PEEJ, he makes more money that way, but we boxing fans work hard for our money, and dont want to waist it on cherry picked fights that were won on paper before the ring.

Sr Ema. Floyd fought judah, and he lost the first 3 round and came back for a split decission. Even paulie beat him with a UD. And porter PAC sparing partner beat paulie.
Floyd fought Oscar top end. And many say it was a draw. So he have r. Hatten come up from JRWW. Or 137lb skip 2 w.Class to 145 Floyd 147 lb. all 3 fighter slugger/ boxer took Floyd for a close split decission. After hatten Floyd say unbeaten cotto, unbeaten margorito. Barretta and more unbeaten Mexican , so Floyd retired to let the unbeaten fight each other out.

And Floyd fought Marquez a JR.W.W from 135 lb he made him also skip 2 w class
JMM was 145 lb Floyd was 147 lb PAC fought him at hisbest weight 144″
As did he did with hatten 140 lb est weight
Now look at canelo. He had to lose 16 lb and was 152 Floyd 150

So you can’t say PAC drain his fighter, as Floyd does this even better.

Maidana beating Broner he looked good, but Floyd is not Broner. Marcos will be totally destroyed and made silly this is like a sparring session. And Floyd will make 40+ million to put it on. Who can challenge him at this point Pac? That would be another miss match power and speed means nothing if you cannot hit him. He is too smart to brawl with anyone….

Fighting and defeating (I’ll give you it was a fairly close fight) Paulie Malignaggi doesn’t mean you’re “crap” either. In fact, you could make a case that Malignaggi is quite skilled — you don’t go as far as he did, with his serious lack of power, if you can’t box/fight, right? Please remove the Broner’s outside the ring antics/stupidity and just judge him for what he does in the ring, and you’ll see he’s very skilled. He just isn’t focused.

By the way, Floyd and Pac are relatively the same weight come fight-night. Floyd is just taller and has broader shoulders. But Pac has those thick legs and big head.

Posted April 24, 2014 5:32 pm

Tszyu was on Showtime, Floyd was on HBO. Floyd wasn’t that popular and need a big boost for ratings. He fought Gatti. Tszyu went for the money and his mandatory, Ricky Hatton. Like many years before, where Tszyu and Oscar were going to meet, Tszyu lost to Phillips. History repeated itself with Tszyu losing to Ricky.

A fight with Tszyu/Mayweather was talked about with the two companies possibly coming together for a PPV fight. It didn’t happen. Tszyu lost to Ricky. End.
By the way, even Tszyu acknowledge Floyd was more than willing to face him.

It really didn’t matter anyway. Tszyu at that time was injury prone, aging, and inactive. Floyd would have whooped him at that time.

Winky Wright was way to big for him at the time. Floyd wasn’t filled out yet. This fight should have not even been talked about.

He ducked Paul Williams or at least “avoided.” So did Pacquiao who Paul also called out when he moved up.

Margarito. Arum fighter. He wasn’t going to beat Floyd. To slow. Even Shane whooped his ass.

PAUL WILLIAMS, that’s the guy that would have given Floyd all he could handle.

And considering he wasn’t with Arum..

Patrick, beating beaten by Maidana doesn`t equal crap.

Being crap equals crap.

So does letting Paulie Malignaggi dance around in front of you like some kind of Blinged up Italian-huggy bear hybrid without smashing his face inside out.

One of Broners main problems is that he is actually just a giant meatball. In fact so the story goes, uncle Phil from Fresh Prince once sat down and ate 42 Double Whoppers and Curly Wurly. He got so bloated they had to pry him out of his seat with a pneumatic jack, and when they did there was an Adrian Broner left there.

Posted April 24, 2014 7:59 pm

Pac and Bradley are with Arum. Floyd made it clear that he will not deal with Arum. Floyd even said it on radio prior to Bradley signing which Bradley himself admitted it would be hard to get a fight made with Floyd if he were to resign with Arum for the Pac fight (which he did anyway).

