It’s Me, Ernie

Will you invite me over to the next fight party?…

The way to do it is get together with 10 or 20 fans and all pitch in 5 or 10 bucks for the PPV.. I had a party and some pitched in and some didn’t.. A pug I know went to a sports bar and paid the 15 cover charge to see the fight. He ate and drank a bunch of free pizza and beer.. When he tried to pay for it they wouldn’t let hm because he’s a boxer.. He left a hefty tip.. but he saw a stealthy patron snatch it as he was leaving.. It was pretty damned crowded in there he said, standing room only by the time he squeezed into the joint … and deafening during the Matthysse-Garcia fight … I guess it’s a cheap way to go if you want to stand for 3 hours.

Fight Aficionado

So they televised it for free in Mexico but reamed us Yanks in the bungholes with $75 PPV in HD. GBP is lucky they put Matthysse on the undercard or we’d not have bought it.

Wow putting up record numbers in Mexico. I think he could make some serious money if he fought a fight on CBS. I definitely want to know what the PPV numbers looked like

NON MEXICAN

Yep Character take you a long way. LIKE OBAMA, but look how they treat him. Think about it, this has to be one of cleanest men on the planet. If he had any dirt on him they would have found it BY now. Do they treat him like this because of his character, or his color. Some of the same policies he is trying to put in place to HELP people, The same group of people supported in the past. Is it because of his character. Don’t get me started. KEEP HATING AND MAYWEATHER WILL KEEP WINNING. Making that money.

WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT FLOYD SAYS MORE ABOUT YOU THAN IT DOES HIM!.

yaw cats need to let it go,Canelo didn’t win a round so the excuses are comeing out strong, and you were the same ones saying oh he’s gonna knock floyd out,let it go fellas mayweather is the best in our era and that’s just cold, hard ,solid, facts that yaw cats are gonna have to deal with for a looooooooong time….eazy!

marquez is defenitly the real Mexican hero in boxing he owns pacman and if he beats bradley then he just needs to ride off in the sunset with a glass of lemonade,he’d have nothing else to prove but that’s a tall order given Timmys style…..yezzzir!

Mayweather snr

Thats true canelo still undefeated just ask floyd about catch weights.

Posted September 19, 2013 7:22 am

Canelo is still undefeated, catchweights losses dont count

Mexicans saw the fight for free in mexico….that is also where those who live on the border states flee to and save $70. Now, the break up in the states will be a closely guarded secret but you can rest assured, mexicans didn’t make up the bulk of floyds and his family’s pay.

Tumbito iel pendejito is only and only a mexican fighters fan….he’s no fan of he sport. When he loses bets, as he has this weekend or when his other boy lucas loses……he takes it personally and goes into self exile into a lawless border town along TX, NM, AZ or CA. Loser!

JMM has fought at catchweight so stop the B.S about him fighting bigger guys…..against mayweather he lost…… against pac…..he didn’t fight at the ww limit of 147 and who knows what it will be against Bradley.

Ever heard of freedom of speech?…..Whether we like it or not…..there will be comments we will not all agree with. It’s about tolerance. Seems the fight had better numbers in mexico than the states regardless of reason but, Canelo has more fans in mexico than floyd has in the u.s…….and for those ignoramuses….it has nothing to do with color….so dont even think about using your race card. Character and humility go a long way.

Like usual A LOT of clowns or fake boxing fans rather, are celebrating over information that isn’t even there.. damn.. how stupid can you get.

There is not a single mention of ppv figures, yet you’re already over analysing… lol

They have yet to tally the total ppv numbers. However it has been made official that they have definately surpassed the 2 million mark. I believe if it were any other fight they would have provided us with an estimated figure by now, however due to it’s delicate nature, if you like, they want a figure accurate and true as possible to see if they got close to the record.

The sub- topic of discussion should be if they have already achieved the 2 million mark imagine the potential ppv figures if the Mexicans were charged for the fight.

Lastly I’m being a tad hypocritical here, that theres an actual debate regarding ppv figures. Yes it’s a business, but its really not for the fans to comment. Our job is to appreciate the successful card and main event. The only difference is I’m pro- boxing, regardless of the fighter, thus taking interest in the figures. Whereas those that are commenting negatively and prematurely are simply hating on Floyd, albeit to the the detriment of boxing, such is your hate…

The sad thing is mexicans follow hype jobs like canelo and chavez jr instead of following a true champ like jmm. Marquez moves up in weight and fights bigger guys but canelo and chavez jr fight smaller guys I just don’t get the mexican fan train of thought .

Canelo’s effort wasn’t the most breathtaking… He never mounted a sustained attack all night and didn’t seem to have the energy to.. He rehydrated 18 pounds for Trout and came in at 172 looking vibrant and fresh.. He rehydrated only 13 pounds for Mayweather and came in at 165, looking a little slow and languid.

ALL u, C O C K suckers should pay your respect to Ken Norton instead of talking this PPV crap in Mexico

Why are you wishing that the PPV stats are a disaster? Are you anti-boxing, or are you simply anti-Floyd Mayweather Jr?

BTW, the article didn’t say PPV numbers, it said television viewers. No dollar amounts were mentioned.

Posted September 18, 2013 9:47 pm

So Mexican citizens got to watch the fight for free? It wasn’t a PPV? If so, I’m wondering how did they get it free but Americans had to pay at least $65.00 for the PPV?

I’m surprised they even have TV technology in that 3rd world craphole.
