I used to watch this kid run around in his high school bullying kids and picking fights with a group of minions. As an Educator, I would always push him in the right direction and give him positive words of encouragement when I’d spot him walking in the hallways. He’s a likeable kid and when I found out that he boxed, I liked him even more, having laced up the gloves myself for six years as a preteen and teenager. It’s always good to see a kid come out of Baltimore City’s Public School System and do well because the system has so many difficulties. I wish Tank nothing but the best in his career and future. Gervonta if you ever read this…. My advice is to “stay positive and be a positive leader and not a follower. Surround yourself only with positive people and you will reach each one of your goals.”

“Davis trains out of Upton Boxing Gym with trainer Calvin Ford. Calvin was the real life inspiration for the character Dennis “Cutty” Wise from HBO hit show “The Wire”.” – That is awesome. I’m just as interested in seeing the trainer in action as the fighter. The Wire is my favorite TV show all-time.

Hidalg0, I apologize for the confusion. I trained as an amateur at Upton Boxing Gym with Davis.

“I have worked in the gym with Davis…”

Brandi, could you please elaborate on what this means?

“I expect Davis to be a great asset to Haymon in the future because without a doubt Gervonta Davis will be a world champion one day.”

Really, it’s the other way around, Brandi. Haymon is Davis’ asset.