So you now have two fighters, Pac and Bradley, both who had opportunities to fight Floyd but blew it knowing full well that signing with Arum would be a road block.

Why is Arum a road-block? Because Floyd isn’t going to let Arum make a dime off him. Arum is said to want promotional dibs on the fight. How much? I’m not sure anymore but he won’t allow being bought out like he as done with other promoters.

PAC disrupted the first deal when he declined additional testing. Floyd gave in slightly with negotiating both the money and the testing while he gave Pac a deadline, Pac didn’t want to be dictated to, missed the deadline, deal was dead….Pac wanted back in…Floyd said “F-U” now we will do it all my way.

I really don’t get it in today’s era of athletics. If you are challenged to take additional testing, you should be more than willing to do it. Just like some of the Olympians have signed up for additional testing beyond what is required of them. It’s there way of not only showing that they are clean but also giving the doubters the middle-finger with a smile.

He then offered him 40 million, Pac said no on moral grounds I think was his opinion. Deal again was not made.

Pac continues to sign with Arum for some reason despite Floyd continually saying he will not do business with Arum…AND, considering Floyd is making a lot more money than Pac, one would think Pac would follow Floyd and Oscar’s lead in ditching Arum, go out on his own, make alliances, and make a lot more Money. And you also get to look at your own books and see all the numbers.

Lara is at 154, not Sergio. I don’t trust fighters moving down. Moving up, sure, it’s easier because you can put on as much weight as you feel fit. Come in at the weight or come in lighter, its up to you. Now losing weight, forget it, it depends on the fighter and how he has made weight prior. How close was he to that scale weight prior?

I”m all for him facing Sergio though.

Bradley fought Horrible. He isn’t nearly as skilled as Floyd who is 37 years old.

I do give credit for Pac for fighting him though. Bradley is World class but not on Floyd’s level.

I don’t know what to make of this fight anymore. I didn’t even think Floyd was peak anymore when it was first announced while Pac was…which is really why I wanted to see it made. I wanted to see if Floyd could overcome his slow decline like Ali had done. That’s really the mark of a Great Fighter. Being on a slow decline while beating a HOF fighter at his peak.

Anything can happen in boxing. At 37 years old, the odds aren’t in his favor to continue to win. You can have “off nights” more often. And it still only takes ONE punch to end it all.

The fact is no one at 147 is going to beat Floyd at 147, period, dot. Only at 154, with the bigger hitters, does anyone have a chance — and even then as we saw with Canelo, it won’t be easy. If Lara wins, he’d be an interesting opponent, as would GGG. Other than those two, no one else has decent odds.

Posted April 24, 2014 8:34 pm

Mongrel H@mster

Floyd needs to worry, Maidana has been seen training with a team of sea otters.

And let me tell you that is a serious business.

Sea otters are awful. You’ve probably seen the image macros floating around Facebook, exclaiming over how they hold hands while they sleep to make sure they don’t drift apart. Well, that true. But then, they also rape baby seals. As it turns out, sea otters are some of the biggest sickos of the animal kingdom.

It takes a lot of resources to feed an otter – they need to eat approximately 25% of their body weight every single day. When food is in short supply things can get ugly. Some males will hold otter pups hostage until the mother pays a ransom of food to the male.

But they don’t just kidnap babies. Sea otters also rape baby seals to death. Male otters will find a juvenile harbor seal and mount it, as if he were mating with a female otter. Unfortunately, part of the mating process involves holding the female’s head under water which ultimately kills the seal pups (and over 10% of female otters). For over an hour and a half, the male otter will hold the seal pup in this position, raping it until it is dead. Sometimes when the seal pup dies, it is just let go and the otter will begin to groom itself. Some otters, however, will hang on to the dead pup and continue to rape its dead and decaying corpse for up to a week later.

