joey boy you forgot pulev beat a 39 year old croatian on saturday.lol.Posted April 7, 2014 3:45 pm
anonymous when you reach 21 you might understand.Posted April 7, 2014 3:31 pm
Pulev would probably beat Wilder though.Posted April 7, 2014 3:21 pm
Kubrat isn’t called the Cobra for nothing! Where was his jab against Perkovic? Pulev left his left paw waving around dangling out there which is fine against an opponent of Perkovic’s calibre, but against Wladimir Klitschko, he’ll be in a world of hurt. Unless he produces something spectacular on the big night, I doubt Pulev has the fire or the KO punch to do the job against WK. It’s more likely Kubrat is going to taste the canvas when he faces Wlad…Posted April 7, 2014 3:20 pm
joey do you even know anything about heavyweight boxing? Pulev is far more skilled and talented than about 80percent of the guys someone like Ali fought. He’s a topcontender in any eraPosted April 7, 2014 3:20 pm
this is what heavyweight boxing has come to. fury chisora pulev and the rest are a joke.Posted April 7, 2014 2:44 pm
Pulev takes Wilder into deep waters then drowns him. Just my opinion on contenders fighting. But really, Pulev needs his title shot this year with Wlad, how long does he have to wait. That fight just may be a dud, since both guys are jabbers and Pulev have a good beard. Wlad by UD. Might be a snore fest though.Posted April 7, 2014 11:51 am
Eddie, have you been living in a cocoon lately? This last Pulev was the exception.Posted April 7, 2014 11:12 am
Pulev will give Wlad a run for his money. Wlad will eventually win by strangulation.Posted April 7, 2014 10:13 am
Still he has no pop in his punches for a heavyweight and recently got knocked down by a journeyman.Posted April 7, 2014 10:11 am
if you”re looking to see a good fight than stay well clear of the heavyweight division.Posted April 7, 2014 10:00 am
Dаmn уou аrе right!
Тhеll thеm Pulеv is coming!!Posted April 7, 2014 9:58 am
Pulev beat thompson. how much world class can you get? Unfortunately, Tiger is probably the best behind Wlad. Thompson will be all the clowns in the USA if they wave that belt in front of his nose. He gave Wlad a going the first time. I think he just gave up the second time. It was not worth a staying the beating for a hip. He will probably get the loose belt if given the chance.
Is there only one world class HW fighter?Posted April 7, 2014 9:45 am
Alex Lepeai will be wrapped in a cocoon of fearPosted April 7, 2014 9:27 am
According to ESB in an article dated February 3rd, Leapai is the mandatory for the WBO.Posted April 7, 2014 9:11 am
Pulev is solid but seems to have no pop in his punches. Plus, wasn’t he knocked down 2 fights ago? No way he is going to keep Vlad off him. A decent Euro level fighter, not world class.Posted April 7, 2014 7:52 am
Pulev fought a bum. So what, it is not like he owns a belt. He has been mostly concentrating on big guys. He is smartly adjucting to train himself up for Wlad as far as size is concern. Fury, Price, Price, Wilder . . . Pulev would have loved to fight in USA or Britain. If he truly is a bum, why didn’t some of the promoters invite over to clean out the best of the USA. Old man Thompson is going to clean out the USA side of the pond if they give him a chance. That’s the state of boxing in USA.Posted April 7, 2014 7:24 am
pulev will dismantle wlad. call your boy up and get him in the ring. that is where the problem is. pulev is game. where’s wlad? get his butt in the ring. talk is cheap. wlad is going to give it up; bet you wlad never fights pulev.Posted April 7, 2014 7:13 am
Wlad beats both easy asPosted April 7, 2014 6:41 am
Not truе bеcаusе Wlаdimir, must fight Pulеv right аftеr Kubrаt bеаt Ustinov.
Вut Аdаmеk, Furу, Jеnnings duckеd Pulеv аnd Cobrа stау 11 long monts without fight.

