Eugthehuge, it’s pretty obvious you’re just looking at boxrec and have never seen Hector Velazquez fight.
In boxing, there’s an A side and a B side to every bout. Unfortunately, Hector has been a B side fighter on pretty much every fight card he’s been attached to for the past ten years.
Look what happened to fighters like Richard Abril and Gabriel Campillo when they were placed on the B side of their respective bouts.
Watch Hector fight…he’s much better than his record and he’s a tough outing for everyone. He is the epitome of a solid gatekeeper who can crack and can take any Lightweight’s best punch.Posted October 8, 2012 8:48 pm
Great start to career,then 2 loses,still exiting fighter.Hope he has good career.Hopefully he is not “damaged goods”.All da best.Posted October 8, 2012 8:34 pm

Linares’ opponent was a 37 yo journeyman with 18 losses in his record, who has only 2 wins in his last 10 outings, who has been KOed 6 times already, and who has the special ability of losing every major bout he’s been into, including Elio Rojas, Manny Pacquiao and Edwin Valero (at least he does have some big names in his record). Still, Linares got hit badly and could not finish the guy. How can they see this result as positive is beyond my understanding.Posted October 8, 2012 1:48 pm
The Mad Scientist
Linares is a lightweight version of A mere Con minus the offensive amateur style.Posted October 8, 2012 4:09 am
“But he still got caught with some big right hands from Velazquez.” That he did, and I was waiting to see the blood start flowing again.Posted October 7, 2012 11:47 pm
Hmmm, I thought that little kid in the Eddie Murphy movie was the Golden Child aka El Nino de Oro? Guess I was wrong ;)Posted October 7, 2012 11:46 pm
On the advice of his handlers, Jorge actually left Freddie and is now training again with former coach Sendai Tanaka. He did fight more defensively and looked really good.
But he still got caught with some big right hands from Velazquez.
But Hector always lands a couple of big right hands against everyone he faces. Hector is a tough, tough fighter.
I thought Linares looked good last night.Posted October 7, 2012 8:37 pm
Didn’t watch the Fight but by the LOOKS of the pic it LOOKS like Linares still took a beating. He should dump Roach and get someone that can teach Defense before he’s lost his senses.Posted October 7, 2012 8:23 pm