Complete and utter mismatch. EVEN IF Maidana hits Mayweather with his best shot Floyd aint going down. Maidana doesn’t hit that hard and Mayweather has a decent cheen and good recovery time. It’s a shame. I like bother fighters. Pac for his personality, good will (despite his flaws like we all have), exciting style, etc. And Floyd, for his sheer brilliance inside the ring and marketing strategy even though I’m a fan of his “Pretty Boy” persona and style of fight than what made him the fortune with the “Money May” safety first routine.

Now if you could just mix the two together that would be a remarkable achievement by the Boxing Gods. but that’s not how it works. You need your Ying/Yang thing for interest which Floyd knew full well about.

The fight not happening taints both their legacies. When Floyd wants to call himself the best, he cannot because he was unable to secure his legacy fight.

Big fights have fallen apart and weren’t made in the past. I saw a Bert Sugar interview about this. It’s just that a PRIME Pac would have been the biggest name on Floyd’s resume even though the tougher fights against Sergio and GGG are still out there and should give him bigger legacy points if he were to take either one on if we are honest about “Risk”…but they don’t have the ATG status of Pac’s name.

Different style fighters.

Also remember that Floyd fought Hatton first, knocked him out. Even roach said Hatton left a lot in the ring that night.

Pac absoultey did do better against a better version of Cotto.

Shane was better version of himself against Floyd than Pac. But either way, Shane was past his prime.

Floyd could beat Paul Williams, we saw it with Quintana, but it was way to risky. We Saw Paul get beat and then turn back around and destroy Quintana.

Even Roger said it was the most risky fight out of the field. Very Tall, Rangy, volume puncher, great stamina, good pop, great chin for the division…to risky.

Floyd would have whooped Margarito in a boring pot shot fest.

Pac would have been a good fight.

Other than that, not sure who else was around at the time that was “PRIME”

Winky maybe but that wasn’t going to happen. Winky was to big and skilled. To much at the time for the smaller Floyd.

Like who?

Cotto at 140, after Floyd destroyed Gatti, was taken off the table by Bob Arum.

Margarito was an Arum fighter and Arum was trying to negotiate with money that would have been generated by Floyd.
Ex: I tell a Prime Mike Tyson that I can pay him 20 million to fight my guy. Well, where is that money coming from? From Tyson who is generating the numbers. And at that time, Floyd was done with Arum who wants the lead part in the promotion. Again, that’s what people are over-looking…Arum’s percentage is big, worth millions, which Floyd isn’t going to part with. You and I wouldn’t either. Millions to ARum, for what? He isn’t needed.

Who else?

Also remember that the 40 million was offered prior to Pac being knocked out. Does anyone know his last two PPV numbers because that may take a hit on that number now.

What was offered before isn’t going to be offered later. Pac found that out before with the testing. Floyd gave him his chance, Pac refused, and Floyd took it off the table. Then Pac wanted it back on the table and Floyd said that’s not how it works. One time offers.

That’s what fans don’t get: An offer today, if not taken, doesn’t have to be there tomorrow. Its a take it or leave it.

ANONYMOUS my friend, well if Floyd wants to be considered one of the best ever, he should have taken on all challengers. He’s been financially set for a long time, so money wasn’t the problem. Other fighters have fought Manny without any hesitation, but Floyd still refuses to fight him. We’ve seen the videos that show Floyd and his family specifically say that they are afraid for Floyd’s health. Bottom line is Floyd has ability, chose to make a lot of money, which he has, but still refuses to take on Manny. Their destiny has passed now. Floyd has become disillusioned and enslaved to money and materials. If it was his health he wanted to keep intact and money to last a life time, he has had that for awhile, but continued to fight like he’s doing. Why not retire today? Even before the deal with Show Time, he was set for life. Nothing adds up or makes sense as to why he didn’t want to fight Manny Pacquiao other then the obvious reason, fear. Floyd and Manny fought some of the same guys, but Manny destroyed them, and Floyd just beat them. This fight should have happened, but it didn’t. This era will always be looked upon as the era that missed the biggest Mega Fight of all time. All Floyd had to do was fight.