“Wilder is fighting contenders… He’s going after the title … and he may get a title shot before Pulev gets one.” – Maybe, but if so it’s for a vacant WBC trinket and due to the maneuverings of GBP, not Wilder’s wins. To date he’s fought only one contender so your misused the plural there.Posted April 7, 2014 4:38 am
No point in facing a guy of this caliber when you are next in line for Wlad. This type of stay busy fight does more harm than good.Posted April 7, 2014 3:24 am
Kubrаt will cut wlаd fаcе аnd mаkе look likе Wаr combаt comаndns:DPosted April 7, 2014 2:18 am
pulev is not special. he is just going to take the belt away from somebody special. that’s special. he can’t do that until he gets in the ring with mister special. mr special has been dropped by some “nobodies”. mr special has gotten better at protecting his dents. lewis says there are dents there. thank god, we will not get this “revenge” bull$hit. they, the special team, should have fought each other instead of milking the belts. boxing, in some of the divisions, has turned into a WWF circus.Posted April 7, 2014 2:00 am
I just took a steaming Tark :)Posted April 7, 2014 1:42 am
When a 39 y. old with a 20-24 record is fighting a top contender, medical expenses are inevitable. It’s up to the better boxer to contain the damage if he wishes. Percovic withdrew with a fractured nose and cuts after 3 rounds so he must have earned his pay check. Perhaps he’ll hurry back home to get medical attention.Posted April 7, 2014 1:04 am
Nope!!! He looks like an ideal opponent for Boytsov… Wilder is fighting contenders… He’s going after the title … and he may get a title shot before Pulev gets one.Posted April 6, 2014 9:44 pm
Pulev would have been special in a lot of former eras… You haven’t seen that many tall and durable 250 pounders with tough chins and brutal jabs in the heavyweight division.
As far as medical expenses in Germany often exceeding a boxer’s paycheck??? Briggs incurred a ton expensive facial damage because his corner didn’t pull him out… Stupid!
A good answer for that is not to incur those expenses in the first place… Too many heavyweights take the ring with fat bellies and inadequate defensive skills … While watching Mike Perez vs Carlos Takam a welterweight friend of mine said, “I can’t believe Perez is so fat. WHY? He can’t maintain a decent pace… and where’s his defense? He’s getting hit with everything.”
Just because you can absorb one Hell of a punch doesn’t mean you should.Posted April 6, 2014 7:39 pm
Pulev is just a decent all around fighter.May get a belt in the future, but isnt a kid so his time is somewhat limited. He might do okay overall…but like others said nothing really that special!!!Posted April 6, 2014 4:58 pm

This was just a simple keep buisy fight in the ring for Nr.1# ranked heavyweight contender Kubrat Pulev.
Pulev is already the mandatory title challanger for Wladimir Klitschko later this year so he is just waiting for his earned title shot and is smart to keep buisy in the ring against low risk opponents to fight meenwhile.
Why should he fight a top 10 contender now when he is ensured a world title fight?Posted April 6, 2014 4:37 pm

Well Mike, it’s still a big mystery how Leapai got the fight. He fought Boytsov for the WBO Asia Pacific title which Boytsov did not hold and which is miles/leagues apart from the WBO regular title. Boytsov had been promised a fight with Klitshko because he had some popularity in Germany and would perhaps attract Russian fans as well. So the mystery remains, although the Leapai fight seems marketable.Posted April 6, 2014 1:19 pm
the cobra will retire wladPosted April 6, 2014 1:16 pm
if pulev had to fight a croat, george chuvalo would have given him all he could handle(yeh still}Posted April 6, 2014 1:16 pm
Better than Vlad’s jab? Best joke of the day. Thanks, that was amazing!Posted April 6, 2014 12:48 pm

The most interesting fight of Wladimir Klitschko for so many years will be the fight against Pulev, no matter if Pulev will lose. Pulev has size, stamina, better than Wlad’s jab and tactical skills, so there will be no clinches, hugs and love on the ring! All this, if the fight happen at all.Posted April 6, 2014 11:53 am
pulev will retire wlad.Posted April 6, 2014 11:41 am
its not in wlads interest to relinquish any if his titles or control. its the sanctioning bodies who should be forcing contenders to fight to become mandatories or get their rank dropped drastically.
i would not doubt wlad fights pulev after leapai and im lookin forward to that fight. unless wlad can get the wbc title and crush bermaine.Posted April 6, 2014 11:32 am
Leapai and pulev are two inadequate boxers.Wlad will ko them both, its guys like Pulev and Leapai that make the HW division, boring, they are slow plodders.Posted April 6, 2014 11:23 am
Wlad should have let the WBO belt go
I cannot think of a bigger mismatch in the modern Heavyweight division
Good аrticlе Ivаn.

Boystov was the WBO mandatory before he fought Leapai. Leapai became the WBO mandatory when he defeated Boystov. There is no mystery how Leapai was selected by Wladimir. Klitschko had to fight Leapai in order to keep his WBO belt.Posted April 6, 2014 10:27 am
