Fonfara can win this.Posted March 29, 2014 1:55 am
Stevenson just made more money signing short with SHO and the prospect of B-Hop after Fonfara?
Stevenson and Haymon put themselves in the driving seat and HBO and Kovalev have been left holding Kathy Duva’s nuts.
Stevenson has been in with better company and hitting the canvas is no yardstick.Posted March 28, 2014 10:18 pm
HHLondon.., “In my opinion Stevenson would make short work of Kovalev.” … LMFAO
Stevenson has been knocked out before… Kovalev has never been down, is a better boxer than Adonis, and a much harder puncher… Stevenson can make one Hell of a lot more money fighting Kovalev than fighting anyone else — especially somebody like Fonfara who nobody has ever heard of…
Kovalev called out Stevenson when they appeared on the same card, which was supposedly promoted to hype a showdown clash between them.. Adonis didn’t play along.. He doesnt want to get KO’d again.Posted March 28, 2014 7:40 pm
“Stevenson has shamed himself by running away from a 2 fight deal and running from Kovalev-if Kovalev was such easy work then Stevenson should have had this May24 on HBO and then Kovalev in the fall…” – Cosign. He already lost once but rebounded with some hyped up KOs. He knew the hype would disappear for good once he got KTFO by Kovalev.Posted March 28, 2014 1:14 pm
Fonfara isn’t bad, he’s just not all that good. He’s worthy of a title shot but is essentially a tuneup for Stevenson who decided to duck Kovalev as I predicted all along.Posted March 28, 2014 1:12 pm
This fight does not impress me. Granted, Fonfara has filled out and is punching harder, but he is not in the class of the various beltholders. He stands very upright, which means he will not be upright very long in this one. This is a “stay busy” fight for Stevenson. Nothing wrong with that, but nothing to get excited about either.Posted March 28, 2014 8:32 am

Swedish Boxing Fan
Andrezj Fonfara (25-2-0 KO’s 15) is a 26 year young and still a growing boxer. The Nr.1# contender by WBO and 3# by WBC and Fightnews 8# best Light heavyweight fighter can’t be over-looked as a simple mismatch. The guy is not the best opponent in the division but he deserves his credit for have made it to the top 3 ranks of the world title organisations and he have after all defeated former world champions Gabriel Campilo and Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson so he deserves his credit.
We all would love to have Adonis Stevenson vs. Sergey Kovalev to happen sooner or later for a unification but that can still happen if HBO & Showtime can make a deal to make it happen as it is a fight all people want. TV aring should not be in the way for the boxing fans to see the best fights happen. Other note is that Adonis Stevenson last time asked said he was not for now interested in fighting Sergey Kovalev (!), that was dissapointing to hear.
Bernard Hopkins vs. Beibur Shumenov for the IBF/WBA/IBA world light heavyweight title unification is still the best fight to happen soonest so after that, hopfully we will have Bernard Hopkins breaking another record in boxing and be a unifed champion. He at least have spoken about interest to fight Sergey Kovalev in an other title unification match!Posted March 28, 2014 8:11 am
Where is Andre Ward. One fight every 18 months, too scared to fight at 160, and 175 where the talent is. Ward suxxxPosted March 28, 2014 3:01 am
Im from mtl and know adonis. He aint scared of no one, trust me! Kovalev will get his turn at getting KTFO. I always come on this website one every 2 months to give u guys clues. Adonis is a beast. Watch what you’re asking for cuz it might come true Mr Kovalev and fans. Montreal bbPosted March 28, 2014 1:15 am
HH – you’re well off the mark on this one. Did you see the post fight interview with Adonis after dispatching Bellew? He was avoiding the question of fighting Kovalev, and stuttered out a response which had nothing to do with Kovalev. From memory I believe the last thing he said was he would fight whoever his team decides he should fight. WRONG ANSWER!!!!! This is why he now is copping a whack from the fans because they want to see the best fight off, and the best fighting off for the LHW titles are Stevenson vs Kovalev. No one disprespects Stevenson as a decent fighter or even the current LHW champion but when he won’t even mention the name Kovalev and then swaps to a rival network…..well…..you reap what you sew.Posted March 27, 2014 11:50 pm

Surely not based on who he’s fought?Posted March 27, 2014 10:39 pm
Kovalev would be no easy work for anyonePosted March 27, 2014 10:16 pm
I can’t stand the bad press AS gets from “fans”.
He has been in much better company than Kovalev and in my opinion would make short work of the tough Russian.
AS couldn’t get a shot at 168, traveled well and took his power with him and earned his stripes dispatching the poster boys at 175lbs.
LHW could be a very good division if the crooks left their wives at home.Posted March 27, 2014 8:34 pm