And Floyd tried to make the fight with Pac, even agreed to everything for Pac and Pac declined. Then they said stadiums needed to be built, needed more than 3 months to promote the fight, Floyd is going to jail in June so the fight can’t be made in May. But yet Floyd is the one avoiding. IF the promoter doesn’t want the fight to be made it won’t be made. In this case Arum does not want the fight to be made.

Posted April 24, 2014 5:02 pm

PEEJ

That is exactly my point. If you can make the weight then fight a fight and make the weight and if so then call out Floyd. Martinez turned down a fight at 154 with Williams for the rematch and said he couldn’t make 154 but agreed to a fight at 157. They claimed he would have to cut off a limb to make that weight. As for GGG well he didn’t even fight at 154 int he amateurs. So that is why it is hard for me to think he can make 154. I don’t say he can’t I just don’t think he can.

“His only clear duck and the only one of note that had a chance to beat him was Paul Williams.”

Amen.

I have been a big fan of Floyd, but will be the first to admit he ducked Paul Williams. The only fighter that could have damaged him. Floyd could have beaten PaulW, but I wouldn’t have bet on either guy if the fight happened. It could have been their generations Leonard-Hearns.

The rest? They ducked Floyd. Mosley had all the excuses in the world. Cotto was a real gentleman and sportsman in admitting he wasn’t ready for Floyd. Oscar had all the advantages he asked — ring size, gloves, etc. And was still beaten at his peak.

And after Floyd disposed of all these great fighters, Pac picked up the left overs. And asked them to dehydrate. LOLOLOL. Behold, your Planking Pride of the Philippines, Pacnuts: A shameless fighter who won’t fight fair and square.

If pac would have took the 40 mil in 2009 we wouldnt be having this debate. Pac should have took the 40 mil. Beat may and demanded 100 mil in a rematch! If he and arum were so confident pac could beat may that should have been the plan!
Posted April 24, 2014 4:48 pm

It was actually not the best business deal considering Floyd would walk away with 100 million probably but unless you are willing to open the books, tell Bob to stand down in wanting to promote the fight, then you have no leverage. So, agree, Pac should have taken the 40, beaten Floyd (if he could) and then put himself in King’s chair and said now its my turn to say what you get. Give Floyd 40, and Pac takes the lion’s share.

No vision or no confidence.

All that said, Floyd is a HOF, ATG, YES, but his resume lacks quite a bit compared to other ATG.

His best wins are arguably against a Prime Diego Corrales which is a very good win, undefeated Hatton which is a solid win…a Past Prime Oscar, Past Prime Shane, and Past Prime Cotto. However, Alvarez, despite what people talk about his age which is overstated since other ATG were quite good at that age and Champions, is a very good win given the size advantage and quality of Alvarez and Floyd’s age at the time.

Even his own father has said on youtube that he doesn’t want Fraud to fight Manny. Words out Floyd Snr’s own mouth! Fraud is the right name for Duckweather.

His only clear duck and the only one of note that had a chance to beat him was Paul Williams. For the exception of him leaping divisions way back when he was a lightweight to head to the WW division when that division was on fire with the likes of a Prime Oscar, Prime Shane, Prime Forrest, Prime Tito…

EVERYONE would want to Fight just like Floyd if they could. Especially Fight like him and make the money like he is doing. But they can’t. So they will belittle it.

Roach can’t teach the style because he wasn’t a good pure boxer so he will belittle it. But guess what? It costs his fighters.

Personally, I too prefer Jack Dempsey, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, etc. over the Benny Leonard, WIllie Pep, Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather style fighters but if it was you, which would you rather be? Floyd or Manny?

I would love to have Manny’s ability but its smarter to be Floyd. So Floyd would be my pick. You keep your brain cells intact and you have a better chance of keeping your money.

If he is the best why he refuses to fight Sergio. Martines or GGG at 154 or PAC-MAN at 147????……99% of planet earth knows and agreed that he is scared of those guys.
Posted April 24, 2014 4:16 pm

Pac should leave bob Arum. Enough fighters have come out and complained over the years. The Man needs to open up his books. Even Richard/GBP called him out on it a while back when trying to get the Pac/May fight together for “Fair” percentage…which he knew was in Floyd’s favor.

By the way, Even Dana White (who loved Pac more than Floyd) has said Pac should have taken the 40 million offer, win the fight, and then demand even more money for the rematch. That was the move to make. Take Floyd’s 40, take his legacy, and then position yourself in the driver’s seat.

Posted April 24, 2014 4:27 pm

I don’t know if they can or can’t make the weight but the only thing that matters to me is that they are not fighting at that weight which means, they don’t feel comfortable at that weight. If they want to fight at that weight, fight at least one fight there and then call out Floyd. Other than that, pick on a Fighter your own size and fighters need to stop piggy-backing off the cash cow of the sport.

Sure are a lot of seats left for this Mayweather fight. No one is buying all this hype about Maidana. I really do think people have tired of hearing Floyd talk about how everyone will buy his fights to see him win or lose. Sorry Floyd, your run is over. There’s no longer any interest in your safety first style of boxing. People are tired of hearing all the excuses of why you won’t fight The Legendary Manny Pacquiao. No one wants to pay their hard earned money to see you take on fighters one dimensional fighters that offer little more than a punchers chance. It’s not just fans tiring of Floyd Mayweather, it’s his own peers. The legends from the past. One look at his 24/7 segment, and anyone can see what fame and fortune do to a man. This is not a fighter or a person we want anyone to emulate. Boxing was built on warriors that put themselves out there. They challenged themselves. They fought on their opponents area of strengths and tried to prove they were the better fighter. Look back at the 70’s and 80’s and before. Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Wilfredo Benitez, Carlos Palomino, Hagler, Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Lyle, Shavers, Holmes, Norton and others were gallant fighter/punchers. Ask any of these guys about Floyd Mayweather today, and they frown. Why because Floyd Mayweather has deluded the description of a fighter. Marcos Maidana has more respect from true boxing fans because he’s a true fighter that takes on everyone. he actually fights. The last time Floyd Mayweather tried to actually fight a little was against another respected fighter, Miguel Cotto, and he didn’t like it. Boxing is about taking on all challengers at their best in their prime if possible and ducking no one. Floyd fails miserably in this area. His reputation is truly tarnished. Look at Joe Frazier. The man was a true warrior and never ran from anyone. He had the courage to take on everyone regardless if they had beaten him before. Fighters fight. Manny Pacquiao is without a doubt the most respected and admired fighter of today. he ducks no one, never has. He has been calling out Mayweather, but we all know Mayweathers answer. I do hope fans boycott this farce of a fight card. Fans can have a big impact on things. The sad part is that Mayweather is going to regret not fighting Manny Pacquiao when it’s all over for him. Time has passed him by. The biggest Mega Fight in boxing history never happened because Floyd Mayweather was afraid of the little man. Both fighters were in their prime, and all was set, but Floyd continually asked for more demands. The reality of the situation is that Floyd and his family didn’t want the fight. Uncle Roger, Floyd Sr, both let their feelings be know. Floyd himself admitted that he didn’t want his health compromised. Wow! Amazing what fear does to a man.

To bad Pac ducked back in 2009 and again in 2012 because all of these casuals/pactards would have disappeared from all of these boards. Then you would not read half of the garbage that “fans” write. I am a fan of Pacs and he is only second to Floyd in this era, but his fanatics are always on the offensive and never deal with facts
